I own a Jag now but I owned a 650i previously. The BMW was the superior car
No idea why ppl bash this video. It's an internal Jag video for Jag sales people on how to persuade buyers to buy the Jag. This is very balanced as such. Too many think this is a review video. Come on. It's stated clearly in the beginning what it is. Everyone in the video works for Jaguar; yes, they are paid directly and honestly by Jag.

A very biased review. I've had both cars and preferred the 650i. Also many facts about the 650 and 640 were wrong. Bothe the 650 and 640 come with 19 and 20in wheels. Never seen one with 18" wheels. The info screen on the BMW is bigger than the Jag 7" vs 10.5". The exterior of the jag is beautiful but the interior of the BMW is far superior in luxury and comfort. BMW is much roomier than the Jag and the Bang and Olufson is a pure pleasure to listen to. The Jag may be a bit faster but the speed of the BMW is nothing to sneeze at. 445 engine 0-60 in 4.5 seconds is damn good. If you're a larger man over 6 ft you would also want the BMW on a long trip. The jag is a bit cramped and this crap about the valet lock....how often do you set this feature? Personally I never hand a 100,000 car to some kid to valet park it. The safety door handles can also be programmed to one not two pulls. Anyway, they're both great cars but the review was clearly unfair. A noteworthy mention, I got a hell of a lot more stares and compliments from women mainly about the BMW over the Jag.

I am an Englishman and the jaguar do not impress me. That is why I own an A8. As for 4 wheel drive over rear wheel drive? Audi all day every day. I bought my first A8 in 2005 and I just bought the D4 with all the buttons to press and play with. No touch screen crap for me. Looks like I will be keeping it for a long, long time! 😊

Just bought a late 2012 3.0ltr supercharged XJ portfolio with 16000 miles on it. What a car, I couldn't be happier.
How long do those motorized climate vents last before they quit working? Asking for a friend....
As an original owner of 2012 XF 5.0 V8, I can tell you with certainty that the rotating vents lasted over 11 years, and it's still working fine. Furthermore, the touchscreen allows the option of keeping the vents open as a default mode, if you want. ^^
But the question remains... wich one can actually make it home from the dealership... without having to get towed back to the dealership??? My moneys on the merc... for as sexy as thy are, jaguars are HORENDOUS peices of sh!t you guys should do something about that!!!
Jaguar XF (X250) was a reliable model, especially with AJ133 or AJ126 engines. It is Mercedes that struggles with OBD II code bombs and electronic problems that everyone talks about. Ever since the German unification, Mercedes has become more East Germany than remaining West Germany in overall product quality. Everyone knows it, let alone Lexus / Toyota owners. ^^

The whole point is, BMW will get you where you are going in style. Jaguar will leave you looking great on the side of the road after it leaves you stranded. Make friends with the wrecker guy because if you buy a Jaguar you'll be seeing him often.

The F type invokes a history of passion of love cars as it recalls parts of its E type heritage but also carves out its own new legacy with its own modern styling and sound.

Many wrong details about the Benz. First of all the E350 in the video is not the 302 HP as stated. The Benz in the video is the pre-2012 which is the 268HP with 258lb ft. The 2012+ E350 will definitely outperform the Jaguar especially in terms of engine performance. Many tunings and upgrades were applied to the 2012+ Also, BLUE EFFICIENCY does not mean it’s a Diesel engine, you are confusing it with BLUETEC.
You’re trying to compare a fancy TATA with a FORD engine to a car made by the oldest car maker. That XF shown here is probably on a scrap heap now. My 2013 E350 Convertible still feels like a brand new car.
Quite incorrect. Jaguar's supercharged V6 featured here is AJ126, which is based on Gen III AJ133 5.0L V8 engine block. Both AJ126 and AJ133 are Jaguar native-designed engines. No Ford car ever utilized AJ133 or AJ126. Ford did use Gen II Jaguar V8 4.0 engines in Lincoln LS and Ford Thunderbird back in Year 2000, but those engines were Jaguar in-house designs that Ford "borrowed" from Jaguar. As for Tata, no Tata cars ever use these Jaguar engines.

Built better? I've never seen a reliable "modern" Mercedes since West German-built ones. OBD II code bombs are standard features of any Mercedes today. Jaguar XF (X250) have been super reliable for my 11 year original ownership, and still going strong.
