I had a type of meningitis called "meningococcal septicaemia" when I was 8. According to doctors I was hours away from passing away when my mum took me to hospital, the symptoms started on a Friday evening... the first of which being a bad cramp in my knee. I went to hospital early Saturday morning when my mum noticed the rash. It's now 11 years later and I'm so grateful that I survived and have come out unaffected.

Yep, I’ve had number 10. I had a form of dysentery that goes by the name of shigella. I was extremely dehydrated and when I went to the hospital, I had a 107 degree fever. I was constantly throwing up and was going in and out of consciousness *between sentences.* I was close to dying and had heard a nurse telling my parents that... I was close to going into cardiac arrest... while I was sleeping, with medication in my system at the hospital. They released me later on without knowing what I had and 2 days later they called and explained it was shigella. May I add I was still sick for about another 3-4 weeks.. ... Also, I was 7 years old.

I'm surprised that multiple sclerosis wasn't mentioned. The sufferer's quality of life is affected sometimes without preamble. There's no cause and no cure. The disease is treatable but worsens even with treatment. There are no two cases alike except for being an autoimmune disease that attacks the brain and central nervous system. Vision, balance, motor skills, bladder and bowel control issues, etc. can affect an otherwise independent, healthy person to a person dependant on others for assistance. PEACE

I believe they were trying to list more historical types of diseases/illnesses that have been documented in some form or another for hundreds of years and still occur. A list of 25 could never begin to touch on the full width and breadth of awful diseases. The ones listed aren’t even the worst or most painful/debilitating. Just ones that we don’t always think about being around still... or have been around so long that we no longer take them seriously. MS is definitely a serious and still misunderstood disorder(not sure if it’s labeled as a disease exactly). Thankfully, it has gotten more coverage and received more funding in recent years so maybe it can at least be better controlled since it’s not likely to be truly cured due to it’s nature. Even if it had better diagnostics to find it earlier, it could help control it better. I know I was tested for it a few years back but they didn’t see any lesions on my MRI so they don’t believe it’s what I have.

My sister and I both have had pneumonia due to our asthma. I haven't needed an inhaler in years, but my sister still sometimes occasionally needs it. However, when I caught it, I heavily relied on mine. My sister caught it recently and she doesnt need it as much. Kind of a scary thought. I also have a small form of arthritis on my lower back. Nothing too extreme. But it is still a very sharp uncomfortable pain. I really dont want it to get worse as it is currently untreated now because of how minor it is. I have had a disease/bacteria/virus transmitted to me from a mosquito when I was little. I was in so much care that I remember the cold water placed on my head still. My temperature was constantly rising and my parents were scared for my life. But the fact that it is still a childhood memory kind of shows how horrible it was in my life. I think the most life threatening thing was my pancreas and gallbladder. My liver is in check rn. I'm so young and loon even younger, but my body feels like the body of someone in their 80s and I wish I wants exaggerating.

In 1992, at 8 years old, I contracted chicken pox. My parents threw a “Pox Party”. All my cousins and all the neighborhood kids came over to play with us so they could get it too. When I was 11, I had shingles. In 1995, shingles wasn’t well known and I was a very rare case because of my age. I remember them keeping me in the hospital, quarantined, for 2 weeks.

"I've never heard of anyone bring allergic to......." I've heard that bs way too many times. People can be allergic to water, and you wouldn't just give a PBJ to someone who's allergic to peanuts. Medicine is absolutely no different. Just believe the damn patient when they say they're allergic to something, they know their body's reactions better than any outsider ever will, and it's really not that hard at all to understand and avoid known allergens unless there is no alternative solution, which is quite rare. Several nurses did that shit to me constantly, and I'm only allergic to 3 things within the medical realm. Yes it is completely plausible that someone is, in fact, allergic to something you've "never heard of anyone being allergic to". It's a STUPID saying that can quite literally, kill someone or cause extreme pain and discomfort. I'm sure you can imagine 2nd 3rd degree burns aren't very hive-friendly. Now imagine 2 nurses consistently playing the allergy game under those circumstances. With no pain medicine because they "don't believe in medicine" despite the fact that medicine is literally their career field of choice. It's not fun, at all.

Lauren McC. I managed to convince a daycare that I was allergic to pineapple when I was 3 because I didn't want to eat it. I just said "I'm allergic to that" but it sounded like "algaic". Then, when they made me eat it, I began holding my breath to make my face turn red (to imitate hives), and pretended to gag. They called up my parents and were like "we're sorry, we didn't know he was allergic to pineapple!" And my parents said " what are you talking about?"

It's sad because a person I know very well has arthuritis,(might have spelt that wrong)because they ran for charity on roads when they were younger. The material separating the bones in their knees, was unfortunately worn away because of the impact of hitting the ground at every step. Now, those joints knock together, making it painful to walk or run certain distances. I was also extraordinarily angry when I didn't hear ANY notice of M.S(multiple syrothis). It is an illness, so there is reasoning why it wasn't mentioned in the video. However, M.S is caused by extreme stress and is TERMINAL. With age, multiple syrothis WILL kill. That isn't it, though. While those affected can take treatments such as anti-biotic pills, there are other "side affects" such as unbearable brain damage, loss of memory, fainting, black outs, vomiting, ect. I could possibly even make my OWN video of 25+ affects of this deadly illness. This friend of mine also has this illness, and I always fear the worst for them. It has quite possibly been stated to have no cure, until one day, when doctors developed a way to manipulate stem cell DNA to possibly cure M.S. The treatment has already been tested, with exceptionally successful results. From that day, only last year(2016)my friend has begged and hoped for this option, instead of waiting for death's door to arrive after several steroid- like anti-biotic drugs. If you have felt even slightly touched by this comment, either like it, or show your appreciation by replying by telling me on your thoughts of the illness, and if anyone you know has this.

4 years ago I got septic double pneumonia and was hospitalized for 8 days. I got stuck for lactic acid level blood tests every 4 hours for almost the entire time I was in the hospital and IV antibiotics every 4 hours. It was absolute misery and I was literally at deaths door when I got checked in the ER. I got diagnosed with gout 9 years ago and can honestly say I’d rather be hit by my semi hourly than ever suffer another gout attack. It feels like the affected joints (and limb those are attached to) are being crushed. That’s the best way I can describe the pain of a gout flare. It absolutely sucks to have chronic gout because I never know when it’s going to flare.

#26 Trigeminal Neuralgia. Nicknamed the "Suicide Disorder". In my case the pain was three to five times that of a burn. It is considered the most painful nerve disorder. I was treated with radiation one-third the dose of a brain cancer dose. The treatment cost $30,000 and wasn't 100% successful so I still have to take medication.

catzand dogz I have trigeminal neuralgia too, and there aren't words to describe the pain. I got a microvascular decompression in my brain (my trigeminal nerve is actually wrapped in Teflon), and it pretty much cured it. I've had some very minor attacks, but they're very rare and nowhere near as painful. The recovery wasn't easy, but it's the best decision I ever made.

I’m right there with you guys. I’ve had it for around 7 years and am allergic to tegratol. However, I am very lucky that 600mg of Neurontin 3x a day controls it most of the time. Unfortunately, due to multiple tooth abscesses, I have had 8 oral surgeries in the last year and it tends to flare afterwards. The last surgery was 4 weeks ago included total bone revision on my lower jaw and 50% of the top. Besides the surgical pain, the trigeminal neuralgia also flared so most days are still spent in pain and exhausted.

Good advice !! I've been a trauma health care professional for 20 years ...well done... sepsis yes!!! Red steak up a leg or arm... go to your ER NOW!! I cared for a fellow in a remote location who had sepsis (which was flesh eating disease) and because an incompetent nurse sent the air ambulance to the wrong location, the time of onset of symptoms to getting to the correct location for treatment ended with the poor fellow losing most of his arm.... my guilt to this day haunts me.... so do diligence is VITAL!!

The video's title is the most PAINFUL diseases but you said the most DEADLY diseases. I watched this in the hopes of seeing my favourite disease, Necrotising Fasciitis (flesh eating disease), which releases toxins that destroy tissue and can destroy fist-sized chunks of organs. Also, there is also two different types of plague other than Bubonic: Septicaemic and Pneumonic which are in the blood and lungs respectively. Also, chickenpox doesn't give you lifelong immunity (google it) and arthritis, whatever your parents told you, isn't caused by cracking your knuckles and you can get chickenpox on your eye on account of it being a neural disease.

As someone who has had Scarlett Fever, it is one of the worst experiences of my life. I didn’t have access to antibiotics(foster child with shitty parents at the time) so I was bedridden for like 2 weeks. My fever peaked at 104.8 and stayed there for over a day before it broke, coming down to 101.5 in the tail end. I wound up being taken to the ER by my adopted mother when she came to visit me one day and saw me nearly dead. The consequences of Scarlett Fever? There is nearly a 100% chance I can’t have kids, I have brain damage from the fever and some other mental issues from mistreatment while I had the disease. 0/10 would not recommend

Lol said on a video that stated getting chicken pox naturally gives life long immunity where as chicken pox vax gives temporary immunity- sorry rather get chicken pox as a kid. It was also discovered that kids who got chicken pox vax were less able to fight off h1n1 compared to kids who had natural chicken pox. The tick born disease covered in this vid is a bacteria and pneumonia is caused by bacteria which isn’t even applicable to vaccine. Sepsis is also a bacteria not a virus. Syphilus is also a bacteria meningitis is also a bacteria, gonorea and clamidia is bacterial, arthritis isn’t bacterial or viral, disentary is bacterial, rickets is caused by malnutrition lack of vitamin d, bubonic plaque is caused by bacteria, cholera is bacterial, scarlet fever is bacterial, gout is caused by Uric acid in the blood, tuberculosis is bacterial, leprosy is bacterial. So obviously you don’t know what you think you know. I only agree with you when it came to diphtheria polo and RABIES. I almost died 2 times cus of flu vaccine

He almost ended up in the iron lung. He's in his late 70's now and suffers from a little known disease called Post-Polio Syndrome. For him, he's been losing muscle strength and control in his right leg for over 5 years now. TL;DR he suffered and survived, but it comes back to get you much later in life. That's something more people should be made aware of about polio.

Osteomyilitis of the spine, if left undiagnosed for over a month or two, is a disease that causes paralysis due to the pain. If you move, you scream. Nothing reduces the pain. Months of antibiotics directly to the heart may get the bacterial infection out of the bones of the spine which are otherwise destroying your bones. On my butt for 12-13 months. Legs and arms have severe atrophy. Pain is much reduced after 2 years but meds are still quintessential. Can come back. If so, I will not experience it again. Very few cases in the country/world each year. Many docs learned about the disease T our hospital by observing me. One advantage? I watched nearly the entire Pres campaign...start to finish...from my bed. I'm not sure which was more painful...Trump or Osteomyilitis. Ken....Lowell, MA, USA

Hidradenitis Suppurativa should definitely be on this list too. Its ranked one of 3 of the most painful disease one can have. Its a disease that attacks your Apocrine (Sweat) glands. It causes painful abscesses in areas usually where skin meets skin. In the groin area, under breasts, under arms, in the crease of the butt, ect. It has no cure and very few treatments that actually work. The abscesses tunnel which make the abscess go deep into the skin. I've suffered with HS since I was 13. Have had multiple surgeries and still no luck. It can cause MRSA and Sepsis. I've also had Scarlett Fever in my teens. I'll never forget that. Sickest I have ever been.

I've been septic before. I had an infection that doctors could find and it took me months before I was so bad off that I thought I was dying. The pain was so intense and never ending that just having someone touch me made me scream. The doctors threw me under ice blankets to rapidly cool my body from 105.7 degrees. They eventually told me if I hadn't made it when I did, I'd be dead. They estimated I had 1 to 3 hrs left and my brain/body would have cooked from the inside out. Because of that it actually gave me some brain damage via heat and scar tissue. That damage caused numerous other medical conditions I'm still living with today and have to deal with the rest of my life. I've learned the hard way, you know your body better than any doctor. If you think or know or feel that you're sick, chances are... you're right! Go to the hospital, doctor, anywhere that will help you

Finally as i continued to deteriorate i simply couldn't move or eat anymore. I got to a real hospital-Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla NY-and was diagnosed within 30 minutes. Because it went untreated so long, i had developed a complete large intestine blockage. Most excruciating pain I've ever felt. They told me i only had two more days or so before the intestine ruptured and killed me. Thank God for them, they removed some of the bowel and formed a permanent colostomy. I recovered slowly but well. I have flare ups which are very painful in their own right, but the blockage was almost pass out painful so i deal withthe flare ups you know? I've had one of the worst thing you can imagine in terms of pain, it's called trigeminal nevralgia (or suicidal disease, because people have killed themselves to stop the pain). You can't even go to the doctor because the crisis are too painful. You fall on the floor in pain for a couple minutes, it happens many times a day out of nowhere, and you fear having a crisis while en route to the doctor so you try to get help at home . But the causes of this condition are various. Mine was the ophtalmic variation (so the burn start from the eye and goes all over one one side of the head), it was a complication of shingles, and I still have post-herpetic pain to this day (though it's nothing compared). I'm lucky my trigeminal attacks lasted under 2 months. Doctors say they can come back. There are various treatments including surgery but all seem tentative, like there is not one official treatment that works for all. Tegretol, the main med generally used, didn't work on me. The problem went away on its own while trying meds and meditation or spiritual healing therapy (sounds silly but you'd try anytrhing). I'm lucky for now, some have this for a long time (or life). I heard someone who tried every treatment and nothing worked but cannabis (in vape), but it's just great that they found something that worked because with that condition, it's hell on earth. My coping mechanism was I told myself I had at least 2 to 4 hours between crisis where I felt relatively normal. But the crisis are like torture.

Shit, I had my head removed prematurely by the crazy father of a cute daughter with a chainsaw and some lemon juice. You want pain? But that wasn't even the worst part. It didn't even *really* start to hurt until some wild-eyed Mexican surgeon with a cigarillo in his mouth and a sombrero on the wall pointed to my twitching body over there on the gurney and said "We can re-attach Senior, but we are out of pain Meds! Bite down on this...". He sounded a little like Cheech Marin, but I trusted him, so I bit down on that dirty Make America Great Again towel as they put needle and thread to skin. Zero pain medication. None! I lived to pass on the wisdom of this cautionary tale. Don't get your head removed in Mexico without good health insurance and a pocket full of Percocet. Peace.

I had number 23, it got worse and ended as HELLP Syndrome. It SUCKED, I almost died like three times, the multiple blood transfusions I needed were what nearly killed me since the HELLP Syndrome caused all my red blood cells to turn into enema and my heart nearly failed. It was SO HARD TO BREATHE!

#12 Arthritis, there several forms of this. I have osteoarthritis in my jaw joints, though my upper jaw joints are 98% gone...deteriorated, but the osteoarthritis causes my entire jaw to be in pain. (I have pain in my other facial bones as well, but it’s not as bad as my jaw.) On top of osteoarthritis in my jaw joints, the muscles in my skull get extremely tight and it feels like my entire skull is being crushed, which also causes bad headaches. Unfortunately I’m down in bed a lot from these thing’s. I can’t imagine having the more severe forms of arthritis and my heart goes out to those who do.

Had scarlet fever when I was 15 it was literally the worst two weeks of my life. My fever was 102 or 103 daily. I was rushed to the hospital and then they quarantined my house so I could pass it to anyone else. It was so terrible. Always be cautious when you have strep and be monitored by your doctor.

Please do more research and understand what you are making videos about before publishing them...otherwise you will be spreading false information. Pneumonia is the build up of fluid in the lungs [period]. This build up can be caused by infection [viral or bacterial], aspiration of food or liquids etc. even poor cardiac function or over hydration after being resuscitated and bolused with fluids by IV. Usually we do not aspirate, we fight infection and our cardiac function is able to perfuse and carry away fluids from the lungs, hence no pneumonia.

You forgot Toxic Shock Syndrome, which is bacterial. My Daughter contracted it at 19 while she was in college, fortunately the Doctor at the clinic on campus knew she was seriously ill and carried her out to his car and drove her to the hospital himself. Less than 24 hours after she first felt ill, her major internal organs were shutting down. She spent five days in the hospital and fortunately they caught it in time, the recovery was a long process. She was extremely lucky, time is not on your side if you have symptoms, get to the ER ASAP. It is treatable if you get help in time. I also met a woman once who had to have both legs amputated at the knee, she spent 2 months in a coma as well from this.

I felt like I was dying. I eventually recovered, but it was 5 days of hell. I wouldn't wish it on anyone, even my own worst enemy.
