Thomas you may need to revisit the use of Coconut Oil. Also the MCT component in Coconut Oil is extremely low so its better to take Coconut Oil by itself. Check this study www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2018/08/22/harvard-professor-coconut-oil-pure-poison/1060269002/

Long before I started Keto, I added salt, pumpkin pie spice, and cayenne pepper to my coffee grounds before brewing. A couple of years ago, I added turmeric and black pepper. Since the spices don't really incorporate into the coffee post brewing, I suggest adding them prior. You still get the added benefits and flavor, but you don't get the pesky spices floating around in your cup.

I've been putting cinnamon & sea salt in my keto coffee for a while, just because I like how it changes the flavor. I started adding nutmeg last week because it makes the coffee taste like Christmas. I didn't realize it was so beneficial. Guess I found a way to make Christmas last all year round...well, in my coffee, at least.

A classic spice blend for Mexican chocolate is cacao/coco, cinnamon, cayenne, and salt. It’s delicious when added to coffee or coconut milk (hot chocolate)with a little non caloric sweetener of your choice. Adding the ghee and coconut oil with the coffee makes it a tasty bulletproof ” concoction...so good!

Thankyou for this Video was looking for way to improve my bulletproof coffee experience . Just a suggestion after I tried making the same with cold brew coffee , the coconut oil and ghee don't combine together, My suggestion is to have tsp of ghee on empty stomach first as it has many benefits on its own, like lining the stomach walls, according the traditions in India. Then mix above spices with coffee and coconut oil separately, as they blend together perfectly for cold or hot brewed coffee. Just a thought after experimenting with the recipe..

Regarding the use of cinnamon, I would STRONGLY encourage using Ceylon cinnamon (throw in 1 capsule and it will dissolve in the hot coffee) instead of using the more available but highly toxic Cassia cinnamon. Cassia is the type you find in the spice section of your grocery store. It is high in coumarin and high levels can cause liver damage. Ceylon, on the other hand, is extremely low in coumarin and is usually found at a specialty vitamin store (e.g., The Vitamin Shoppe or GNC).

Remember spices are high in oxalates - use sparingly. Try simmering Chaga Mushroom pieces (about the same size as chia seeds) with spices of your choice - after 20 minutes pour the spicy Chaga tea over your freshly ground coffee - then blend in oils. I love Chaga in coffee. Chaga also lowers the acidity. I buy my Chaga from Harmonic Arts harvested from Canadian forests.

I never thought about putting salt into my coffee, just got the idea today from another video. I'll try it tomorrow. Where's your report ;)

@@Meisterling since posting this comment. Honestly I’ve only added pink salt premier labs 3x a week for about a month and I just kept forgetting to add it again. So I’ve been enjoying my coffee straight black for some time now lol.

Try Cayenne chillies. I loose a lot of weight when I use a ton of it in my food. It's amazing!

Must specifically use Ceylon cinnamon. This is what works to control sugar levels. Fake cinnamon, like Saigon or Vietnamese, does not assist in sugar levels, but the larger amount of coumarin in it can thin the blood.

Okay so in and around the ‘70’s I used to wait for my mom to get of day shift in a little diner where she would let me make coffee for the house and she shook a salt shaker in the coffee before brewing... I remember asking her why (I was 5?) she said BECAUSE I said so 😂 Thanks for all the valuable information Thomas

I know this is forever late, but adding salt to coffee has some history in the USA. Soldiers on deployments or in war would add salt to their coffee because it eliminates staleness. Adding salt to coffee kind of tricks our tastebuds into thinking the coffee is much fresher than it actually is. America has a historically awful coffee culture (in general) throughout the years. We were originally a tea drinking country until the boston tea party happened.

Would pre-mixing these spices in a little jar be a problem? Save opening and measuring 6 or 7 things out every morning…
