I've seen everyone on KZread destroy these out of the box on the first run. They all seem to have ignition problems, the Pan especially. I thought an oil pump was available as an accessory. Fuel mix to me leaves the bottom end dry. I love the looks and like the real thing deserve respect. Properly mounted, better pipes or trim the supplied ones to drag stile. C'mon Steve. Set it up properly. Everyone else on KZread has destroyed these little wonders straight out of the box. I'd love one and If I could afford one, I wouldn't be wrecking it. Can't wait to see it run well in your hands Steve. 🙏🇦🇺I stand corrected, Johnny has a Panhead running, like you, he has skills.

I'm glad I took the time to notice that you make a habit of running these engines straight out of the box with no tuning. Has someone new to this hobby, I think I wouldn't have bothered without that disclaimer. Otherwise the idea of spending 500 bucks on a tiny engine without water cooling and that needs a drill to start it and stalls frequently and is kind of finicky just doesn't seem too smart. But no one's ever accused me of being brightest bulb on the planet, so maybe something like this is in my future after all. Really looking forward to seeing if you can get it to run well and what you did to get it there. There is a fair amount out there on the V1 engine, but hardly any on the V2 yet. My plan is to build it into a vehicle that should be going fast enough to have the air cooling work well enough. I would really want to use regular gas though, because it sounds like Nitro is really expensive and can be tricky to run well consistently, especially during changes of temperature. A couple of questions: 1) you say it will run on gas but I'm imagining you would need different plugs. Do you know which ones those are, and is that all you would need? 2) that toothed gear on the drive shaft looks particularly useful, not only to connect to a propeller or wheels, but also to rig to starter. From the few small engines I've looked at, it looks like many of them can fairly easy accommodate adding an electric starter, I'm wondering if this engine is an exception? 3) I heard somewhere along the way that running an engine too cool can be as bad for it as running it too hot. It would suck to have this engine run lousy or even grenade itself inside for being off on temperature one way or the other. The only idea that comes readily to mind is Jerry rigging an adjustable air barrier to basically lower when the engine is running hotter, and raise when it is getting too cool. Is there a better way of regulating temperature with this kind of engine? Does it say in the manual or do you have an idea as to what the ideal running temperature range of the engine is? Any tips on remote Bluetooth type engine temperature gauges, and where best to put the sensor? To me, either this or the mini engamor (sp?) V8 qualify as the best sounding engines in this hobby. Huge difference in price, but to me they are both pretty expensive for what they are. I don't think I could justify buying either or getting into this hobby at all if I knew at the outset that these engines are really designed to be no more than desktop toys. Either that or they are too difficult or too unreliable to bother integrating into a cool RC vehicle. I know very little about this Hobby. Can anyone care to chime in as to how well these little engines might hold up in a decently designed RC setup, or are they really designed to be nothing more than overpriced desktop noise makers? (regardless of how much I like their sound) I'd love to hear any feedback on any of these observations, either here in the comments or in a future video. Damn it I hate how good these sound and how much of a pain in the ass they're probably going to be if I ever get one, lol.
