THank you. what size socket do i need to unscrew the bolts and how much torque please? so i just did this , but my oil came out dark grey/back like, i did it after 10k miles just like it says. is it damaged now? also, it did take only 1/3 of the quart of gear oil. i did added after test drive, and still i think it should take more. any info will be appriciated. thanks,saeed

Hallo und vielen Dank für deine Videos, sind sehr hilfreich für die Arbeit. Eine Frage hätte ich, beim selben Fahrzeug habe ich jetzt auch das Hinterachsgetriebeöl gewechselt. Soweit alles geklappt, allerdings beim Probefahrt und Magnetventiltest merkte ich kein rucken nach 10 mal betätigen sowie es in dem Programm stand. Der Zustand änderte sich immer zwischen aktiv und nicht aktiv. Olstand habe ich noch mal geprüft lief sogar noch etwas raus. Viele Dank im Voraus.

Hey Waveceptor , love your vids you do very clean and professional work, I have an e63s and I know about the 4 jacking points by the rocker panels but I want to get the rear up in the center so I can use jack stands by those jack points can I use the rear diff to jack the car ? I think there is a pad in the front center to jack from but I'm really concerned the best way to get the car jacked up so I can take all 4 wheels off, Thanks!

Can you please list the tools needed.

Hast du mal gemessen wie viel bei dir raus kam und wie viel du eingefüllt hast. bei mir kamen nur 550 ml raus und gingen auch wieder rein. Viel falsch machen kann man da ja wohl nicht, wenn mann langsam auffüllt bist das Öl oben wieder rauskommt. Warum muss man die Räder 5 mal drehen, da kommt doch nichts mehr raus, so auch bei meinem. Mit diesem Vorgang müssten doch die restlichen fast 200 ml raus kommen?

Das war die Arbeitsanleitung für die Schmierung und Pfelge des Panoramadachs. Diese Serviceposition wird alles 3 Jahre durchgeführt. Ob sich daduch die Geräusche vermeiden lassen, kann ich nicht sagen, da ich das Dach fasst nie benutze. Aber ich schätze mal nicht :(

Depends on how you drive the car but between 3.5k and 5k

Das Differential vorne ist im Getriebe integriert.

That gear oil was very good still,am sure the owner follows the recomendations for intervals of changing fluid but,it looked good and clear,if it was dark I would understand but looking the way it came out,I say too early.

Mario Soto I think they go by mileage, as in service intervals. I do the rear diff in my car every 15k which is 2 years for me. Trans every 30k and oil every 4.5k, BMW so it varies.

Yes, you need special tools and a mercedes diagnosis to check the oil level.

Wie viel öl passt in das Differential? Wie kannst du bemerken wann das öl reicht?

Es werden ungefähr 0,7 Liter Öl eingefüllt. Das Differential ist voll wenn das Öl von selbst wieder aus der Einfüllöffnung heraus fließt. Nach einer Probefahrt mit Ansteuerung der Lamellenkupplung über die Diagnose muss der Ölstand nochmals korrigiert werden.

Its not the simplest thing on earth. And you need a obd diagnosis for the gearbox oil temperature and a special dip sitck the check the oil level.

INMADH Hi, würde ich nicht verwenden. Wie es der Name schon sagt ist das Öl für Sperrdifferenziale gedacht. Im A 45 ist ein normales Diff mit Lamellenkupplung für den Allrad verbaut.

Few reasons to mark that it is torqued correctly and to prevent tampering and fraud issues. I work at walmart and for oil changes marking is a godsend as many people drain oil and come back saying we did something and want said service for free or a new engine.

I would say 2 litres +or--,but around that.

WaveCeptor no the noise is not temperature dependent it happens all the time but only if you listen carefully. Not sure if it is the facelift model but I have the 2014 version

Ok. 2014 is the pre-facelift model. So my guess does not apply. Then i think the noise is normal but i'm not totally sure.

Ok, the sound is similar to the noise made while in Reserve in most cars, otherwise I do not have any transmission issues.

I dont think a oil change would solve the problem. In last time we had several cars with diff noises and we had to replace them.

Why did you turn the wheels whilst your friend was holding the front ones still? is it to drain any more oil left? and should rear diff oil be serviced at every service?

Alle 2 Jahre bei jedem Service A. Wenn man die Racestart Funktion nicht nutzt, wird das Öl im Diff nicht stark beansprucht und bleibt wie neu.

100% due every A service and oil condition is unknown until you drain, i have seen some come out BLACK! others are clean.

marking a bolt is an indicator, so everybody can see that the work is done and the bolt was tightened with torque.

Cant tell. Never done it. But if i had to lift both sides at once i would use the rear axle subframe (0:57) and not the differential.

Is this the same term as rear diff oil change? How often does the A45 need this done? I did a Racestart on mine once in a wet and I saw a message "4MATIC currently unavailable". Since then the car doesn't feel the same like if you put your foot down with full throttle on Sports mode on the first gear it changes at 5,000rpm which is too quick and doesn't let me go closer to the redline. And the Racestart never worked as smooth as before even on dry tarmac I saw a couple of times with message 4MATIC is currently unavailable. Do you know why that might be?

Europe is held to a higher vehicular standard than the US, that’s why cleanliness is such a bigger deal there than here. If you don’t pass inspection in Europe your car isn’t allowed on the road until it’s fixed, at least that’s what I understand In the US........nobody really cares to that extreme

Die Bezeichnung auf dem Heckdeckel hat bei Mercedes schon lange nichts mehr mit dem Hubraum zu tun.
