This evening Melissa takes some waste from the sawmill and turns it into some prime kindling wood for the fire ring and I use the Kubota MX 5400 and Land Pride Land Plane to spread some 2a Limestone down at the renewable resources processing center.

Make sure you cut a bunch of sticks up for the dogs to gnaw on LOL. I was not a fan of getting a pool, but my wife and 2 daughters prevailed. I can now say I'm glad we have it. I use it as much, if not more, than they do.

That’s a wonderful fire pit and a great tradition to have one in the evening. I am enjoying Melissa’s channel. I could watch one each day, but she makes us wait so they’re even more delicious when they come. Very cool strategy Melissa! Saw Ty for a few moments in this video. What a good looking am mild mannered little (not much longer) guy! What a great family you have. Thanks again for sharing! From Central Texas, y’all Have A Day!

By the way, an above ground 24' round pool with filter and the electrical hookup is somewhere in the $3,500 range, and does not affect your property taxes. That's what we got, and it looks great. Above ground pools heat up fast in the sun. The grounds does not suck the heat out of them like in-ground pools do.

Bill here from St John Parish, Louisiana. We start our fires using oak kenneling with 6 to 8 full sheets of news paper formed into a ball, about the size of a soft ball, under the kenneling. Lighting the newspaper with one match is all it takes. Within a few minutes we can start adding the split oak firewood.

Kindling is a nice way to make use of scrap/waste wood from the mill.... With that same procedure, what do you think about taking a log you're going to cut up for firewood and putting it on the mill first to slice off thick flitches to get the bark separated from the can't (Melissa's "can"), then make it all into 16" cuts.... The cut flitches can be split for the wood pile and the bare can't would be ready to be processed into Hunter's premium firewood... Maybe mill it into 2 by 3 slices before making the 16" cuts ... Have to think about this being more/less of a time saver or not. Might be more convenient for handling the product ? Perhaps something to try out... Really enjoy watching the Morgans doing even the most ordinary things on Camp Morgan... Gary

Mike, as you know, I bought a land planer after seeing your earlier videos when you had the RK equipment. It never occurred to me to use it in reverse like a box blade. Using the planer in reverse looks a lot more efficient, effective, and enjoyable than back spreading. Nice job!!! Melissa, I don’t publish YT videos, but I’ve edited a few GoPro fishing and diving videos and I’m with you when you say you don’t know how Mike does it in a couple of hours. Nice use of the pine scrap for kindling. The weather we are getting for the next several days is fantastic for outdoor evening fires. Have fun!

I used to have a woodworking business where we used about 50k board feet of cedar a month, needless to say there were a lot of small scraps. We got some fishnet citrus bags and put one at every work station. Made a deal with a local hardware store to sell them as kindling. After a couple of weeks we couldn’t fill them fast enough. I’m sure your firewood customers would find them a useful accessory product line. Sawdust and wood chips also make great compost and mulch. I don’t know anyone today who makes too much money, and at the same time being able to help the environment!

Melissa, how ever did you get Mike to be the straight man for your joke? It was so unlike him. How did you get him to dull down and not be his usual hilarious self? Changing him from that amazingly quick witted, spontaneous, exuberant, ball of fire, to a willingly clueless stooge. Good thing he redeemed his sparkling persona by leveling out the driveway in the exciting way only he knows how to do. I am still waiting to see that amazing time lapsed video of the stain drying on the woodshed, that once again, only he knows how to deliver.
