I don't think this is true. A lot of people have despised this style since it appeared. Premier League matches used to be 60/40 possession with two teams trying to score a goal, without teams who were scared to defend. Now we have to endure shite training matches of 75/25 cos City don't want the opposition to have the ball as that's the "best method of defence". META? Without doubt? Entertaining? Not in a month of Sundays.

The great Liverpool, United and Arsenal teams had no intention of having the ball for 75-80% of the time, passing it aimlessly between centre backs and central midfielders with an approach akin to Chess. Their mentality was "we have the ball, let's go up the other end and score. If we don't, you come and try and score, but we have a great defence and if you don't, we'll race up the other end and try to score immediately". This was infinitely more entertaining, and made for much better matches. If you like watching a multi-billion point squad pass it around in triangles for minutes on end waiting for an opening, then good luck to you, this City team must be your wet dream. Unsurprisingly, plenty of people would rather watch paint dry.

You would have to acknowledge when Utd had the leagues tied up with 4-5 games to go, Fergie used to fill his sides with youth players. Often drawing and losing games at the end of the season. He knowing sacrificed pts at the end of the season for mass experience. Simply because the title was in the bag anyway.

Make your mind up chaps! In one breathe winning is 'robotic and mechanical' from Guardiola... yet in the same conversation Ange Postecoglu's approach is considered too gungho and needs to be more focused on 'winning'!

As a Man United fan give me Pep anyway. Klopps style is more intense and front foot chaos but not sustainable as his record has shown. What I don't get is maybe it's boring for one team to be this dominant but the others are just not good enough City's job to win every competition and they generally close to doing that every season. Others should have the same goals .

Fergie is one of the greatest managers no doubt, but PEP is the GOAT! The man created the greatest football team of all time, his BARCA would have even beaten the greatest national team of all time, Spain. Twice they met in the CL final, twice PEP gave him an absolute footballing lesson. Saying Fergie is the best PL manager of all time is backed up by those going by the amount of titles he won, but he was in the PL for 27 yrs, PEP's been here for 8. And for 20 of those years Fergie was the only manager with money, when others got money, his dominance ended. MU bought Ferdinand for 30m, Wenger bought Toure for 2.5m, from Belgium, so he was up against skint Venger and the likes of Pulis, Roll-a-Dice with my Eng managerial career and Dyche. No chance Fergie wins all the titles when up against Maureeniho, PEP, Klopp!

As for your club, although your football was pretty entertaining, the fact that you kept winning all time got a bit dull after a while 😂, so there's even a case to argue there, because I think this is what the whole point is born of - the fact that after a while, people get fed up of one team dominating the league.

You don't necessarity need high quality players in order to pinch the ball off teams who play out from the back - all you need is the right organisation, & players who are willing to work their socks off. I know players like Foden, Bernado & Alvarez are all very gifted footballers, but they don't 'arf work hard out of possession.

The league is loosing its integrity. How can Everton and Forest be deducted points, yet Citeh (with 115 counts) and Chelsea remain untouched. Complete lack of integrity for what is fast becoming a farmers league.

i can tell you as a city fan winning by one point every year is not dull and boring its stressful and i would prefer use to be top of the league a lot sooner rather than leaving it until the last few games. its not cities fault the other teams dont match us. improve you have the money, arsenal are the big spenders these last year or two.......

Don't look at the transfer budget that's only a part of it and is bursts of spending. Look at the wages, cities are always either the highest or near the highest year on year.

It's not the nine darter it's the regularity of it. Instead of it becoming a wow moment it becomes expected. Something expected isn't exciting. The players are that good it's robotic. Which is what the stream is about

The truth of the matter is that since Pep left la.liga, no one has won it 3 in a row. Yes, just real, Atletico and barca compete there for the title, but no one has won it like Pep. In Bundesliga, no one has made more winning in a row than Pep, etc, etc, etc And now in the PL. No, this is not a coincidence at all. Pep is among the god of football

Pep is the GOAT. He owned Ferguson each time they met. Also Man City's squad isn't deep, it's literally one of the smallest squads if not the smallest, you don't even know what you're arguing.

I personally don’t like how Guardiola plays. I remember how bored I would get during the 2010 World Cup because of what Spain was doing with the ball. I am sure it is the brand of football you enjoy if you’re a supporter but it is less entertaining when you’re a neutral. The unpredictability of the football outcome is what makes it so entertaining and City rarely looks uncertain.

The difficulty of what City has done can be shown by the fact that Klopp only really challenged Pep in 2 of the last 4 seasons.

Klopp finished on 97 points, 1 point behind on last day in 2019, won in 2020, 93 points in 2022, 1 point behind on last day. 3 seasons. Klopp's rebuild was a bigger job and he spent less money. Guardiola spent a billion pounds on improving an already billion pound squad. Oh, and 115 charges.

@TonyCyprus Yep. Zero investment into the team, per Liverpool. City dominating domestically is not a surprise. They already had a billion pound squad that had won the league twice in 2012 and 2014, then went out and bagged many people's choice as best coach in the world and spent another £billion + of money that's not theirs.

@INACIOPOP that's not City's problem. Liverpool, Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs all have billionaire owners. If their wrong investments and limited investments, including not getting the best manager avaliable has not yielded the same results as City then that's their look out not City's.

@TonyCyprus Never said it was. Just that it's no surprise that City have dominated domestically. They've spent a fortune and cheated. Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs are nowhere near them on the financial front. City's 'investment' has only been matched by United, who've simply spent it badly and maybe Chelsea in the last season or two...another club with dubious finances. In short, they've had no real rivals over the past 8 years, bar Liverpool and Arsenal in the last two.
