EXTREMELY HELPFUL and enlightening email I received back from Sonnax:
"It has been my experience that 15-16 is usually right about where the OE sits brand new I consider this to be acceptable. When you start seeing numbers lower than 15 it’s a sign of light wear starting. I find if I have a reading of about 10 a drop in valve will get me back up to about 15- 16 again which is perfectly fine. 18-20 is better than OE and is about as tight as you want the valve (pin in your case) to be. Anything higher that 20 makes me nervous 25 is completely sealed no leakage and is a stuck valve. in the 20 range you have take into consideration warpage of the valve body as you bolt it down with a tight tolerance if this bore flexes a little bit it could cause sticky valve or even a completely stuck one. Vacuum testing is one of those things you learn over time and experience I know there are a couple of valve bodies that have bores that read 7 brand new and is totally acceptable so keep testing and trying to record your results and before you know it you will have a baseline."
