The food is the most important one in my eyes. Pretend you're an italian mom hosting dinner. Have more food than you think you'll eat. Also scream light weight baby at various points throughout the day.

Some other good tips: 1. Read the organization's rule book. USAPL and USPA in my opinion are the best in the USA. Know the commands. Read the book again. 2. Attend a local meet to see how things go before you even enter one. Help out one of your friends who's competing there with small things, like getting them water or food or cheer them on, or sit in the audience and take notes tracking how long it is for a lifter between attempts. 3. When you do enter a meet, read the social media posts that the meet directors send out (FB page, emails, etc.). You'll probably have a gazillion questions, and the meet directors usually answer all or most of them in their periodic posts/emails.
