@@CarExpertAus I waited for a long time for the cx60 to arrive but after watching so many overseas reviews including your sojourn to Portugal 👍I looked at what I would be getting for the extra $ and when i weighed it all up I bought the cx5 top of the range diesel, to get the same goodies in the cx60 i couldn’t justify the extra $. , 0 to 100 times are not that far apart , fuel consumption is close , if the tow capacities where 3tonne like other 6 cylinder diesel that might have got me over the line. I’m so happy with the cx5 especially after a 2500 Klm road trip over the snowy mountains , terrific car. I certainly applaud Mazda for putting out 6 cylinder vehicles, I will certainly do a couple of test drives at sone stage and you never know I might buy one in a couple of years. Love your channel I watch it often , terrific format Cheers 🍻

If you use your indicators and it won’t drag you back into your lane and the driver aids are not even close to as invasive as the RAV 4s. Your reviews are great Paul, very comprehensive. One area you miss though is cruise control accuracy over rolling terrain. My CX5 has a variation of +/-10 Kph over hilly areas, over-speeding on the crest of hills and dramatic slowing at the bottom of hills; it is so annoying. My previous car was a Renault that maintained an accuracy of +/-2 Kph over the same terrain.

@@GR8Tmate yes it has arrived. I have had it about a month. I bought the evolve level car. It Has all the bells and whistles I need plus more. It doesn’t have the lower profile tyres that are on all the models that reviewers drive. They all review the higher end models. The normal profile tyres give it a softer ride, hence I have no issues with it being too firm. In saying that, at the 1000km check it had a suspension upgrade as a Mazda recall. It was fitted with new shock absorbers. To tell you the truth I can’t notice the difference. The features like the 360 camera and power tailgate are great. Many people tell me how much they like the car. It really is a nice car to look at. The fuel consumption is amazing. So much better than my petrol 2.5 cx5 I had before this Cx 60. At first I was unsure of the gear box but now I’m used to it. The car drives better and changes gear better if you put your foot down a little harder. Plenty of grunt, you really don’t need to use sports mode. Overall I have to say I’m very happy with it.

@@michaele7880 Thankyou Michaele, I appreciate the time you took to respond to me. I know we all have different thoughts and expectations plus varying experiences but it helps to talk to other owners especially owners like yourself because you’ve had previous diesel models of Mazda. For me, I’m mostly concerned about the comfort due to my spinal injury and I note your point about the lower grades having the larger tyre profile. My current car has adaptive suspension and it’s absolutely wonderful but my current car is too small. This afternoon we went into the local Mazda dealer and we sat in CX 60 and the CX90 to get a feel for the size of the vehicles, we are keen to see the CX70 when it comes, I’m not in a rush and will buy some time next year . As we live in a rural area we think the Mild hybrid diesel is the way to go as the PHEV model won’t really be very advantageous to us as we leave our place and travel on a mixture of 100/80 &110km/h areas ion The way to the nearest city. I’m a little concerned about the gearbox shudder everyone talks about but I will organise a test drive soon. I’m glad you are happy with your new car and wish you many happy motoring miles 👍

Those are questioning on Mazda’s decision on inline 6 instead v6 - Actually Benz and BMW are also moving to inline 6 instead of V6, because with new manufacturing technology, smaller but powerful cylinder bores can be manufactured. Therefore Inline 6 are more stable, powerful and efficient than V6 engines.

Around town high 8's. With the 30 to the 40 cent price difference in diesel per litre an the $1,800 extra cost to purchase, i am glad i brought the petrol. I ran the tank down to it saying only 20 klms left but it only took 48 litres, so something not accurate with the guage. Would of had 10litres still in the tank.

I test-drove the diesel version of this car yesterday. The power, interior design, and exterior appearance are impressive. It felt great driving on flat roads. However, the road noise was quite loud when driving over coarse chip at speed. It's not a quiet highway cruiser; instead, it's loud and boomy. The suspension feels cheap and doesn't effectively absorb bumps or road imperfections. Additionally, there was a small rattle in the dashboard. Overall, I would not recommend this car yet, but I'd like to one day, after Mazda do the engineering properly, and address the asking price. Its unresolved.

The silver centre console was a bit tacky looking as well (not as shown in this model). I felt like it was meant to be imposing with its huge bonnet but it honestly felt it was no more roomy then the CX5 (which feels small compared to a Sportage). It feels and looks big but really isn't inside.

In the Philippines, this is priced within a top-spec Fortuner and Everest (ever so slightly more but mid-sized SUV prices in top spec are so out of hand there that the price gap is irrelevant for people buying those cars) and to me, the stiff ride is a moot point if you are comparing a CX-60 vs those mid-sized SUVs. A Fortuner and Everest will inherently have worse ride quality because they are based on a pick-up platform vs the monocoque chassis of the CX-60; this will ride better vs the bouncy nature of pick-up based SUVs. If you are cross-shopping a CX-60 vs those cars in a market like mine, I would still pick this vs those if I don't need to off-road or carry 7 people. Add to the fact that the diesel drives great based on the review, I don't see a reason why you would pass a CX-60 for an Everest/Fortuner if you don't need off-road capability or seats. Great vid though considering we just got the CX-60 here in PH!

@0farmerjohn0 Exactly lol, but my market has a tax incentive for cars made in Japan (thanks to a trade agreement) that are over 3.0 liters in displacement that brings the CX-60 closer in price to those two in top trim. If this incentive didn't exist, the CX-60 won't be in the same price bracket at all and be closer to a Lexus NX in price, like it should be. Just pointing out that with the price gap not being so big between this and top spec 7-seat midsized SUVs like an Everest, the CX-60 is a no brainer pick if you don't need to tow, haul a family, or go off-road in my market at least.

totally agree with Paul, I took the CX60 for test drive and found it to be a less than luxurious drive which is unfortunate let down because the cabin is luxurious but the suspension is jittery and unsettled and prone to rabbit hopping, the steering feels weird, its hard to describe and the regenerative braking and transmission seem mismatched at low speed when accelerating and braking - the CX60 in my opinion needs more work to iron out these major bugs and I reckon only the unsuspecting person with no understanding of motor w=vehicles would be temped to buy one of these cars

The ride feels a little firm, which is what I wanted anyway - if I could have had this driveline in a 6 wagon I’d have bought that instead. Overall it is way more compliant over bumps than many other cars I’ve had in recent years and the handling exceeds expectations. It’s a lot of fun to drive for what it is.

I am very impressed by the new CX60 and considering one for my wife. I have watched many reviews and the one thing I can't figure out is that the Diesel with all its fantastic torque has less towing capacity than the Petrol and Hibrid models. It doesn't make sense. Is there any logical reason from Mazda as to why this is the case?

Probably cooling related. But I recommend the petrol which I have because it's very good and would easily handle lighter trailers for the odd tip run. You also get 15,000km service interval vs 10,000km for the diesel. It's fairly quick too

I love Mazda, but feel they dropped the ball on the tow rating for the diesel. The whole reason you would buy the diesel is for towing. I think its main competition is not the Germans, but given the reliability traditionally of Mazda, the competition would come from Lexus.

Has their paint quality improved? Don't get me wrong, I loved my Mazda3. I owned it for 12yrs and then passed it onto my son. However, the roof of the car looked like shit for most of the time I owned it. Compare that to my 2007 Honda Accord Euro that I have owned since new, 15yrs old now, and the paint is fine. Not everyone can afford to change their car every 3-5yrs and there is no reason that the car companies cannot make the vehicle look better for longer. Cheers

It also rocks from the rear far too much on "smooth" roads. Mazda claims it's fine. I'm not convinced. Looks great, the right amount of toys, but...

I’ve owned a CX-60 diesel for about a year. The most serious problem of this model is the poor work of the suspensions, which are not able to guarantee sufficient comfort on even slightly irregular terrain. I had to mount 4 Koni shock absorbers at my expense and now the comfort and the road hold are improved. However, I find it shameful that Mazda has marketed its premium model with such a serious congenital problem and, at least in Switzerland, has offered no solution. I would not buy it again!

Can you please include a brake test for all your reviews please? Braking is as important as the 80-120kmh test if not more. It’s also more important than some of the safety features as it forms part of the active safety systems that we should know about. It will also be an eye opener to many people as usually all the heavier vehicles, utes, suv, etc will mostly perform far behind lighter vehicles and this should be a big part of the consideration when purchasing a new car.
