I literally had a car wreck and went to Enterprise and rented this car. I didnt care what car I got. They gave me this exact car and OH MANNNNNN this car is amazing and I would have never known. Fast as hell

You have shown the exact car that I would buy myself! (including the premium package but in blue or white and excluding the options like mats or stuff like that. Love it! I love how you do many angles, even a POV angle. Great job on this review!

I’m shocked at how impressive this vehicle looks. Very aggressive yet premium looking. Edit: you skipped the leg room in the back seat. I wanted to see how much room the passengers had behind the driver’s seat.

I'm sure it will be! The Kia K5 has only been out now for a few years, so I would think it has a few years to go unless they decided to change the look or make a new model!

I have the Kia k5 and so far it's been a very good car very good on gas!! And I love the panoramic sunroof!

That's a must on any car really!

We have a 22 ex premium on pre order. When I first seen a K5 I had to turn around and go back into parking lot to see what it was. Took 2 on a test spin.. gt line awd and ex fwd. Local dealer had the exact car we wanted but they had some other deals added on so we pre ordered and saved the dealer installed items. Sharp car and lot of technology.. its the granite grey exteror with blue ash interior .

Finally got our New K5. Ex 3/5/22.. couple things different from one we almost purchased back in January.. this one has black interior instead of blue ash. Actually like the black better.. . Did not know there was nothing in our car to program our garage door opener.. 279 for homelink rear view mirror which was not an option available. Absolutely love the car. Still getting used to it. Did a 100 mile road trip and car was amazing ..friends and family we show it to love the looks and sleek lines and interior. We love our Kia!!!!

My other half 1/2 said "THANK YOU!!!". She's been wanting this car and this was the cherry 🍒 on top.

I actually prefer the look of the EX ( and LX/LXS lower fascia) compared to GT/GT Line. The only issue I have with the K5 trims are the wheels. GT trim, IMO, have the best wheels. Thanks for the review!

I own the gt line. My only issue with the car is the imitation dual exhaust on the back. Why not put an actual dual exhaust on it or NOT put the fake dual exhaust. It's such a bummer to see it and then realize it's not what it looks like. I think cars with dual exhaust look cool on a cool day or night and u see the exhaust coming from 2 pipes. This car looks weird because you'd expect to see it coming from 2 pipes but it's only coming from 1. Seems like it's the same on this 22 ex model too. Smh sad. I'll only get the gt model if I ever upgrade

I really want a K5, I love them. I have a white 2015 Kia optima Ex, and it's kinda dated, but still very nice. However, I got it used in 2019 at 34,000 mi, and i still have payments on it.

i got a question, is the full bar led tail light standard with every k5?, cause ive even seen some GT lines and the tail lights arent fully lit

@@wizels1403 It should be standard and there’s no way to turn it off, it’s the tail lights and running lights that should work as needed.

I've been a proud owner of the Kia K5 GT-Line AWD sedan for almost a year. But let me tell y'all. Save yourself the money and don't bother with opting for the premium package that comes with the autostart. 1.) When you use the autostart, there is no visual indication that the car actually started (beyond a quick flash of the DRL - if you happen to catch it and even then there's no guarantee that it actually started because it's very finicky.) 2.) The car will only run for exactly 10 minutes and at a maximum temp of just 72F. There is no way to change this. Obviously those of us who live in Northern, wintry climates know that this is a joke if you're expecting to defrost your car and have it warm and toasty for you when you go out. The only way around this is the old way. Put on your sweats and coat and go out and start the car manually! I don't know what Kia was thinking with this but the autostart feature as it stands right now is a total fail. Instead, go for a third party autostart option that will probably be a LOT cheaper than the package that provides this feature from Kia. I wish I had done my homework ahead of time.

Interesting. I've never really thought the auto start is a useful thing to have. Especially if it only works for 10 mins. 20 would be much better

This isn't gray leather, it's the Ash Blue SynTex leatherette which looks unique! I love this color combination between the silver & this Ash Blue SynTex leatherette. I would get the K5 EX in this color combination (since I can't get the exterior in Sapphire Blue with this interior according to the configurator). I would get it with the EX Premium package that this car has. I really wish the Sapphire Blue was available with something other than an all-black interior for this trim. I don't want to be surrounded by a sea of ack leatherette & black plastic pieces. And I'm sure other people feel the same way about that such a bright exterior color with a dull monotone interior color

hi. i am debating on the gt line and this bc the ex doesn't have wolf gray nor red interior nor stiching on it's seat....

Why are these so hard to find?! I’m near Des Moines Iowa and am having a hard time finding Kia dealers with the k5’s want one so bad!

Even though this one is not as bougie as the 325i or C 300 looking at it from the outside makes you think it's cars much more expensive. And that sounds of nature, I don't know, that would cause me fatigue in minutes!

I would assume 45%. Most dealer go with that for new cars on the lot. Lowest it'd be is 35%

All offer something good. Really comes down to which one fits your budget best, what you like driving ht most, and what you think works for you. This segment of car is pretty competitive and they all kinda feel like the same car lol

@@Alexandercru That's a good budget. Check out the KIA Stinger GT if you want much more fun and power! But honestly with $50k, I'd buy a nice used Audi S4 or BMW M340i. Way better cars ;)

How much you paying out the door

I hate how dealers in some states stick their ugly advertising on the actual body of the car. Glad they don't do that in California. I can deal with it on a license plate frame but don't going gluing some decal or plaque on my trunk lid. That said, I really like the K5. I was looking at an AWD GT-Line last June but the dealer out here was your old school gaming playing dealership trying to gouge me for thousands over MSRP. Ended up getting a Subaru Legacy mainly because that dealer was decent.

It's just an adhesive sticker, so it does come off..I don't like that either, but it's apart of advertising for the dealer and part of business. The K5 is a sweet sedan, and the market now is crazy! Dealers are asking a lot for new and used cars simply because inventory is low! It's a great time to sell, not the best time to buy though.

They all just use a sticker. Can easily be pealed off if you don't like it. Better then some who drill into the front bumper and mount a front tag when we don't even need front tags here. Sucks they were trying to get you over sticker. Definitely not worth it

I havent seen a blue interior on the K5 yet. I'm sure that would look cool. This cars grey interior was very nice

But my real question is… can you fit 3 across in the back? I have one rear facing and two in boosters.

That I'm not sure to be honest! You'd have to check it out in person and see how those fit! I don't have experience with that yet lol!

I live in the UK I have a late 2016 Kia optima , AND I LOVE THE CAR , the fact that they are not selling the K5 in the UK is so annoying, as I would have loved to get the updated version of my car . The UK market is rubbish at the moment THE GOVERNMENT are TAXING us off the roads and are pushing electric cars BUT WITHOUT ANY INVESTMENT IN INFRASTRUCTURE, so most BRITS will never be able to own one as they will be unable to charge them , as the majority of houses in the UK do NOT have a garage or a drive. And on top of all that, the manufacturers seem to think that everyone wants to drive a crossover or SUV .

I Would buy one but the gauge cluster looks old and tired, My 2016 honda civic ex has way better digital goodness and it's 6 years old, How does kia not come up with a digital clusrer

I think the GT K5 gets a digital one but I'm not sure. But a Civic is a smaller car tho and not a competitor. Hyundai has the digital displays so thats probably why KIA doesnt have it

The accord is much more reliable than the Kia. The new Korean cars are just not reliable. Which is why they make them look so good so they are more enticing for customers

@@BrosFOURRSpeed My favorite Kia model is the Stinger, the top model can run head to head with a Coyote Mustang if not beat it on the quarter mile (stock for stock). You should grab a Stinger with the 3.3L V6 turbo for your future video review! 😎

@@BrosFOURRSpeed The Optima (the K5’s predecessor) didn’t sell well in that market so Kia decided not to sell the K5 for Europe.

Yeah I think they are letting Hyundai have the digital dash. Keeps cost down too for the KIA brand

Make sure there are not any recalls on the engine. Wish someone warned me. My kia Optima EX has been at the service department for 4 weeks now. And Kia will only pay 33.31 per day towards a rental. So, I have to pay the rental cost first the submit the receipt to the manufacturer for review. Oh and once the service department determines it is the engine a person from kia safety recall has to come out to make sure its the engine Then they will fix my car. NEVER IN LIFE WILL I BUY A KIA.

Oh dang that sucks. I've seen a few things from owners with the engines. But most people have worry free experiences.

How come a sedan of this size is so much lighter compared to a mid size SUV?

@@TheMichaelJu Kia Sorento is roughly 700-1000 pounds more than the K5 with a quick search, that’s a good bit of weight added vs this sedan.

Putting a turbo on an engine that small is just asking for problems soon as the warranty ends.

I'll keep my 2016 Kia Optima EX, thank you. The K5 has gone the way of a Honda Civic. Too much cheapo plastic. Also, I don't like the tablet dash look.

@@rakhsiprayogo82 They’re nowhere near comparable. The F-Type is way way way way way faster than the K5, and they’re in different segments. The K5 is a D-segment saloon while the F-Type is a S-segment coupe or convertible.

The only thing about the exterior is that hideous taillight design

@@BrosFOURRSpeed there’s no SX trim for the K5. The digital gauges aren’t offered on any trim in the North American market. It is actually an option in Korea and other markets though.

@@BrosFOURRSpeed I sure hope so. I’m planning on buying a new car next year and I’m stuck between the K5 and Sonata. I like the styling of the K5 a little more, but the sonata has some features the K5 doesn’t.
