Thought it was going to go, once a load shifts, all bets are off. Just like the fuel shifting, all the crap in the tanks heads to the filter. This truck also has a safety shut off? I believe it's new enough, that when the truck leans far enough, the computer gets a message from the sensor saying shut down, minimizing the fuel spill catching fire 🔥. That's a safety that came from trucks going over , at least the fuel won't pump, the engine won't run or seize up. Saving the insurance $s. 👍😎

I would set to rotator up a little farther back and rigged around the landing gear it’s stronger than the pockets in the front and wrapped higher in the rear it would gave you more lift in the lower side.

You have a rotator but only used it as a winch truck. Lift the back onto the road & then winch the front up. Faster, one truck, less rutting the shoulder. Just my opinion, of course. Always enjoy your videos!

I suspect... it may be down to cost on the part of the company.. they want the truck out but want to pay the least amount possible hence the winch out from the rotator as it is the biggest truck available to dead winch.. If it needed to be lifted.. i suspect thats higher on the recovery money scale.

@@oddtechman I dunno, if I owned a recovery company and a rotator goes out on a job, I'd be billing rotator rates even if it's just used as a straight winch. Any job it goes out on where its capabilities aren't needed means its not available if a job comes up where it is needed.

@@ferthur01 jobs are levied at set rates by the state i do believe according to requirement.. a wrecker firm cant just charge what they like sadly (this does vary state by state though so i cant comment on where these guys are based). Wreckers have to recover regardless if they are called and if a driver say doesnt have insurance, then the wrecker firm have to take it payless. @@ferthur01 Like i say.. rates vary state by state.. some states impose set tarrifs and unless a rotator is specifically requested for a lift.. than it can usually be dispatched for a winch.. if on scene it then needs to lift, this then has to go to negotiation between the wrecker firm and insurer/driver firm to work out the extra costs.. again.. state / firm dependant :)

@@spoonfind583 finding the access port is the hardest part. The most common priming jobs we had were for trailer mounted refer units. Guys would park the trailers full, refer running and forget about them. When they'd finally discover they ran out of fuel was a big emergency to get it going quick so they wouldn't lose the load. Those were tougher to get going because they're mounted high up on the trailer. To keep from having to climb up there, I made an adapter so I could hook the service truck's air compressor to the fuel tank and prime it that way.
