29 foxes • 100 hares • The Kill Zone • 223 • 17hmr

Solo 3 night trip on an 8000 acre sheep and cropping property in NSW Australia. Magnificent country, there are well maintained laneways all through this farm and most of my shooting was vehicle based. Running the Sako 223 topped with a Pulsar Trail2 XP50 LRF for the foxes and longer shots. Using my Cogswell & Harrison 17hmr topped with the HikMicro Panther PQ50L LRF for the hares and rabbits.
Long nights, lots of kilometres covered and plenty of action. 29 foxes, over 100 hares, a few rabbits and 1 feral cat.
Lots of trigger time and an awesome result. Can't wait to get back down there for lambing season this winter.

I appreciate the humane way you dispatch the animals. I am a cat lover but I understand how they have gone feral and are wreaking havoc on local critters. I also fly fish. You could make a bit of $$$ with the fur of the rabbits/hares and the foxes for tying of flies for fresh water and marine fishing. Animals carcasses are also good in the compost pile rather than a burn pit. Greetings from the eastern foothills of Alberta Canada.

What's the problem with foxes though? Don't they keep the rabbits down? We don't have them here in NZ

How funny is this! Sitting at my computer desk at home, hand resting the the mouse, I found myself moving the mouse to help you aim the crosshairs! Well I was onto my second glass of red:)

Missed this one somehow. What an awesome property and quality shooting Rodney! Your and Nathan’s videos are as professional as any hunting videos I’ve seen. Love the report of the 223!

I’m genuinely impressed with both of your optics. Enough that I had to screenshot your description so I can research them when the sun comes up on this side of the pond.
