Mini Harley Davidson Panhead Engine (Sounds Like the Real Thing)
Ойын-сауық
I set up and test run this miniature Harley-Davidson panhead engine, I handmade a custom set of tuned exhaust headers, I design them a certain way to see if I could get that very well known Harley-Davidson engine sound.. and to my surprise it came out absolutely amazing.
this thing sounds so similar to a real engine just scaled down.
this is a nearly exact scale replica of a Harley Davidson panhead engine it is very very impressive.

well when you think of it, Harleys use engines smaller than a Honda civic. for engines like this, the tune, intake, cam, crank, and configuration matter more than the actual size, while an American v8 makes its sound from displacement and overlapping exhaust in large pipes. its its truly a work of art, to make good sounding engines

Incredible. Very good work here
Just a little FYI for those out there that are fans of miniature engines. The heating and cooling properties are not a linear relationship. It’s actually pretty complex set of engineering calculations. I only say this so you understand an air cooled engine like this could have massive heat dissipation issues. It could burn up in seconds. The oil cooling and lubrication has the same problem, it doesn’t scale in a linear fashion either. Even on something that started as a reliable large engine design may only last you a few hours in a scaled version.
@voornaam3191
Жыл бұрын
That's why moped engines are impossible. They don't exist. Mopeds ride on pure magic. Everybody needs at least 10 inch diameter pistons. Not because of the valve size and the amount of fuel getting burned, no, because of the non-linear relations involved. Large is far easier. Nano scale is extremely complicated. There's a Nano Harley, but nobody sees it. You need a microscope and the thing gets lost in no time. And the cooling issues, off Corse. How complicated this world is. Pfew!

They don't fire on the same "cycle." When the rear cylinder is at TDC on the compression stroke (firing) the front cylinder is approaching TDC on the exhaust stroke . Due to the 45 degree bank angle and 720 degrees making two complete revolutions that leaves 315 degrees between one firing event and 405 to the next. That's what gives the "potato potato" sound

On each power stroke the engine puts power into the inertia flywheel. The flywheel is heavy and maintains its movement pulling the engine into next firing stroke - this engine would never run without it because the of the time between firings. A 6 cylinder modern engine like my vitesse 2.0 can have a small flywheel because of the number of firings is enough alone to keep the engine spinning. The big old agricultural engines do have a flywheel with multiple cylinders not because of firing order but because of low speed, a Fairbanks-Morse 32E engine might idle at 75-100rpm, the Vitesse/Herald engine idles at 750.
i heard the crank shaft over the exhaust from the start. cool Little engine
this has to be one of the coolest things I've ever seen lol
Big Fan Bro Big Fan♥ heck yeah!! 😁🤘
Not sure what inner diameter pipe you used for your exhaust but that dimension is critical if you're trying to duplicate the flow, scavenging & sound behavior of the full size system. Great projects & videos. It's time I hit the subscribe button.
Thats a piece of art!!
this guys is crazy man . masterpiece
Even leaks oil like a real Harley :)
Just some advice from a 50 year pan owner, old harleys ‘s should be accelerated slowly and smoothly for long engine life. Maybe a fan blowing on the engine would be a good idea.

Another option would be to stop buying Harley's and buy a quality bike that's actually worth the money. Harley Davidson is a perfect example of blind loyalty to a brand just because, they're just way too much money for a sub par product. Why would Harley invest in producing a better product when people are still lining up with a fist full of cash?

@@kwantoon Couldn't have said it better. Harley is nothing more than cult. I'll stick to my Honda bikes.
