Ya know it DOES somehow seem much less prestigious and important than it seemed to be in say .. the 80's. Why do you imagine that is? Rise of internet culture and thousands of new entertainment options? In the last few years I've held a similar discussion regarding the Olympics. It seemed to be SUCH a bigger deal when I was young. Whether due to lack of options, the long standing competition between the US and the Soviets, or something else, don't really know.

You forgot a HUGE one... Vesna Vulović was 23 and working as a Jugoslavenski Aerotransport hostess when she survived a fall from 10,160 m (33,333 ft) over Srbská Kamenice, Czechoslovakia, on 26 January 1972. According to the official accident report, an explosion tore the DC-9 she was working aboard to pieces in mid-air. Vulović was the only survivor. As for me... I'm working on owning the biggest collection of the film Natural Born Killers in the world! I currently own over 170 editions from 27 countries on 7 different formats! Along with a host of other memorabilia. When I find the time, I do plan on giving Guiness a call.

To fall off the curb would have meant an imminent collision with traffic and there was no place to stop. This was one of those times I wished I had a Go-Pro to document the event as there is no way in hell I would ever do that again. I walk, talk, drive, have a job, I just have issues when I reach critical mass which would be maybe 20% of the time if I try to function at full steam and 10% when I try to take care of myself and have more breaks.

I carried these men with arms wrapped around my neck 334 feet 3 inches and a quarter of a inch. This is a indigenous game that resembles carrying caribou long distances. The woman under 2 ft. tall and under 4 lbs just didn't seem possible. A quick search shows their have been several. This is mind blowing. As far as the obese records go, no one can possibly get that fat without the aid of an enabler. I doubt anyone over 500 lbs.could make it to the refrigerator on their own much less hold a job to support themselves. Imagine the hospital staff that had to care for that 1200 lb. guy that held 900 lbs. of fluids. Did they use a 55 gallon drum for a bed pan? To think that person was allowed social security disability benefits and the wasted millions of dollars spent on hospitalization. Somebody should be doing time in prison.

I wonder if they counted people with NF1, Treacher Collins syndrome and severe facial clefts such as a Tessier cleft or the ones that involve the mandible before they declared the winner of the most cosmetic surgery. Because I am pretty sure some of those kids unfortunate enough to be born with facial deformities could give that winner a run for the money.

FYI massive, rapid weight loss can actually *cause* premature death; as attributed by both winners (or losers? 🤨) of these records. The cause is often multiple organ failure, but it can also be that the overweight people have lost the fat in the wrong places on the body. Fat is present in many places that are beneficial, including the thighs, the buttocks or around the heart muscle. Some of these deaths can be from thrombolytic stroke (fat molecules that break off can enter the blood stream and go to the heart or lungs)

What about a list of records that are too dangerous that Guinness won't put into their books or have quit putting into their books? I wouldn't try any of these at all! That woman who lost that weight in only 3 months makes you wonder how? I can think of a few: starvation, meth, coke..although I don't know if you can lose 500 lbs or whatever in 3 months from starvation.

At #18, you mentioned someone dying at age 41. Sadly enough (as of 1-26-20), another someone had set records and died at age 41. (R.I.P., KB!!)

This (question) literally has nothing in common with the countdown, but I'm pretty sure I'll implode if I don't ask. I've noticed more recently your "List25" features something I've never seen in previous episodes: The interior of your living quarters. I'm just curious--what brought on this change of scenery?
