As a key account manager, you are very important to the relationship between your company and your client. You act as a bridge between the different departments in your company and the client. You keep track of what each side needs and make sure that projects go smoothly.
In this job, you'll be in charge of one or more "strategic accounts," which are clients who have a big effect on your company. You will work directly with these clients to find out what they want and how your company can help them.
Key account managers must also be able to work well under pressure while juggling multiple responsibilities.

    Definitely that our organisation has far too many internal meetings. I spend 7.5 hours per week in regular internal meetings and another 7 or so planning and delivering training or catching up with clients. Is it any wonder I am chasing my tail 😅

    I am a progamme manager and exploring key account manager position . I tried some books to get some basic sales and marketing knowledge however the blah, blah is just off putting A Quick search in KZread and found the crash course. Your video’s are awesome and underrated. You should be on a TED talk. 😊

    Awww thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate it and am so glad you enjoy the videos. I agree - they're underrated! Probably because I'm so bad at publishing. If I was putting out content more regularly - I'm sure things would be different. I plan on changing that with a more reliable and frequent schedule.

    Glad it was helpful! I think it's a good reminder of where we SHOULD be spending our time and that list is great way to refocus when you find yourself distracted by things that don't really add value (or doing other people's work for them!! A pet peeve of mine!)

    Everything look fantastic but what about ad hoc task, in business everything change constantly, so i think that normally KAM could not plan their day to be sure with that on 100%

    You're right; there's always some unpredictability in any job, including being a key account manager. While it's impossible to plan every minute, I try to make sure unexpected tasks still fit into the main focus areas of our role. For example, if your boss asks you to do something last minute, that could fall under "Internal Alignment". But if a task doesn't seem to fit anywhere, it be worth considering if it's really your job or if someone else should handle it. Thanks for your comment!
