Had a coworker die from kava addiction (no kidding). He was taking these "Feel Good" bottles of Kava. Very addicted to them. Over the past year his eyes started turning yellow, his hands were peeling, he was getting colds all the time, water retention. Ended up dying of liver failure. I'd take the kava advice with a grain of salt. Look into it.

Hi, I’m sorry about your coworker. Kava and GABA are very different. Kava is an herb sold for sleeping, there are tinctures, tea, and pills. GABA is different, is a chemical produced by our brain, and now there are supplements formulated chemically.

Two kinds of receptors you really DON'T want to mess with are opioid receptors and GABA receptors. Common drugs that affect GABA receptors are valium, Xanax, and barbiturates, among others. Loading up the GABA receptors has the same body effect as with opioids. You become addicted. The problem with withdrawal from GABA meds is it can kill you with seizures. Here's how addiction works. The body has a normal percentage of filled GAGA receptors (or opioid receptors). When the body frequently fills MORE than that percentage of receptors, the body makes more of that kind of receptor...because it's the PERCENTAGE of filled vs empty receptors that is important. Same with tobacco. When you have been flooding the system with the drug, and the body has made a lot more of those kind of receptors, and you stop the inflow of the drug, the body suddenly has way too many of that kind of receptor OPEN and screaming for the drug. That's when all the bad stuff happens.

You have to be CAREFUL with neurotransmitters. There is a balance there. You can't just slam yourself with one and think they'll do exactly what it does to the next person. It's why SSRIs don't work for everyone's depression. Just because something works for a lot of people, doesn't mean it'll work for you. Until we have more widespread neurotransmitter level testing, you're just doing experiments on your brain when you use these things that influence neurotransmitters (yes, doctors are doing experiments on you when they prescribe meds that influence your serotonin, dopamine, etc.).

They help to shut off too much mental overthinking right before bed time. But your Tro Calm sponsor overcharges for their supplements. They charge $30 for 4 or 8 servings of Gaba?! Maybe if they charged less than half that price I would be willing to try their products. I noticed that a lot of your sponsors want to sell to folks who own BMWs or Mercedes cars. ha ha ha.

Hi Thomas, how about changing your thumbnail? "Better than caffeine" when your title says the strongest neurotransmitter for Fat Loss & Sleep, is an oxymoron. Caffeine is not meant for sleep to begin with, so the relation between whatever you are advertising and caffeine is really not there for the sleep part.

14:47 You should talk about meditation more often, there's a significant body of research showing the important role it plays in various aspects of human health, from neurotransmitters balance to immune function modulation. Dr. Joe Dispenza and his team published a peer-reviewed paper in late 2023 demonstrating that the more proficient you are at meditation the more your blood plasma contains a protein that protects you against Covid.

Hello, I had a serious nervous breakdown in 2010. I couldn’t take any medications given so healed naturally. I did that by taking protein powders and eating meat. When I did blood test it showed I was very very low on all the amino acids, which a person gets from meats, fish, poultry, or protein powders. You also need lots of animal fat. So, I would eat fatty meats, any that you like. Could be tuna, salmon, beef, eggs, yogurts. It sure helped me, I am medication free, and feel good,

I think you're wrong Thomas about oxalates clearing from the body. The overall pH pressure on the body has everything to do with clearing oxalates. Those that eat a high meat diet without enough alkaline foods have urine that is much lower in ph. Either supplementing with bicarbonate or upping your alkaline forming food content until your urine pH is higher than neutral will dissolve oxalates out of the kidneys. Oxalates actually have some health benefits but become a problem when there's too much acid forming foods going into the diet. Now don't be confused as to whether or not the food is alkaline or acidic in the form before we eat it. The alkaline diet is based on the pH of the metabolites created after your food is absorbed into the body. I have several clients that have cleared kidney stones by shifting to a high alkaline diet. Archaeological evidence suggests that our ancestors often ate as much as 100 g of fiber a day. I still don't think you're eating enough vegetables Thomas. And I think that you might have general anxiousness because you're not taking enough magnesium to compensate for the fact that when you work out and exercise as much as you do, you burn through so much more magnesium. Some of my heavy lifting athletic clients have to take three times the daily value of magnesium to feel balanced in their mood
