If I had removed Ronaldo or Giggs, I would have gotten the same criticism. If I had removed Scholes like what @Coola Pulensa is saying, then I would have gotten immense criticism. You can't win with these.

I would have thought Duncan Edwards would have an honourable mention considering that he was thought the best player of the Busby babes and Bobby Charlton said he was the only player who ever made him feel inferior. It is hard to pick a modern possition for Half Back players at it is both a central midfield and centre defence hence a more reasonable honourable mention.

love your team but somehow I have always wondered how about vidic and stam together. somehow I feel the two would be the rock. Plus somehow I was trying to put Roy Keane in. Say what people may, but he was the inspirational captain. Maybe Sir Bobby Charlton right behind Eric Cantona. Plus I would have becks play instead of Ronaldo. Of-course Ronaldo was all class but what this team would need is good passes to Scholsey, Sir Bobby and Eric...would better than Giggsy and Becks on the wing. What say?

Harsh Srivastava i’m not sure about a vidic-stam partnership, since they’re pretty similar players (stopper cb). i mean sure we would definitely concede very few goals but the defensive unit would work better with a stopper and a sweeper imo.

This is a good list however Vidic is a better defender than Rio so has to be in there and best was better than charlton so replaces him also.

There seems to be a lot of criticism regarding my leaving out of both George Best and Roy Keane, and in all honesty, it's completely warranted. But understand my position when making this video, for George Best's case, there are 2 winger spots and 3 prime candidates to take up those positions: Ronaldo, Giggs and Best. Do I leave out Ronaldo? Who's in every former Manchester United player's all time Manchester XI, who also went on to score 42 goals in 1 season, win the Puskas and the ballon d'or? Or do I leave out Giggs? Who has the most assists (162) in Premier League history and has over 900 caps for United? Same story for Keane. An exceptional player and undoubtably one of the greatest midfielders in Manchester United's History, but do I leave out Scholes? Who's considered by Xavi and Zidane to being one of the greatest midfielders of all time? Or Sir Bobby Charlton? Who's case I don't need to lay out. I understand the criticism, but do take into account there are over 50 legends to choose from and only 11 spots to occupy. Thanks for your support.

In no disrespect to George Best, Duncan Edwards imo was twice the player what Best was but don’t get me wrong Best was an outstanding player and probably Manchester United greatest ever player behind the great Duncan Edwards. Duncan Edwards was a unique player everything about him you just want to like. He was world class in every position, he could play goal at full back centre half in centre midfield on the left and right and at front. He played in goal and kept a clean sheet. It was a shame that he passed away in the Munich Air Disaster we would of won a lot more trophies than we would of back then. Another player Sir Bobby Charlton one of Man United’s greatest ever players come out and said Duncan Edwards was the best player he’s ever played with and the best player he’s ever seen and he’s played with the likes of George Best, Denis Law and played against Pele. When you hear someone like Sir Bobby say something like that then you sit up and listen.

Not even Duncan Edwards in honorable mentions lol... great team but come on Duncan Edwards should at least get the LB position if he can't get into the midfield. George Best should be here as well, but it's tough leaving one of the attackers out. This is my team: (4-4-2) Schmeichel (GK) Edwards (LB) Rio and Vidic CB partnership, Neville right back, Giggs (lm) Keane and Scholes cm partnership, Best (rm) and Sir Bobby Charlton as a kind of a 2nd striker and then Wayne Rooney who completes the team. Really hard time choosing between Ronaldo and Giggs. The striker position as well. Law, RVN and Cantona are so close man.

I've given this a go. Included legends and who I'd replace them with from just players I have seen in [square brackets] GK Schmeichel RB Irwin (he was naturally right-footed (check his free-kicks) and a better player than G Neville) CB Stam CB Ferdinand LB Evra RCM Beckham LCM Keane ACM Charlton [Scholes, but dropping deeper] RF Best [Giggs] CF Law [Rooney] LF C Ronaldo So it is a hybrid 4-3-3 / 4-2-3-1. The wide forwards could switch as necessary, but I wanted Ronaldo cutting into the box to run onto crosses from Beckham - I see us getting a lot of goals that way - so I've got CR on the left for now.

@@bl8589 cheers for the thoughts, though to be honest this was a year ago and my opinion on some of this has changed since then. I think I'd go with Rio and Vidic together now - Stam is great but maybe it is better to go with the better CB partnership, and those two balance each other out nicely. I did have Best in the original XI. Charlton has to get in though for sure. Second best footballer to ever play for United (after CR). Not sure what position would best suit him in a modern game and I don't have a settled idea for a XI right now, but Charlton would be part of it for sure. Keane would still be one of the first names on my list. Such a good all-round footballer, tactically and positionally versatile, technically excellent and has that grit and leadership you almost always need at least some of in midfield. Picking between Scholes, Beckham and Giggs is always going to be a challenge, and what the rest of the team ends up looking like would probably determine who I'd choose from them. Plus, with just 11 places so many worthy players are going to have to miss out: Edwards, Robson, Carrick, RVN, Tevez, RVP etc we haven't even mentioned yet.

Cantona was an outstanding player, but to put him in over Law, Keane, Best and Cole(who've all won a EC/CL) is beyond me. I think I would have put Best in for Ronaldo and put Ronaldo in front with Rooney. I know Ronaldo did not play in that position for ManU, but he easily could

Keane Cole are not better than Cantona he was the key to the success of Sir Alex early career. R9 didn't win the Champions League is he still not great? The thing about United is you could make 3 teams out of how many great players we had. It's just opinions. I would put Irwin RB and play Evra.

@@Abdi-libaax It's not the BEST ManU XI, but the GREATEST ManU Xl. Yes, Cantona was probably a better footballer than Keane or Cole, but he is not a GREATER ManU player than Keane or Cole. They both won more league titles with ManU than Cantona, plus they won a CL.There is a diffference between the best and the greatest. Ibrahimovic was also important in the 16/17 season, and is probably technically a better footballer then Denis Law for instance, but I would never choose Ibrahimovic over Law in an ManU All Time Xl. That's just crazy! And Ronaldo won 2 World Cups, a Cup Winners Cup and an UEFA Cup. He is an all time great for those reasons. What mayor international trophies did Cantona win? Some league titles doesn't make you an all time great imo

And you bringing in international football is strange so the question is did Cole Keane Best win the world cup? Best is definitely one of greatest if not the goat. You can have great players who did not win the champions League or World cup but average players win it I give you examples if you like. But everyone knows how hot headed Cantona was, it was only SAF who could handle him. His international career he clashed with managers swearing at them in press conferences. The champions League the class of 92 players won't in their primes you can't put it on Cantona for United not winning the champions League. There are countless United fans who would say contona is greatest but I mean no disrespect but go find one saying Cole is the greatest apart from you 😅

@@Abdi-libaax I still think you don't understand there is a difference between best and greatest. And international means a game or contest between teams representing different countries in a sport. Which could also mean European football like the Cup Winners Cup, UEFA Cup or Champions League. Keane, Cole and Best all won the Champions League/European Cup with ManU. Cantona never did. Neither did he win a EUROs or World Cup with France. And I never said Cantona wasn't a great ManU player, just not as great as the players I mentioned in my first response. They were also good footballers, plus they left a bigger mark on the history of the club than Cantona did imo. That's why I feel they should be picked over Cantona in an ManU All Time Xl

How on earth can you leave out ronaldo I know a lot of people don’t like him but he is the best player Man Utd have ever had easily

B L Because I prefer having the holy trinity. Ronaldo is a good player I can't disagree but for me he's not the best United player in Man Utd history. Sir Bobby Charlton is the best United player ever for me. Now what Ronaldo did George Best have done better (apart from the free kick and scoring goal). George Best play football like it's a magic show, a more entertaining football. Eric Cantona may not score goals but the impact he had on the team and the magic he create on the pitch is just amazing and for me he's the best No.7 apart from George Best.

Pyro TGR I cant believe your saying Christians ronaldo who is regarded as the second best footballer of all time is the 3rd best number 7 at Man U, I understand these are all amazing old school players but but them on a pitch with ronaldo he would make them look silly, he can do everything from the best skill in the world, to breaking the Man U record for goals in one season, free kicks corners penalties he did everything the best

B L Mate sometime we need to stop looking at goals, number and god damn news and start looking at the performances. Ronaldo yes he is a good player but for fuck sake he's not the second best footballer of all time, not even top 5. What Ronaldo did George Best and Sir Bobby Charlton have done it 60 years ago on a corn field, with a heavy leather ball and facing 4 defenders waiting to break their leg just so that they won't play. And only if you have watch King Eric Cantona you will know how special he is and proving that Ronaldo ain't no match for King of Manchester himself. Ronaldo is better than Cantona at scoring goals and set pieces that's for sure, but the magic that King Eric create on the pitch is so special that I wish I was born much much sooner just so I can watch him play.

Pyro TGR to me it just sounds like you are a ronaldo hater, the people ronaldo are up against today are 1000x better than charlton and bests opponents, any knowledgeable football pundit etc would agree that ronaldo along with Messi Pele and maradona are the best players ever, I understand stats can be misleading but when his stats are that ridiculous they can’t be ignored no one has got near 40 goals in one season, from the midfield!! And all you need to do is watch some old videos of ronaldo at Man Utd and the way he played the skill and intelligence backs up his stats, as even Alex Ferguson said himself ronaldo is the best player to ever play at Man U
