2022 Infiniti QX60 - Packages, Spec Sheet, First Look

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

It's finally here...the redesigned 2022 Infiniti QX60. This is the top of the line Autobiography model. However, there is also the package spec sheet, showing the Pure, Luxe, Sensory and Autobiography packages, what's included, and the prices, in Canadian CAD.
This video gives you a great look at the packages, some highlights, and a walkaround of the vehicle. It breaks down the Mechanical & Performance, Exterior, Interior, Comfort & Convenience, Audio & Infotainment, and Safety & Security
And a first, you are all introduced to little Ms. Nexus lol. She loves cars and checking them out with me, and she came along for the ride!

    As an Infiniti QX60 owner, I’m somewhat disappointed in the 2022 version. I had the opportunity to sit in one, check out the features, and kick the tires last month in Arlington, VA. It’s an “okay” car, but at that price point, I was expecting to be “wowed” but wasn’t. However, I REALLY LOVE THE NEW GENESIS GV80 which is at a similar price point with more options and curb appeal. Nice video, and nice well behaved daughter. 👍

    Thanks! Little Ms Nexus is such an awesome daughter, no complaints here LOL. I completely agree with the GV80...that is such a well packages SUV. Drives smooth, lots of great options, feels sturdy and well built. It stands out. I personally do like the new QX. I like the layout and feel of the SUV. Drives nice too...very quiet cabin. Absorbs road noise much better than my old JX. I also took a new Pathfinder on a small trail recently (video coming soon) and it handled it very well. So it is a big step up over the current generation QX. I am not a fan of the price increase and packaging though. A lot of the advertised features, like something simple like the towing option, are reduced entirely or cut on the lower price point. Whereas the GV80 is much more simplistic, well rounded packages. Hopefully that changes with the QX after the initial sales run. Otherwise, the competition will give them a run for their money. Nissan and Infinitis reputation is already in a bad spot.

    @@NexusAuto : Very thoughtful and thorough response, thank you. I didn’t get a chance to drive the 2022 QX60, as they would not permit a test drive, but I will keep an eye out for an opportunity. I tend to be “brand loyal” and was loyal to Ford for 13 years. We will see. Thanks again! 👍

    GV80 has a useless 3rd row. More like a size of Lexus RX. That’s why people are looking for a much usable 3 row.

    Hmm, that is a great question. As of now, I do not see an option, but then again, they did not release a options sheet for accessories at this point. It would be a nice thing to have. I hear you though, I ended up buying a Infiniti hitch cover for my 2013 model, as I do not like the exposed hitch and I don't really tow...I am in the same boat as you. Time will tell.

    Thanks for the review. Have you seen the new Pathfinder with Chestnut interior in person? If so, how does that color compare to Infiniti”s interior color? Also, do you think Infiniti looks/feels significantly better than the Pathfinder to justify the price difference or would you just go with Pathfinder?

  • @NexusAuto

    @NexusAuto

    This is an excellent question. Unfortunately, I did not go hands on with the Pathfinder, but now I am thinking this would be a good comparison to make. I am not sure if I can get my hands on one with the chestnut interior, but I may look into it. But at this point, I do not have any hands on, so could not accurately answer on a comparison between the 2.

    Seriously the price tag is ridiculous considering that they don’t offer much besides their two top trims which will probably push close to 70k. Not the best way to try and make a comeback. The only good thing is they got rid of CVT.

    I do agree with this price. That is a big price jump over the last model (a 2020 pure model is $48000 in Canada). I am curious to see if we will see this selling in big numbers or not. And thank god that CVT is gone.

    @@Merknilash I agree here. The current QX60 is one of Infinitis best sellers, and it 8 years old. I think the refresh will draw a lot of people in. The first year sales will be high. I do wonder if it can keep that trend though. Time will tell on that one.

    Nice video, well done. 👍 it's definitely a step in the right direction for infiniti....I kinda wanna drive 1 as I had a 19.5 qx60 pure for 17 months and put 39k on it and rang that CVT every chance I got and it loved it, the simulated shifting was so sporty 2 bad by the time they got it right the reputation was long gone. I'm totally curious how she 🏃‍♀️ runs with premium fuel in sport mode! 🤔

    Thanks, much appreciated. I agree too, from a design perspective, it is a move in the right direction. I am hoping I can get a drive with it in the near future. I am curious on how it will drive too. You really drove your QX60 quite a bit. I have a 2013, which was before they revised the engine and CVT and still love mine too. Glad to hear yours is treating you well thus far.

    That is a very good question...I am not sure at this point. I saw a button at 14:47 that shows a arrow in a circular motion (like the remote start button), with the word auto in it, and off. I think this button may be the button to turn off the start stop function, but have not confirmed this yet. But it would make sense to me that this would be the button to turn this function off. I hope that it can easily be turned off. Glad to hear you are with me on this one...not one of my favorite features.

    In my opinion it is a good looking inside and outside car however it's not much changed and improved over the outgoing model. The concept car looked much more sportier. Don't like those aluminum fake exhaust ends, also steering wheel could be done better. Base price and the range seems to be much higher. I'm not sure that sales will be higher than outgoing model when it was introduced. Infiniti is putting so much at the stake with it. I don’t think that they did good enough job making a difference over the competition. Time will tell

    The skeleton seems to be the same overall. Same chassis, suspension, brakes, engine, etc. A lot of features are the same, just repackaged. Still, it really needed this redesign. Can you believe the current model ran for 8 years with only 2 small refreshes? Crazy! I agree with the concept being sportier, and even more rugged looking. This one has been softened up. I am also surprised with the price hike. I am curious if this will still translate to big sale numbers. Like you said, there is a lot riding on this one, especially with it being their bread-and-butter model. Time will tell for sure.

    @@NexusAuto I agree. I have been driving my JX35 more than 9 years now and I still love it. I can see many similarities with the new one, the same engine paired with a new transmission. I still like the look of JX sides more then the new one. Also when you take Palisade Caligraphy and Telluride Nightsky, both top models, are the same price as new QX60 base price, and QX base offers less than them I wonder what Infiniti was thinking with the price increase.

  • @NexusAuto

    @NexusAuto

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@zerinathe same here. I love my JX35 and although I am kinda liking aspects of the new model, I have no desire to give up my 2013. I think you are talking about the curves on the current generation...I love it too. It flows much better. The sides on this remind me of a Cadillac XT6. Even the front had a bit of that vibe. For better or worse, I think the JX was only crossover/SUV that has curves and flow like that. I have a feeling that Infiniti is trying to move up and compete more with the MDX is price structure, vs Kia and Hyundai. Sad part is that those are great SUVs, are loaded, and drive nice, but because of their brand, they do not hold the same 'luxury reputation' as Infiniti or Acura, but they could be accurately compared. Great bang for your buck. Considering the recent reputation of Infiniti, they would have been better off to keep the current price structure and try to bring people back in on value and quality vs trying to move a bit upmarket.
