Unless the instructions direct you to install the right and left camshaft gears that way, you have put them on the wrong sides of the engine. They are marked L and R and it appears that you have the sides reversed. Just an observation. My kit is on the way and then I will find out what's up. Well done video, DIY Garage!

Music stops after about 30 seconds. Was tempted to skip it myself. However the actual build is in absolute silence. Really enjoyed it!

I had a friend that I worked with at Harrah's Reno. That once worked for the famous Harrah's Auto Collection. If they needed a special part for one of the cars, and it wasn't available. He'd make it! After the collection was sold. He went into the engineering dept. And spent the time until he eventually retired. Making mini engines like this. All from scratch. Unbelievably Talented...

almost 30 years ago at a tractor show a man had a scratch built 1/6 scale (GI jOE size) John Deere "B" that ran on model airplane fuel. I found out he'd made it from original JD plans and all the casting made then machined them all. It had a working hand clutch and transmission. Even the rolling stock was hand made from molds and they were rubber.

Woooooooooah I'm so subbing. I was thinking to myself, "man, the only way to improve this video is to say/show what the name of the part is." Then I checked the subtitles just in case, and there they were. Mind. Blow.

This is oddly satisfying to watch

Great video! I would have liked to see each individual part named as you installed them, im new to learning the different parts of the engine. Otherwise this was super helpful.

@DIY Garage - You must have noticed that the cam lobes don't even contact the tappets - you can correct that by attaching the tappets with just 3 turns instead of tightening all the way down. That's what I did on mine and the valves all work properly and have a much more realistic action to them. I also bought some additional light grease and applied it liberally to all contact points. The engine runs both smoothly and quietly! You're welcome, and that will be $5.00 Lol

Well engineered, all metal motors with hundreds of machined parts are not cheap to make, even in China!

this model Overhead Camshaft Engine (OHC) is a better design than Overhead Valve Engines (OHV) that use push rods and rocker arms. I wish all engines could be this simple!

This is a kit for sale for around €350 if I am not mistaken. There also is a timing chain tensioner as you can see him adjust it.

There is excessive valve train float and the crankshaft needed some bearings that grinding was killing me.

Yes many things are missing from this engine because its for demo. Variable valve controls, pcv, egr, bearings, gaskets, piston rings etc which would make it very complex

There needs to be more grease on that crankshaft it sound rough

@@user-hp5tu1yi1e да он много чего не смазывал, шатуны например или пальцы в поршня.. да и вообще в этом моторе много мелких деталек не пресутствует, видемо за их нанадобностью 😁 но это всёравно крутая вещь! Я бы от такого не отказался!
