I recently visited the Beginner Woodworking Subreddit and saw a great post where someone asked how to sharpen a carpenter's pencil. The results varied from standard answers, to some a bit more creative, to flat out ridiculous. So, I took 23 of my favorite answers and tried them out.

Pocket knife is the best way. But the knife has to be sharp. Unlike the one used in this video.

@PandawdyBob I can agree my knife was a little dull, but I'll take that challenge. There were probably 6 or 7 ways which were faster, and in some cases better than the knife.
They sell cheap plastic sharpeners for carpenter pencils

@jenkins1979 They do. The two I used in the video sharpened fast, but left the lead a little off center.
