$230 Sandwich -- 🇯🇵 Wagyumafia Kobe Chateaubriand Cutlet Sando -- The Most Expensive Sandwich?

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I went to Wagyumafia in Japan to taste their $230 Kobe Chateaubriand Cutlet Sandwich. $230?!!! The sandwich is composed of a chateaubriand steak of Kobe beef that has been lightly breaded, deep-fried and served between two slices of white bread with truffle salt, gherkin, and rakyo -- Japanese pickled onion. 😋

Not eating crusts is only seen as childish because it wastes food, and adults are supposed to not waste food/money. People who can afford $230 sandwiches don't care about this and are going for the flavor alone. They simply aren't worried about that extra scrap of belly filling when anyone buying this can afford to eat whenever they want.

Japanese sandwiches are always crustless. The crust on milk bread isn’t great...and they prefer the clean aesthetics. Kobe is crazy expensive so is retail/restaurant space. Tokyo food prices begin on the humble low end at konbini etc but skyrocket with exotic dishes, it’s not hard to drop a grand on one person in Tokyo. It’s not the imperative either...lots of great foods at every price point.

slauthor draws yes, try it. It is an experience. Even Emi couldn’t resist chowing it down in minutes. I tried savoring by chewing for a long time as the flavor. spreads and overwhelms the tastes buds but the sandwich was gone in ten minutes or less. FYI, the teppan steaks are even better. Research the internet and find a Wagyu specialist that serves lunch. A dinner set that is served for $200 can be had for $50. Slightly smaller portions but more than satisfying and can only spend an hour eating but the cost performance is superior.

As a lover of food (my waistline shows this)...I have concluded that in my perosnal opinion - no dish is worth that much money. And putting a high pricetag on such a simplistic dish is just another way to dupe people out of their hard-earned cash. They charge $230USD for a breaded and deepfried piece of fillet (which is heinous), that was served with tonkatsu sauce (can buy this at any asian store), on some cheap wonder bread looking stuff. With fancy salt (that you can get at HomeGoods for like $6) and half a bite of pickle and onion. At most I'd have paid about $20-$30 for that. No food experience is worth paying that much money for. You'll walk away maybe having enjoyed the food, sure...but you'll be questioning why you allowed yourself to spend such a gross amount of money on food. Or maybe this is just me speaking as a person who is poor, who can't afford much more than ramen packets and water.

Indeed. People starving and then this for so much money. I do understand it exists and very rich people are (very) able to eat it, so maybe it's a good thing someone like Emmy gets to eat it now. And in travelprogrammes on television presenters take us with them to hard to reach experiences in this way. It doesn't change that it still is a ridiculous amount of money. Does it deserve advertising, making it normal? People maybe saving up for this (again while people are starving). I regret Emmy doesn't make any note of it being controversial.

Even they want to have something positive, even if it's in a shape of entertainment. Emmy wasn't saying she'll only had this for her life or anything, she just want to share how good the sandwich was to her community, which she knows she couldn't share the real taste, or even stop the world wide economy imbalance. She put the price tag for the sake of telling the community, this good food has a hefty price, so take the content in your own accordance, and that's good enough. There's people who spend their money on worse thing, and you commenting on her video that's not even offensive, it's just a person enjoying good food, is like putting a good person in jail.
