Winter Foxes & Feral Cat's
Ойын-сауық
Winter lambing protection.
Foxes were the target species this trip with thousands of lambs being born. Shooting some feral cats was a huge bonus as we all know how devastating they are to our native wildlife.
Running the Sako 85 bolt action chambered in 223. Southern Cross Small Arms Q2 suppressor and ADI World Class 55gr ammunition.
Thermal equipment used this trip was the Pulsar Helion2 Pro XP50 • Pulsar Trail2 XP50 LRF thermal scope • HikMicro Panther PQ50L LRF thermal scope and the NightRide Scout 19mm 640 remote control roof mount.
5 properties covered over 3 nights saw 36 foxes shot. Be back down in another few weeks to do it all over again. Big shout out to my offsider Ian for the help and great company. I generally run solo so it was great to be able to share the experience with a great mate.

I can understand why most people not from Australia (America) would be upset about videos like these but having friends from Australia seeing from their point of view yeah feral cats are a huge problem for a lot of the wild life across Australia, Keep up the good work protecting the wildlife and farm animals one pest at a time, also lovely marksmanship!

The exceptional care you put into your shots, and also the care you show for the farmers and their land is really inspiring. You are going a great job out there champ. By the looks you are most satisfied when you get the feral cats. Cats don't even have to be feral, they are born hunters, someone had one that used to come to visit us all the time and in one occasion I've seen him jump up higher than a meter and with only one paw grabbed a bird.

I loved seeing your Sako rifle. I had them in a couple of calibers back in the 80’s. The palm swell and cheek weld was the best in the market at that time. No other rifle maker came close. @@RJMHuntingAustralia Hi, although I live in UK, I have several Aussie friends who are also hunters/shooters. One of them sends me the SSAA magazine every month, so I thought I had a good idea of the norms of shooting in Australia. Two big differences seem to be that in UK we usually use support sticks and moderators. You are using both, which makes you unusual. Makes perfect sense to me (and its working well for you - well done... terrific shooting!). I was under the impression, and have been told by several of my Aussie friends that it was effectvely impossible to be able to use a Moderator/Supressor in Australia. Clearly this isn't the case, and i'm wondering where they are getting their information from because it looks to be wrong. Can you explain why this seems to be the case?
@RJMHuntingAustralia
Жыл бұрын
Your friends are spot on buddy. I am only able to use them as I am a professional contract shooter and they are for business use. Even then there was a heap of red tape and took nearly a year fir me to get my prohibited weapons permits. (suppressors) Now I have to re apply ever 5 years to keep them.
