Overrun With Rabbits || They're everywhere
Ойын-сауық
Out on a contract job with my 22 calbre air rifle tonight.
This place is Overrun with rabbits.
It's always very challenging when your'e engaged to control pests on small farms like this. With the highway in the background as well as several horses on the property, rifle and pellet choice was a critical factor.
Over 100 rabbits removed from this site in just under 4 hours.
We collected and harvested all the rabbits from tonights shoot, so nothing will go to waste.
I'll do a follow-up visit in a couple of weeks.
My setup consisted of the HikMicro Panther PQ50L V2.0 thermal scope on my .22 calibre FX Impact Mk3 air rifle. Certainly a lethal combination. Running Cometa 18.13gr pellets at 900fps.

Every time I see your vids of bunny busting that green eyed monster comes out. I learned how to shoot back in the 70s with a sportco 62s and bunnies were the main target, skins went for fur, meat on the table and the marksmanship stayed with me through 20 yrs in the infantry. So watching you brings back a lot of great memories for an old digger, thanks.

That's a LOT of rabbit stew! Sprinkle salt and freshly ground pepper on the rabbit legs and coat them in flour. Cut a few garlic cloves in half. Fry the legs in butter until they are nicely browned. Add the garlic and some sprigs of fresh thyme. Deglaze with mustard, cooking cream and stock and let it cook over low heat for an hour with the lid on the pan. Remove the legs from the pan, remove the garlic cloves and thyme sprigs and thicken the sauce with a thickener. Season with salt and pepper.

Bob, the last time I got rabbit at woolies, it had so much fat it turned me off. joe
Remind me of a session at fort Nelson in Hampshire England about 20year back . When the public went home after a cannon demo the site manager asked if we could bring some guns, so we started by dividing the fort up in sections and on my alloted bit I started with a falcon 8 shot PCP and I ran out of gas and ammo after nailing about 50 .so I came back and lost count . between the group we must of done 200 and we could not believe our eyes as every morning they were all gone ! The fort was designed to counter Napoleon the third from attacking Southampton and Portsmouth but never got used until ww2 as an ammo store and a anti aircraft position. The fort is built so at ground level you can hardly see it . From inside you have a deep steep trench which makes a fantastic bunny home .the fireing steps gives the defence a place to reload the single shot guns of the 1870-80s period so perfect to hide at about 20m from the buns , I ended up trying every type of gun we had with us from matchlock musket to percussion enfields on up to semmi 12 g for the runners .best mini safri ever. New management got professionals in and installed drop traps and ruined the fun 😊

However with all the diseases the C.S.I.R.O. have used to try to eradicate the buggers, I'm not so sure about whats safe any more. Used to enjoy wild pork as well, but now they are full of diseases, or at least we are told so. At least i can still enjoy the hunt, thanks to you. have a good one mate.

One day, we decided to be adventurist, heading over to Brighton Beach in Brooklyn, Russian district, to try Russian food. We have no idea what's on the menu and what to order, so naturally, look over to next table to see what the Russian ordered .... a whole big wabbit. I tink it's wabbit soup. We passed, no wabbit soup. But one day, I'd like to try BBQ wabbit, it must be good.
Great effort Rod. That is an unbelievable amount of rabbits. 👍

Wow some serious numbers there mate. Great work
mmmm so I am partial to rabbit Bourguignon in red wine a French country dish. 1. quarter the carcass 2. place in plastic bag of plain flour mixed with herbs salt and pepper (your choice-Rosmery, thyme, parsley)? 3. fry sides of rascally wabbit in oil and butter (low heat so you don't burn the butter) but not to cook through just braise sides for flavour, add whole baby onions, chopped carrots and quartered potatoes to the fry and toss until golden. 4. pour in stock, beef, chicken up to you. 5. place on top of oven for 40 minutes until the meat softens. 6. remove all the meat and vege to a separate container 7. reduce the fluids in the pot. casserole dish until half and set aside. 8. add a bottle of strong red wine cabernet sav and cook the alcohol out of it to a quarter at least slowly not fast. 9. add to reduction liquid and add the wabbit and vege, whole mushrooms and cut up parsley for garnish later. 10. place casserole back in the oven at 150* for an hour or less, keep checking to make sure the liquid hasn't overly evaporated. P.S I've done this in a camp oven over coals but successfully have done this on modern compliances. Serve with green vege, garnished and French bread sticks and butter........delicious bon appetite loves 🐰🐰🐰🐰happy easter everyone
