even without titles, Arsenal was almost always in the title chase with a fairly mediocre team (until Ozil and Alexis signed). And with these two, they started doing pretty good again for a while until Alexis left. TBH there wasn't a single 'bad' season under AW. some of those bad seasons were bad when compared to his own achievements that's all (victim of his own success)

Ranieri was actually very good at Chelsea, not merely decent. While Mourinho was great and right away, what he did was continue trajectory of the club under Ranieri. He, as much as Mourinho, guided Chelsea from the Dennis Wise "win with grit" era into the Lampard/Terry "win with quality AND grit" era. Fun fact: it was, fittingly, a Chelsea result that sealed the deal for Leicester. That made me feel good at the time, and in hindsight.

@@joemckeown2763 Agree. He did well with fairly good teams and uniquely well with Leicester but couldn't turn round bad ones. Most of the other great managers here always had very good teams to work with. How would they have managed with the squads at Fulham and Watford? Sometimes the players just aren't good enough, or there are huge dressing room problems. Even Mark Hughes and Harry Redknapp couldn't salvage QPR - and nobody has managed to turn round Man U for a few years.

Doesn’t deserve to be any higher in the list, he’s won as many titles as Mancini, Pelligrini, Ancelotti and Dalglish, all of whom didn’t make the list. Klopp is a fantastic manager, but his Prem finishes have been 8th, 4th, 4th, 2nd, 1st, 3rd and now probably 2nd. That’s amazing, but it’s not anywhere near Pep, Wenger, Mourinho or Ferguson

Klopp that low is a bit harsh. I would think he is the same or you could make an argument he's better than Pep. Klopp has made Liverpool into a superpower, a little bit behind City with a budget that as same as Spurs. Also, i don't think Ranieri should be 7 though. He would be a honorable mention, but 81 points league finish (while very impressive), was gotten when all the contenders are down.

Say he stayed at City another 15 seasons and won more than 10 of them eclipsing Ferguson’s 13 titles do people think that would put him over the top or does the manner in which he does it(with massive spending) mean he can never top this list?
