He's the living legend, the man with visions. Its so unfortunately that he didn't given the Nobel peace prize. He deserves it more than anyone else so far for his contribution to the fighting for the African freedom especially in the southern part of Africa. R. I. P Mwalimu JK Nyerere. Your dreams to Tanzania will eventually come true.

I wouldn't consider it as an unfortunate occurance. It is my opinion that those who work on the award couldn't consider him because Mwalimu stood for an opposite cause. He embraced the oppressed, weak and poor exploited masses. His philosophy could probably have defeated the Western's own philosophy and interests. He was very clear faithful and firm on what he advocated. A very rare personality that ever lived in this world. Apparently I observe a like kind of award to our Nation and others especially the Southern part of Africa. We all got compensated dearly. Greater than the Nobel Price I wish to say. RIP Baba wa Taifa.

People respected him for his words of truth and love for his people and Africa at large, his inspiring words energized and encouraged the people of Tz to work hard, to respected each other, to loved each other, to believed in each other, to cooperated in various economic social and political activities to set up strong foundations of peace, harmony, integrity , tribal indifferences, patriotism, and so many things.... Where are we now in those categories, we used to sing heroic songs everyday in the morning at school to show some sense of patriotism, physique, self reliant upcoming people responsible to their communities with respect to every individual... We all know and understand that there is an invasion of new technologies but it doesn't mean we should not embrace our values and national dignity.... PATRIOTISM IS FOREVER is something we should embrace and hold up to, until the last days of our life.... MERRY CHRISTMAS.....

Nyerere was a great man and was a President of Tanganyika,he struggled very hard to make sure the whole Africa become independent. He also struggled very hard to make sure the whiteman removed from African countries.
