Queen Latifah was a rapper before she was anything else: Actor, Entrepreneur, etc. She's a Hip Hop legend.

And yet this song had a little bit of jazz to and that's what I love about it
FYI, The motorcycle keys in the beginning (she wears around her neck) belonged to her brother who died in an accident.

And she wore that all throughout her seasons on Living Single
Oh the Queen’s freestyle was legendary. Queen and MC Lyte were 2 people you just didn’t want to battle with.
Ladies First is a must - I think Queen and Salt n Pepa were my (white, suburban, sheltered) intro to rap, because before that I didn't think anyone was talking to me.
She's Hip Hop Royalty bro! She also has an entire jazz album called The Dana Owens Album, that's her name. The motorcycles are a shout out to her older brother Lance (Lancelot) he died in a motorcycle crash riding the bike she gave him for his birthday. She wears his keys around neck ever since, 1992 I think.
She was a rapper before she became an actress. You should check out her song "Just Another Day".
she didn't only rap. she made classic albums and led women rappers into an era of positivity, pride, and strength
You should Google her and see how much she's accomplished. She's a GREAT actress too. My favorite movie with her is Set it off. She's called Queen for a reason. She's also the kind of example young girls should look up to. 💖💖💖
Rap has been around since the early 80s and Latifah was one the first female MCs.
Dude she is a pioneer of hip hop she was right there with salt&pepper, shontae,MC Lyte, Run DMC…she is rap royalty literally. And dont get her twisted, she about her show and music label right now, but she hasn’t fallen off…she is still street, and she can go off the dome…her and Roxanne Shontae are hip hop heads to the core and still have skillz
You need to check out " Latifah's Had It Up To Here".
A renaissance woman...love Queen Latifah ❤️
I love that line: you say I'm nothing without you, but I am nothing with you. Those are mind freeing words.
Brandy “I Wanna Be Down” Remix w/Queen Latifah, MC Lyte and Yo-Yo. Ladies First, Just Another Day, Princess of the Posse, Latifah’s Had It Up 2 Here and Wrath of My Madness are some other Queen songs to check out. Her crew was The Native Tongues which included The Jungle Brothers, Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul. Latifah has been in the game since the late 80s.
Yeah, Queen La started out as a rapper. Honestly, I was shocked when I found out she could act. When she started doing the show Living Single, I was so happy with her as Khadijah. AND she's a great jazz singer!
Bruh, Queen came into the game as a rapper, after being high school Bball star in Newark. I think her 1st rap hit was Ladies First. She had a small part in Soike Lee’s School Days movie, & her acting career started takin off. Then she started also singin. Queen is unique in the industry, as far as areas of success. Lauryn Hill probably the only with that level of rap & singin skills who can also act. But who starts out spittin like Lateefah & ends up staring in her own t.v. series, host her own show, gets hit in movies, nominated for Academy Award & wind up recording duet with vocal legend Tony Bennett? Nobody!! Queen got her own unique spot, that most likely NO rapper will ever get to.
Queen Latifah is a hip hop pioneer! Definitely in my top list of MC's and one of the reasons I fell in love with hip hop in the late 80s as a kid.
Holy Shit Have u Stumbled Upon The Queen (NJ) 💜💜. She started as a rapper and is iconic. - Latifah's Had it Up to Here - Just Another Day -Ladies First -Come to My House Just to intro u Latifah's Talent 🤗🤗🤗
FYI: Queen won a Grammy for this song.

This was a smooth jam with that sax. This song was huge back in the day and with a great message
Queen Latifah is a hip hop pioneer. Her flows were revolutionary and she was one of the females that changed the face of hip hop. Glad your listening. Hip hop in our days (us oldies ;) is the seed and roots of what we hear on the radio today. Keep educating yourself young. It will fill your soul. Also…spot the cameo (the dude calling her out on the street) another legendary hip hop artist.
React to her...Just Another Day
This is why she is the queen!
Ladies First is an anthem.
Queen Latifa was singing for over 10 years before she started acting in 1991. Great at both things very talented!! Love her ❤ 💕
She has Queen as her first name for all the right reasons. A Queen in every form of the word. Plus, she & her brother (RIP) used to ride bikes all the time.
Lol, Queen Latifah was one of the first mass popular/internationally recognized female rappers.
Respect! Yeah Queen is the real deal!💯
Check out her song Just Another Day a vibe
She rode with the red liners and she bought her brother a bike and he died in a crash hence the toast and keys at the beginning of the video. It was dedicated to her brother Winky
Bless your heart! Yes sir! She can rap she is a hip hop legend. Gen X knows her well!❤

Queen Latifah started out as a rapper/singer and transitioned to acting. If you want to hear some of her best singing listed to her sing "Georgia Rose" and "Lush Life".
I enjoy seeing our young people feel the real Hip Hop... Great Channel my man...
One of her first acting jobs was on a 1991 episode of Fresh Prince where she played Hilary’s boss.
Classic Classic ...
Latifah and Missy Elliott are among the greats!

You need to check ✅ out Dabrat....Her rapping was 📴 the ⛓️ chain
Queen is one of the GOATS at rapping bro. Check out Ladies First also.
You gotta do ladies first by Queen Latifah and Money Love
Her first single was Ladies First. That's a damn good one. If you listen to ROUGH she has some featured 90's rappers on there and she gets kinda gritty. I was like, Yes ma'am. You better come at her hard or step aside. Brandy's I WANNA BE DOWN remix with Yo-Yo and MC Lyte. Definitely a big hit. Both original version and the remix. NO WORK, is another banger.
She can sing to.
For another - very different - Queen Latifah song, check out her cover of Phoebe Snow's "Poetry Man" (the live version if you can) on KZread. She is SO talented.
also check his group Naughty By nature :)
90s Classic, Glad You Enjoyed It!!

Name callin is another one that's good too. All hail the Queen is amazing. You should check those out. What I love about Queen Latifah rapping is that she can start off sweet and lovely and then Boom she goes hard Then that's hard to pull off dude
