The car companies don't understand we little people don't have 100k to spend on a car thats only good for 3 or 4 years, I bought 3 new cars and now I am back to and happy with used cars, I think the new cars are designed to fail in a few years so you will just keep leasing a new one and never have to deal with all the broken parts. My friend has been leasing cars for 15 years and then when he went back last year to trade in for a new one he figured out he can't afford a new car so he had to borrow his dads car or my car or rent a car till he found one '' used '' that he could pay for, 15 years of handing money to GM and owned nothing in the end.

Today’s products are designed to fail unlike not very long ago companies competed to earn and keep your business. Now the government makes it where they do not have to.

They need to build cars in the United States again. Not more tech-junk-cars. If you need tech, we already have phones. If the Cybertruck can be delivered without door handles, then Jeep can make a Willy's CJ, seriously. Anything with a simple engine. Progress isn't really all that. Yes, antilock brakes, EGR on a gasoline engines. Make them safe as a Subaru, but stubborn with American-made SAE fractional hardware and specs. Saginaw, Michigan, give me a steering box for a Chevy or GMC. Don't give up on USA manufacturing. And don't use every year to make changes to a design. Drop most of the emissions requirements, replace that with mechanics who do simple tune-ups. Don't fill up the entire scrap yard with stuff that is too specialized and technical to do anything with.

The RC F don't sell well because they have a NA V8 with 'only' 472 hp and people prefer the more powerful turbo charged or supercharged cars with a lot more hp for that money, or they prefer to just spend the extra 30k and get an LC 500 (which is what I chose to do....but used) since it looks nicer and has the same NA V8.

The problem is that if US loss the car industry too to China, a lot of jobs would be gone and US will go down as a technology country. 30 years later, we may not even know how to make a car. You can see the same on television industry and cell phone industry. We invented both but now zero TV set and zero cell phone is manufactured in US. In the 50’s and 60’s, RCA used to sell a lot of TV sets worldwide. In the 1980’s, Motorola almost had the monopoly on the brick cell phone. Now most of the TV are made in China but none in the US. Most of the cell phones are also made in China including Apple. China get the manufacturing first and then learn all the technologies and design their own and then making copycat to oust the western and Japanese companies who taught them how to build car. I think China is planning to oust GM and Ford and even Tesla. Chinese electric cars are very good quality and performance now. Look at BYD, Zeekr, and Volvo XC40. Volvo is actually owned and designed by Chinese company Geely and Sweden almost has little involvement except the exterior design of the car.
