Not gonna lie, the All Quiet speeches might be a big thing. In the same way that when we got the CODA cast on stage, the world fell in love with them, the All Quiet crew are really making it their mission to use their winning speeches to reinforce their community and endless group of nationalities involved in the film. In framing the wins as a political platform, maybe some voters will really go bezerk.

  • @Manuelcolon24

But CODA had plenty of opportunities for that, All Quiet won yesterday and that's their last chance to give speeches until The Oscars, it's not even nominated at any guilds besides Sound and Art Directors (which it already lost). And even CODA, who broke some stats last year, had a lot going for it, All Quiet would break like every single stat in the book without nominations anywhere, it couldn't even win the Globe or Critics Choice for International Film, come on. I do think it's #2, but it's not that easy to think it will win.

If All Quiet wins, I won’t be surprised at that point and it will definitely show that the BAFTAS need to be taken much more seriously. I’ll still predict Babylon to win but I won’t be confident in that pick because of the BAFTAS today. And if Babylon doesn’t win Score at the Oscars, not only will it be one of the worst win snubs (technical wise) in recent Oscars memory in my personal opinion, but there will probably be some very angry people ready to burn the whole place down. I think All Quiet upsetting Women Talking in Adapted is far more likely than a lot of people think. One giant statistic that I didn't know about until the other day was that no film that missed the BAFTA Adapted Screenplay category has won the Oscar for Adapted since 1999. That's a pretty big hurdle for Women Talking to get over, and since All Quiet is a much stronger contender it might just win over it in a massive upset.

All Quiet on the Western Front is a real possibility. It's been a while since the Academy gave the award to a war movie and with what's happening in Ukraine, people have its themes very present. I believe a lot of the european members will rank it high. International Feature, Adapted Screenplay, Cinematography and Sound looks like a solid haul. I feel like best picture is still anyone’s game. Banshees and Fablemans won GG for best picture in comedy and drama. EEAAO won CC for best picture. Now AQOTWF won BAFTA for best picture/film. So who’ll win best picture at the Oscar’s is still anyone’s game. Best Actor at this moment now goes to Austin because his performance is much stronger than Farrell and Fraser. Most people have written Austin off but he’s still on the race and if Fraser wins SAG then it becomes Butler vs. Fraser but if Elvis wins best makeup then it clears the path for Austin to win but THE WHALE needs to win best makeup in order for Fraser to win best actor.
