Very sure, nootNOOT. Charlton was an attacking midfielder, who sometimes played as a central midfielder. He did wear the number nine shirt, but in both cases (Manchester United and England), the centre-forward wore the number 10 shirt. In Manchester United's case, that tended to be Denis Law, and in England's case, it tended to be Geoff Hurst.

I'm no man Utd fan, but Cantona's influence on the club in the early 90s certainly warrants him a slot on this list, he was the player that took man Utd from good to great, his mere presence was already a factor. Having said that, difficult to omit any of the 7.

Outstanding player Dan, arguably the best left back ever in the premier league. Could defend, get forward and wasn't bad from the penalty spot and scored some great free-kicks over the years like the one against Liverpool in the 3-3 draw at Anfield

Bobby in my opinion might have been the best of the holy trinity. Two great feet. Brilliant shooting and passing. Could play anywhere in midfield and attack. Magnificent footballer.

Vidic was brilliant, but if we were to include him we'd have to include Gary Pallister and others as well. In terms of Vidic vs Ferdinand, Rio has an extra 4 years & 155 appearances at Manchester United, so that would be one reason. He was also a slightly more complete centre-back, in that he was much better on the ball than Vidic.

Rio is elegant. His tech, ball control, even inside the box. he is cool. as for best center defender ever play for united, i'd like to name jaap stam.

Ronaldo won literally all possible trophies in those 6 years and won balon dor and was runnerup two times. This alone is equalling Sir Bobby whole career achievement. I understand he had only 3 seasons when he won all this but the time frame shouldn't be the criteria when he is accomplishing feats some take their whole career to achieve. And his second spell was also individually brilliant. He deserves to be there whatsoever

I'm an Arsenal Fan but IMO, Wayne Rooney is without a doubt the best Man utd Player of my lifetime... His United peak career(06-12) coincided with one of the worst spells in our history. Wayne was one of the players(along with Drogba at chelsea) i feared the most during this period. They were always a threat.

Fine list, and i think you have the right top 5, though maybe Ronaldo and Edwards, despite their shorter United careers, or Rooney and Cantona, could replace Law and Robson. Not forgetting Schmeichel, Van Nistelroy, Ferdinand, Beckham, Vidic, Byrne, Irwin...

Since Roy Keane's departure, United have struggled to rope in the silverware. In fact United haven't replaced him.

List is weighted towards longevity. Cantona played for United from late 1992-May 1997 with a long ban in the middle. Great player undoubtedly, but it is clear why Law, Robson, Scholes, Keane, Best, Giggs and Charlton are ahead or him. But I would say Cantona over Rooney for closeness to getting in the list. Also notice how midfielders and attackers always valued more in these debates than defenders and goalkeepers.

George best might not be the greatest but he is definitely the most skill player to wear the Jersey.

I would have Keane as number one, just like in the all-time premier league 7 list. I mean how many times did Ronaldo and Henry go missing in big games? Ronaldo was non existent against Chelsea every time they played and I'll never forget the performance against Portsmouth in 2008 when they lost that FA cup game, if Keane was playing that game they wouldn't have lost! If he was Brazilian or English he'd have gone down as one of the greatest ever players to grace the game. Best first touch I've ever seen from a player in the game and he rarely gave the ball away. He was outstanding the year United won the treble and they would have retained the champions league if Peter Schmeichel had stayed for one more season, how he didn't win the Balon Dor in the period of 1999 - 2001 is a joke he was the best player in the world during those years

Well considering Ferguson knew it was pointless having him up against Cole as he would have been destroyed he stuck him on the left wing where he faced off against Michael Essien who was the makeshift right back and Ronaldo scored a goal in the first half and was completely ineffective in the second half and extra time. When the pressure came on him in the penalty shootout he bottled it. Don't get wrong I loved Ronaldo when he was at the club and he's had some career since but I just felt Keane was better. Anyone who could captain a premier league side to a title with the likes of Luke Chadwick alongside you and Fabian Barthez in goal is a serious player

I would have 100% had Ronaldo in that 7 based on the fact he won three titles in 6 seasons, won a balon D'or whilst at United, scored over 100 goals for them mainly from the wing, champions league winner & scoring in final etc. Plus the fact he's the most talented player to ever play for United. All about opinions though

Georgie Best 100% deserves to be on the list. He played professional football drunk. I can barely even piss straight when I'm drunk. Best could dribble past 6 players and put it in the top corner. Crazy how he was only 26 when he left United yet had such a lasting impact.

A very good list, hard to argue with the players mentioned. Have been United fan for 50 odd yrs, thought Martin Buchan was a great player in a poor team, same with Paul McGrath a bit later. Players that were lucky enough to have played in winning teams seem to get more plaudits than those that played in weaker teams. Anyway my favorite of all time and I'm sure the opposition fans favourite player of all time made the list! The one and only King Denis 👑.

Despite me not thinking Rooney having a better legacy than most of those guys, I still think he should be there. The fact that He's United's record goalscorer, England's record goalscorer, 2nd most goals in prem history, and I think 2nd or 3rd most assists in premier league history, he just has to be there. Maybe in place of Scholes/Keane/Robson
