Wat size bearings r in the Origin C...I wanna buy new ones...

To help with focus issues try a higher F-stop and more lighting. Lenses hunt more in lower light and lower F stops. Or you can just manual focus. Thanks for the great videos!!

ahhh.. smart phones. Not sure what adjustments you could make but if it has a setting for center focus point that can help. Thanks again for the great videos. More lights can help though and minimize the lens hunting. ;)

When is the field test video ready? LOL. Just a quick question, the levelwind doesn't move when you cast right?

Its been really windy on my test days, I tried to test 3 of them throwing a senko last weekend, Ill try again this weekend. I only got to cast a few times on the speed spool, was impressed

just got one as a birthday gift and looking forward to finding a decent pole for it and taking it out to the coast or the lake to give it a whirl!

It shouldn't even be a competition. Shimano Casitas 150HG....hands down.

Finally fished it today, quite disappointing. My topline observations are as follows: 1) when I cast as the line is going out of the reel it is very noisy, not sure whether that was because of my new line; 2) casting distance so so, may be I expected too much after reading one review on Tackle Warehouse that someone said it casts better than a Daiwa Tatula CT Type-R, hell no, that is BS; 3) the reel lacks torque in terms of cranking power, when I fished the Biwaa Divinator which has a spinner, it felt strained. Oh and bear in mind I already bought the lower gear 6.6:1 model, may be is because it has s small main gear. I can't imagine what it might feel like with the 8.1:1. Also, the long awaited Concept Z's lowest gearing available for left hand crank models is only 7.3:1, that will definitely make me think twice whether I buy it or not now ; 4) the matte white paint as expected could get dirty and I am not sure how easy or difficult it is to wash it off just yet (since I just got back) and 5) the drag though is as strong as advertised. My conclusion is don't believe the hype and basically I just fell for the colour scheme and that's it. I have not used any of the Shimano $100 models, but I would say the Daiwa Tatula CT has to be up there and probably my reel of choice. I know it isn't included here as it retails for $130 at Tackle Warehouse. But, you can get them on eBay for $90 (brand new) these days, in other words even cheaper than the Origin C plus the Tatula punches above its weight. Should have stuck with Daiwa, but I experimented with a new brand and that's the price I have to pay. May be I will try the Shimano Casitas one day, in the meantime I should have a Curado K come next month.

Will look forward to it. The moral of the story is don't be cheap just because of 30-40 bucks, always try to find value where real value is. I mean if we are talking about reels that costs another $150-$200+ then that's another matter. If you go to eBay now, the Tatula CT varies between $89 to $90 something, the Tatula CT Type-R and the Tatula SV TW can both be had under $140. All those reels are better than Origin C in my opinion.

This reel is good for a $99 . And is a nice looking reel. I love It

I own this reel and a Black Max. Im glad i was gifted the Origin. If i had paid for that reel I would be pissed with its performance compared to my Black Max.

Alright, screw it, I am sold. Ordering one now! LOL.

I don't think the side by side tabletop will be that important to me, but what about casting distance comparison? Even if is not the longest caster, I doubt it will be a deal breaker for me. The fact that it looks so good, I am already half way there. Then, coupled with your comment about its smoothness, that pretty much just seals the deal for me.

It is smooth, but the paint quality is the worst of all the reels, just an FYI. Maybe yours will be better
