Lexus > Germans. Smart people know.
Your reviews are a treat to watch - this channel deserves more followers and likes!
This car looks amazing. Pure sportiness is not the purpose of the car, but impressive on that front nonetheless. I too just drove one yesterday and its just awesome. I m coming out of an Audi Q5 and had a BWM X5. I know this is Lexus is newer but have also driven all these competitors. Not the Merc - just declaring this much. The hidden benefit here is Lexus (Toyota product) is the most reliable vehicle make on the planet. I know this as we are a National RSA provider. This means the reliability durability aspects are off the charts. After-all ….. when you jump in a car day after day you want to know that you will be guaranteed to get there. Plus if unlucky and the only thing that could go possibly wrong, does go wrong (flat tyre - as mechanically bullet proof) then you have a spare… This is against competitors run flats. Happy driving 😊
I just purchased one for my wife 4 days ago here in Virginia. It's spec'd pretty much the same as the one you tested with the exception of hers has power reclining rear seats. But this review actually showed a few features we didn't know it had. So thank you

I've had every RX since 1999. This is by far the most superior model I've driven yet. I got it completely Loaded. I also have a twenty one l c five hundred convertible. I enjoy driving the r x five hundred just as much as the l c five hundred. Lexus makes a great car!!

In the USA a fully optioned RX 500h is right under $70k and that's still expensive, yet you guys have it in the six digits, and that's beyond crazy!
This is a must have beast💪

Awesome review 👍
A great video and very timely. I went to the showroom today in Perth and was very impressed. A little pricey though
Well done lexus I love it👊🏽
Would be my pick for a SUV in that price range.
Great review once again. Any chance you could add turning circle to the test also I feel this is as important as reverse speed 😊
Great review can you please do a review on the new ux luxury 200 .
Beautiful car. Can’t say I thrash my X3 ever, so this not being the last word in handling doesn’t phase me. Stylish, well built and the hybrid tech looks great. Great suburbs car.
In Canada, we’ve were initially given an estimated time of 5-8 months wait for the 350h.. We’ve put an order in early January but we got word that somebody cancelled their order and we’re next in line for the vehicle at the dealer. He said the vehicle will be coming mid May.

hey, In Edmonton I got 500h rx month ago, from south point they had 2 500's in stock I got 1. I own 2 previous rx 350's 2017, 2020, this 500h rx is so much more refined and fun to to drive than the previous gen. I was worried about about winter driving but the 4 system with the Bridgestone all season stock tires work better IMO than my previous v6 rx 350.
I quite like it's design 😊
My dream RX.
Im a 500h owner and its a great car so far. Yes the gas range is a big change from our previous Rav4 Hybrid and no regrets here. Took it on its first road trip and the cabin is very quite the seat are a dream and the 4 cylinder turbo with two electric motor front and rear has more than enough passing power. 😊😊😊

I drive a 2010 rx450h with 140k on it. Everything works like new and I still get 33mpg. I have friends with range rovers/X5 and their service costs are massive - I have spent approx a third of what they have. Plus lexus dealers are the best.
Loved the reverse speed test! 🤣. I have never attempted to do that in all my 38 years of driving!
I think this is the first video i ever heard Paul sounds so happy through out the whole video 😆
3:50 - that is good in fact. the beeps on lock and unlock on most modern day cars are quite loud
Yeah this Lexus looks really classy especially in that silver colour with the black accents. Fantastic looking car.

My favourite SUV is the RX 500h and my 2nd favourite it tge Toyota Rav4 2.5 hybrid. What a car!
Great review. Much more unbiased than Matt from The Right Car channel
Just got this car a couple of weeks ago for my wife. Just tried the sports mode a couple of days ago. I used to have a 2010 infiniti fx35 for a couple of years and the best explanation I have for this car is eco mode= toyota/lexus hybrid, spots mode = what a new generation fx35 (if they still made it) should feel like. 2 different cars in one, quite impressed.
I think I made a correct decision after watching this review. Can't wait for my 500h arrive.

After nearly one year of waiting, my RX350H AWD was delivered back in May this year, however accessories such as spare key, first aid kit are still on waiting!
I'm glad to see conventional auto transmissions starting to displace CVT.
Can i propose that you do a route to measure the fuel economy to get a better indication beside taking it from your 3 hot laps as you have stated because this distorts the perception of fuel economy.
Great car.Lawrence Here from Cape Town, South Africa. Tell me, do you guys get the Renauld Duster, I would like to get your view on that car.
That reverse speed test was a first. Nice one!
No wipers on the rear? Or just tucked under the spoiler?
Paul, why dont you reset the trip computer after the track test so the fuel figures are more realistic?
@CarExpertAus
Жыл бұрын
Good question. It’s just because it won’t be equal between the cars. Typically we will reset before we leave home so we have about 150km of highway driving, then some faster driving at the proving ground. But on some days we have to switch our filming order and it’ll affect the fuel economy.
Lexus is my dream car!

Finally, a Lexus that looks nice from the front , all they have to do now is concentrate at the back .
Is this the hybrid that the new Prado is going to get?
Hello! Can some one tell me why this model use nickel metal hydride technology for battery and some model use lithium ion battery. Whay Lexus use old technology for the battery? Thank you

Would be interested to know from owners what fuel consumption they are getting in normal daily driving.
I had a Toyota and I will say around city it would be 9.5/10L per 100 and it would take a good 1200-1500km of country driving till I saw the consumption figure drop down to 6.0/6.5. I think it’s a bit slow or apprehensive when driving style changes to quickly reflect the new consumption for a while. That was my experience over 37,000km.
With ‘narrow’ 235 tires?
I would definitely pick bmw X5 instead of RX considering the price rang reach above 100k , Lexus really need to reconsider their pricing strategy .
Its currenlty in my shortlist but waiting on the RX450h+ PHEV and RZ450e

They shouldn’t have axed the V6. It was an extremely refined and efficient engine.
I wonder how much of a difference there is between the the NX and RX?

I looked at the nx top spec is about $95k+ whereas a Norman rx450h is now close to $110k
Maybe when reviewing buttons it's good to show where you are touching
Have a 2021 RS 450h, v6 engine, goes like a dream. Live in Wales but taken it to France 4 times in last 9 months. The new model does not tempt me. 1. Only 4 cylinder engine- RS have s always had a 6 cylinder engine. 2. Here in the uk the speed limit warning comes on at every start, has to be disabled each time. We’ve got a nanny government. 3. No spare wheel for the first time, a backward step. 4. Have you seen the interior door handles - press to open. This is not for me . I’m disappointed as I usually change every 2 years.
We need a bigger gauge cluster
Mine was $73000 in the US. Don't know how it cost $85,000 unless it was taxes and fees in the UK or wherever. Mine is totally loaded. I think I have pretty much every option and package.

I'll get this over the German counterparts just because of that spare and the fact that it doesn't take any boot space at all.
Better than the German motors...

Whatever you do don’t get the white colour, that part on top of the grille looks like unpeeled white protective sticker for when the cars are being transported 😂
hold traction button for 4 seconds, it is completely turned off then and its a much quicker car then.
Nice to see Lexus modernising properly for once. A little disappointed that their top spec $130k model only gets 0 - 100 in 6.2s… That’s slower than a BMW X3 xDrive30e hybrid or Model Y performance which are both much cheaper.

@Eugen-E
Жыл бұрын
Because it doesn't have a proper launch control as germans do. And those launch controls are useless. From a roll race this is not slower than an X5 45e with the battery charged.
@tim9241
Жыл бұрын
@@Eugen-E you are likely overestimating the effect of launch control. The BMW is definitely not a slow machine at all. Meanwhile a Model Y performance will smoke both of them regardless.
@Eugen-E
Жыл бұрын
@@tim9241 No I'm not. I want you to take any bmw/Merc/Audi/Porsche and test 0-100 time with and without launch control. The difference is between 0.7 to over 1 second. Model Y is not a luxury car and it has an awful build quality. And at high speed acceleration (100-200 for example) is A LOT slower than ICE cars with the same power. And it becomes slower and slower because the battery is discharging (so inconsistent performance).
What about the Toyota Harrier or venza ??

The deceptive numbering scheme suggests it is bigger than the LS460
In the "driving" section, the amount of dust showing on the piano black screen surround is terrible. It would annoy the hell out of me as I would be alwasys wanting to wipe it with a cleaning cloth.
As a RX350L owner this looks great, much better than the new 4 cylinder RX350 and RX350h. Shame it’s missing the openable front door pockets and the yucky piano black in the dash! I actually prefer the old RX interior, it has that classic Japanese car feel whereas this new interior looks a bit bland IMO.
No CVT that's fantastic !!
So the 11 liters of fuel consumption are not realistic within the first 20k. From experience with our Rav 4 hybrid, had an average of 3.9 to 4.2 liters per 100 km in the first 20 to 25k. Now it is steady at 5.5 and we almost hit 40k. So, expect those numbers to be bumped on further. We are able to get around 940 km of range with one full tank. Just don’t see this Lexus model as a desirable vehicle if you are looking for fuel economy.
