If it’s expensive then do it yourself. Remember you have to pay for the work and all the new parts that’s being replaced. I work as a mechanic in Norway and if u own one of these expensive cars the price is higher. It takes a lot of effort and precise work when dealing with AMG and all sports cars. In my country you would be charge around 25K to 30K Krons😊

I have an A45, and the authorized mechanics in my country is ridiculously bad. Seeing you work makes me wish you worked where I live. It shows that you are precise and take pride in what you do. Amazing work, thanks for sharing!

Moin, ich habe mal 'ne Frage. Weißt du zufällig ob die zweiteiligen 360mm Bremsscheiben vom W204 c63 auch auf den W205 mit 360mm Scheiben passen? Mir geht es um das Gewicht und die Optik, so ein schwarzer Alutopf sieht besser aus als die Standardscheibe beim 205er. Antwort wäre cool, danke.

I'm from the UK and work for a Truck and Van Merc dealer. we don't do passenger cars, that was taken away from dealers 15 years ago. There is no need to change the oil before the first service, but of course you can do that.

Nochmal Montagestellung angefahren nur den linken Sattel abmontiert neu geschmiert, Bremskolben zurück gedrückt, Montagestellung verlassen. Muss ich jetzt beide Seiten demontieren und beide Bremskolben zurückdrücken? wegen der Parkbremse

4 Laps Nordschleife, 3 Turns at 20 minutes on Lausitzring, 5 Turns at 20 minutes on Salzburgring, and 3 Turns at 40 minutes on Hockenheimring.

Always thought grooved discs were directional. NS looks correct but OS looks wrong with the grooves. Also would have been a nice touch to maybe throw a little cleaner on there and maybe clean the springs etc down before throwing it back together. Oh and before people start asking what knowledge do I have..I have tested and developed breaking systems in performance cars for a number of years, for the likes of Mintex, Pagid and Ferrodo. You made it look easy as expected and the old breaks were shot lol but sometimes that little extra says a lot about the technician ;) Thanks for the upload none the less.

The AMG instruction book says that noises are normal for the AMG performance brake. But you can try to dismount the pads and to grind down the brake pad with some sandpaper.

Where the parking brakes engaged before you started ? I thought you had to press some kind of a button combination inside the caf to release the parking brakes when you do this kind of maintenance.

Yes, but only at the rear axle. There is a service menu in the car computer.

Hi. Sobalt meine Bremse hinten verschlissen ist, werde ich ein Video machen. Die Feststellbremse wird im Kombiinstrument in Montagestellung gebracht. Dazu muss man ins Werkstattmenü. 1. Zündschlüssel in die 1. Stellung bringen und sicherstellen das der Kilometerzähler angezeigt wird. 2. Zuerst die "Telefon abnehmen" Taste drücken/halten und dann zusätzlich die "OK" Taste drücken/halten bis du im Werkstattmenü landest. 3. Unter dem Menüpunkt Bremsbelagwechsel kannst du die Montageposition anfahren. Dazu muss die Feststellbremse gelöst sein. Nach der Reperatur wird dann im selben Menü die Montageposition wieder verlassen. Während die Montageposition angefarhen/verlassen wird darf das Bremspedal nicht betätigt werden.

Exact same process on my 07 charger srt8 super bee, really easy, only real annoyance is that a lot of the performance pads squeal, try spraying on a quieter before putting them in.

Like to work in a shop like that. Quiet, clean, no hacking.

Hey, habe die Führungsbolzen dünn geschmiert ( vom Werk waren die auch geschmiert )Habe nochmal eine andere Frage.Habe Bremsbeläge hinten beim C43 W205 gewechselt, musste linken Sattel nochmal aufmachen ( vergessen Finger zu schmieren ) Kolben nochmal zurückgedrückt. Servicestellung wieder über Bordkomputer verlassen. Hätte ich den Kolben im rechten Bremssattel auch zurückdrücken müssen? Jetzt ist die rechte Seite um einiges wärmer als links nach der Probefahrt.Kann es möglich sein das die EPB jetzt nicht richtig arbeitet? Oder muss sich das ganze einfach nur einfahren?

WaveCeptor Danke für die Antwort. Mache morgen den rechten Bremssattel nochmal ab. Gucke nochmal nach. Kann mir im Moment nicht erklären warum die rechte Seite heiß wird. Führungsschienen genau so wie links gereinigt und neu geschmiert

In this case you dont need to clean the rotors. The coating disappears when braking for the first time and dont effect the brake power.

Ich wollte meine Bremsen vorne beim A 45 AMG Facelift auch selber wechseln, bei den Bremsbelägen war ein Kärtchen dabei, das die SBC bremse nur vom Fachpersonal gewechselt werden darf, wegen Verletzungsgefahr, und man sie Elektronisch deaktivieren muss, gilt das nur für die Hinterachse beim A 45 oder auch für vorne ? Hat der A 45 überhaupt diese SBC bremse, oder ist dieses Kärtchen bei allen Bremsbelägen einfach dabei ?

Da kann ich dich beruhigen. Der W176 verfügt über keine SBC Bremsanlage. Das Kärtchen kannst du ignorieren.

why tighten the wheel bolts with torque wrench if you tighten them more tightly than prescribed by the impact wrench anyway The torque wrench just clicked and did not move a millimeter, so they are too tight

@@eyeorewolf i never use c-clamps for fixed calipers, too great a risk you can scratch up the paint and the opposite side pistons will move back out if you aren't counter-holding them in place....c-clamps work great for sliding calipers though. 2 prybars/long screw drivers work well if you don't have the proper pad spreader for these types of calipers.

@@JeeperZJ I've only done brakes on a Mercedes once and it was a 1998 E320 non-AMG model. I have done a lot of brakes on my personal vehicles and never yet had a caliper piston move back out on me but I admittedly haven't addressed the brakes on my SLK55 AMG yet so I appreciate your insight, with the cost of parts I definitely want to make sure I do the job right and don't do any damage even to the finish on the calipers. I can see where the multiple pistons on the AMG caliper may cause an issue with them wanting to move back out if they aren't compressed in unison or if they are spring loaded in some way, thanks for your input.

Hi, die Servicestellung bezieht sich nur für die Feststellbremse an der Hinterachse. Diese ist im Bremssattel integriert. Bevor man die Bremse hinten erneuert wird die Servicestellung angefahren um beim zurückdrücken der Kolben (muss man immer noch selber machen), die Spindel der Feststellbremse nicht zu beschädigen.

Auf der Oberfläche haben sich schon Risse gebildet. Und der Kunde, in dem Fall ich, wollte einfach neue Bremsscheiben :)

Wait was his brake fluid reservoir empty?!? Shouldn’t you have topped it off, after finishing the brake change?

brake fluid is a sealed system, the fluid never went anywhere except into the calipers. Once the calipers are pressed back out the fluid returns to the reservoir. You should never, ever, top off your brake fluid if there are no leaks present.

What torx dimension is the one for the disk and torx dimension for the caliper? thank you
