I recall watching this game as a kid and heart broken that the Terps lost. Too add to the miseries , looked up Mark Manges and saw he passed in Sept. 2023. RIP You were tough as nails back in 76.

sure miss lindsey nelson, brings back good childhood memories, altho i never saw this game. also was nice the players not all wearing the sticky gloves, enabling all the 'so-called great catches' nowadays

Yeah, I wished I had the ends on many of these. In the mid-70's whether the game came from network sources of home recordings storage was at a premium. In 1976 both beta and VHS were out late in the year however nobody could record more than two hours on one tape thus many game from that time period end at that point. For the networks they could only store one hour per tape or reel. In most cases they would record the entire game, but sometimes only one or two reels survive. Whenever you see an old game with the 1st and 4th QRT rest assured you're looking ar reel 1 and 3 of a game, the second is lost.
