I got the 22 Premium Package with the Red Interior and Wolf Gray exterior. Couldn't find the White

@@DrWiggo that's great you got for under msrp! Car prices have been crazy, every kia k5 around me in NYC get sold very quickly and people are willing to pay over MSRP. I hope by next summer I can get the car for 30K

How do you make CarPlay full screen all the way across vs split screen?

With your iPhone NOT connected, on the K5 home screen select Setup --> Device Connections --> Apple Carplay --> then uncheck use split screen at Apple Carplay Screen. Once you do this, when you plug in your phone Carplay takes over the entire screen, and you can no longer use the K5's radio or navigation (unless you unplug your phone). That's why I leave mine in split screen mode (I like K5 SiriusXM plus Carplay navigation).

How the cabin sound suppression? Is there a lot of wind/outside noise?

It's one of the quietest cars I've owned (and I've had Mercedes, Cadillacs and Lincolns). One of the fancy car channels used a dB meter and got 67dB at 70 MPH (which is very, very good; most of my older luxury cars scored in the 72-78 range).

You have probably discovered this by now but just in case, the home link buttons are on the bottom of the frameless mirror. You have homelink. FYI - I pick my 2022 gravity gray with black interior ex premium any day now.

In the US, the Homelink mirror is a $350 option that most dealers never order for spec cars, so unless you custom order, no Homelink. (This and the 4 inch display are my only real knocks on this car.)

The grey on these cars looks absolutely immaculate.

Car is cool super nice but what throws me off is the gage cluster screen all that technology and it had that 4 inch display no way

Yes, especially since in other markets the whole gage cluster is a screen.

Not that odd. Obviously a cost-cutting move so they wouldn't have to raise the price as much from the 21 to the 22. Had to pay for that fancy new logo somehow. 😀 Considering how often I use my spare tire, I'm OK with it. But if I were you, I'd be rotating all 5 tires and squeezing out another 10 to 20,000 miles.

Sadly, that deal expired 11/2/21. Now it’s 1.9% financing expiring 1/3/22 (still pretty good).

The k5 is almost perfect, the only downside is it doesn’t have wireless car play, defeat the whole purpose of having wireless charging

Agreed. I will never understand how upgrading to the premium screen DOWNgrades from wireless CarPlay. (That, and the HomeLink autodimming rearview mirror being an option that no dealer orders for the car.)

Think I didn't like in 22 cars that is the gears only 6 speed while my 21 is 8 speed 🤔

All 2022 K5s come with an 8 speed automatic. (In the US, anyway.)

They design the thing for 19” wheels, then give me 18” (but the bottom trim gets 16”)

I would wrap that entire car from head to toe with a heavy duty clear wrap. I won't be able to tolerate any ding or scratch at all.

Used to do that with my expensive cars, but this one seems fine without it.

Just looks cheap to me. It’s exterior styling will be outdated in a few years.
