I have worked under both President Nyerere and President Mkapa. I am an old person who contributed even to some of the aspects of speech Mkapa made. I would like to make 3 comments only, if I may: 1.When we choose the leaders for Tanzania like the two sons of Africa who made Tanzania to be respected from 1961 to 2005 we should go for merit based on high Intelligent Quotient( IQ) and high Emotional Quotient (EQ) which is highly missing at the moment. Don't necessarily go for mere paper educational qualifications. 2.When a leader is elected it does not mean he/she excels in all fields of knowledge and experiences. It just mean all of us have to help him/ her to use our knowledge and experiences through that elected person and that person has to be open and grateful to those who volunteer to help! 3. The leader should give himself/ herself enough time to do the homework and prepare to make a speech to any public: no guess work or expecting miracles. He/she has to do the hard work of preparation for the speech and avoid small talk when you are the President for a nation like Tanzania. These are the attributes which Nyerere and Mkapa had. God Bless them they made Tanzania to be respected. Let not erode that respect now. Use the best brains in the country which both leaders did!

What a productive comment, thanks for your service sir. It's indeed these qualities are not found to most of our current leaders, sad.

President Mkapa like Nyerere was articulate and kind of strategic but it's twisted psychology to expect anything good let alone helpful "aid" from the very people who colonized the continent, did disastrous things on the motherland and miseducated the Afrikan as he righly states in this speech. MAGUFULI is the one who finally saw the true light and was confident enough to pursue it and he was silenced, the path Samia forges now shall be crucial
