In response to some of those who are saying this video is bias or seems like a Jag commercial. The video was produced by Jaguar. In the beginning of the comparison video, Iain Belfore specifically states that he's a Jaguar Trainer. His sole purpose is to point out "how much better" the XF is than the E350.

You’re trying to compare a fancy TATA with a FORD engine to a car made by the oldest car maker. That XF shown here is probably on a scrap heap now. My 2013 E350 Convertible still feels like a brand new car.

Quite incorrect. Jaguar's supercharged V6 featured here is AJ126, which is based on Gen III AJ133 5.0L V8 engine block. Both AJ126 and AJ133 are Jaguar native-designed engines. No Ford car ever utilized AJ133 or AJ126. Ford did use Gen II Jaguar V8 4.0 engines in Lincoln LS and Ford Thunderbird back in Year 2000, but those engines were Jaguar in-house designs that Ford "borrowed" from Jaguar. As for Tata, no Tata cars ever use these Jaguar engines.

THE 5-series and E-class are simply on another level. Forget Jag even Audi (with the best exterior) is barely comparable. My uncle had this jag and at a mere 30k miles those "fancy" air vent motors failed. Rattle from the meridian speakers, failed shocks, and trunk sensor (trunk kept popping by itself) were all present at ONLY 50k miles.

As an original owner of 2012 XF 5.0 V8, I can tell you with certainty that the rotating vents lasted over 11 years, and it's still working fine. Furthermore, the touchscreen allows the option of keeping the vents open as a default mode, if you want. ^^

This is actually a very very spot on review by the pro driver. I have the E350 sport model and getting comfortable in is a challenge. I've driven lots of cars, he was spot on about the lower seat not being low enough and the steering wheel. What I can say is this feels way more safe than the BMW Z3 I owned. It does have a heavy feel but I prefer that and it's pretty stable in the wet. We just got out of Winter so can't wait for winter tires.

Don’t listen to a word from this guy. I have extensive experience with both cars and I’m here to testify. I had a 2014 Jaguar XF S luxury 3.0 diesel sedan. Worst car I’ve ever had. The Dunlop tyres that came with the car were under specced that the car lost traction easily on wet surface. I had to change all four tyres at my own cost at the first service. But the most annoying part is the DPF. It’s the filter diesel cars equip to trap dirty diesel fume. And because I do suburban driving mainly, the filter gets full very quickly. And when it’s full, the car restrict the engine output that the car can only travel around 40 km/ hour max and would take a minute to even reach that. That happened to me way too many times during peak hours. Your fellow road users must think you an idiot. Of course the car can only be towed back to the dealership to get fixed and that usually took a week or so. Given the car was purchased new and was still under warranty, the filter got replaced after 3 of those horrible events within a period of 6 months. The dealership advised me to take the car for a long drive on freeway every week to burn off the rubbish trapped in the filter which is ridiculous. Other people walk their dogs and I had to find time to “walk” my jaguar. Needless to say, I put the car on the market within 2 years of owning it and lost more than half of my money. Guess what, I had to replace both rear tyres to get the car roadworthy. What kind of car requires tyre changes every 15000km. I’m not a traffic light racer type and am driving my car almost conservatively. Still I’m happy to cut the loss by getting rid of this nightmare. I bought my wife a Mercedes S350 which is a diesel V6. We’ve had it for a year and still doing the suburban driving, never had that DPF problem. As for me, I’m driving my wife’s 2012 Mercedes E350 Estate. It’s older than the Jaguar XF but is so much a better car. It gets serviced every 12 months at the dealership and is solid like a rock.

Jag has supercharger. Not fair at all. He says that this steering takes too much effort for the MB but he seems very relaxed. Lies! If you look, the jag is slimmer and also has the same body roll as the Merc. Supercharged cars we all know have a lot of torque. The merc is NATURALLY ASPERATED, No wonder everyone doesn't like this review in the comments and dislikes. He said the tires squeal on the merc. However 14:45.

I'm too tired to search through the board to see if anyone mentioned and KNOWS this a Ford that has a Jag emblem on it. You should have tested it through the cones multiple times - at some point within minutes it's going to break down (it is a Ford). Even the countrymen from where Jaguar was born agree they are terrible cars. Since you point out performance is key in the cars you produce, let's see where the Kitty comes out VS Audi or BMW. Matter of fact, get a driver anyone has heard of. If you want REAL world recognition, let Top Gear UK run your car. They abuse the Jag brand on a regular basis for a reason. Until I saw this spectacular video, I didn't even know Jag still existed. Can't wait to buy one. I bet re-sale is fantastic. I'm pretty certain marketing set you in the direction they wanted, but few buy an E-class for performance. It is a luxury car, not a performance car. Crazy part is, the E-class you just shown is a luxury car that does what yours does - much more comfortably. Based on your records for 1 second less? Who gets docked for showing up to work 1 second later? - The one that drives a Ford. Pretty easy decision on what to buy. Thank you for this video. Luxury car buyers want a comfortable ride that is reliable. If they wanted a fun machine, BMW and Audi would clearly win (and thus not reviewed). Lastly, negative marketing only works on negative people. Have fun with your market share. Performance has put Jag at the top of line for sure.... What is it you drive?

Out of this current generation (and I am aware an all new not just refreshed e class will follow in a year or 2) the 5 series has all the bases covered better than most interior quality second only to a6, looks on a par with xf, handling the best and performance in most cooking versions 520d vs 220cdi or a6 2.0l tdi and the xf 2.2 diesel the 5 comes out on top as goes for the V6 diesels 535d vs the equivalents. The xf is a stunning looking car but the interior quality this guy goes nuts over masked by the leather topped dash is generally poor the plasticky buttons the cheap feeling steering wheel the non supportive standard seats. This is an extremely biased review. Sure it was a good car when launched against the e60 5 and previous a6 but things have moved on.

Jaguar XF (X250) was a reliable model, especially with AJ133 or AJ126 engines. It is Mercedes that struggles with OBD II code bombs and electronic problems that everyone talks about. Ever since the German unification, Mercedes has become more East Germany than remaining West Germany in overall product quality. Everyone knows it, let alone Lexus / Toyota owners. ^^

Many wrong details about the Benz. First of all the E350 in the video is not the 302 HP as stated. The Benz in the video is the pre-2012 which is the 268HP with 258lb ft. The 2012+ E350 will definitely outperform the Jaguar especially in terms of engine performance. Many tunings and upgrades were applied to the 2012+ Also, BLUE EFFICIENCY does not mean it’s a Diesel engine, you are confusing it with BLUETEC.
