$19 Flower Arrangement vs $140 - Which One Is Better?

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

2021 Flower Arrangements! Let's talk about the 3 ways we can create beauty and drama in our home with plants and flowers! I create 3 arrangements for you...one $19....one $140 and one wall pocket design.!!! I show you how I cover stems while leaving the light shining through the glass vase! I take you through how I feel nature outside and what we create inside would be one and the same. I also talk about something deeply personal about the people I love in my life and what they taught me this week. So come along with me and Desi today and we'll put on a show!
I am sending my love and well wishes to each and every one of you that make my life so rich and meaningful,
Love you to the moon and back,
Susan & Desi

You know, I am watching my husband who is disabled, faster and faster winding down. I thought in a blind panic there is no possible way I can ever live on my own and thrive. When I found your channel I was looking for some comfort and understanding. I was a Mother at 19 and I have been married a couple of times. I’ve never lived alone. I watch your videos, I watch you live alone, and you thrive. You have a passionate soul. I remember being that way. I don’t know how to word this without sounding mean, but, I’m just going to say it. I don’t think I’m afraid anymore of my husbands coming death. I hate it, but I’m not afraid of it, I have been facing it. I don’t want what’s left to be anger fear and regret. I want to fill the time with laughing and as much love as he will allow. I’m not afraid of being alone for the first time. For the first time in so long, I can remember again that I use be fearless. I’m prepared for what will come. I hope I am anyway. I want to look ahead without the guilt that I’m doing something wrong. I want to be prepared. The video today is one that I am going to utilize in my life now, and when I am on my own. This video is beautiful, because it opens up possibilities. It’s not just about flower arrangements, it’s about learning to look at what is right in front of you, and see the beautiful. Those Dollar tree flowers in your second had pot, were gorgeous and made me happy, your 100$ arrangement was just as gorgeous. Letting the light show through your glass vase. Every little thing that brings joy, and beauty can fill every little corner of our lives, if we just let it. Little Poet, you are a treasure, and a Blessing. You bring joy and happiness and possibilities. You are showing me, that I can look forward. Your helping make it all ok. I’m grateful I truly am.

Grieving is a personal journey that each of us take at some point in our lives. Give yourself permission to grieve in your own way. And remember that getting on with your life - is ok and you are not alone. Angels watch and guide us, if we listen. Taking the road ahead, alone, can give you strength you never knew you had. Hugs & prayers

Your comment really hit home for me my fiance of many years is a type 2 diabetic and he's not well and he just had his big toe amputated from diabetes and I know his time is limited and he stays in bed a lot, but who knows he might just outlive me, my time could be limited too and I just don't know it yet. Only the good Lord knows who he will take first. I could get hit by a car today or tomarrow and go first too. I was a mother at 16 and my ex husband was a cheater, we were married for 34 years. It broke my heart so bad and it's 17 years later and I'm still heart broken and angry, even though I don't want him anymore, I still love the man married 50 years ago and not the man he became or is today as we were high school sweethearts. He married a younger women the same age as our daughter and she was the wife of one of his coworkers, yea, it's a sick situation and shes just waiting for him to die because he has a huge stock plan retirement worth almost a million dollars and he's still working to support her and her illegitimate child that she claims is his ans he's 70 years old and he's had 2 heart attacks and 99% blockages with both heart attacks. He had a vasectomy before he met her, Lol so we know its not his child and even her grown daughter says it's not his child. Lol its just amazing what Iife deals us sometimes. I'm ok though as I do love the man I'm with very much and that's what matters. He loves me and takes good care of me as well even though he's sick. Once your husband passes away surround yourself with good honest girlfriends. Don't trust anyone with your deepest dark secrets though, not even you very best friend, I learned the hard way, as it will come back to haunt you if that best friend ever gets mad at you. Believe me I know. I wish you all the best and if you want to email me @ dafneysmom@gmail.com you very welcome to. Hugs and love from Branson, Missouri

Our daughter recently got married, when she told me what she wanted in her bouquet, I could not understand how it would look. She chose to have bougainvillea flowers in her bouquet. It made the most beautiful bouquet! When I saw it- I understood. She wore my “mantilla” ( cathedral veil) which I wore 51 years ago- talk about tears ! Everything came together!

It seems when we're young we're always "looking for love in all the wrong places." Then growing old makes us realize perhaps we weren't looking in the wrong places but looking for the wrong thing. Aging has a way of teaching us to appreciate the moments , present, past and future and the people we've been looking for our whole lives were right there in front of us. I found this to be true as I cared for my dying father a few years ago. The love and appreciation I felt for him at my age had never been as real as it was during his last weeks of his life. The circle of life became so evident to both of us. Life's circumstances don't change who we are at our core. I believe we're meant to face every struggle we endure because in the end we realize it was all a part of the plan and the end result never changes. We eventually accept the people, life and love we were so busy looking for were the people who were helping you look all along.

Love and prayers to Bill!!! My mother passed during covid December 27th when she looked at me her eyes were like a newborn baby. She didn’t know me but I believe she knew she was loved. My son got her a babydoll to hold so she wouldn’t feel alone. She’s never alone now she went home to be with my daddy the love of her life they are in heaven together now and I don’t have to worry about her anymore ❤️❤️❤️God’s blessings and love to you my dear! That’s wonderful that you can see Bill again.. it’s nice that you can be there for him. I can see vulnerability & fear in someone’s eyes as they near the end of life. Not something I like to experience anymore. Since I can’t go anywhere I have an excuse not to go to hospitals or funerals. I feel bad that I didn’t go to some funerals. Years ago I wasn’t as bad with my walking. I just didn’t want to face the end of life of some of my family. I don’t even like to think of it. Your flower arrangements are beautiful. The calla lilies are stunning. I love the Walmart & Dollar Store arrangement better. I love the wild & free look to them. It’s an interesting idea to put water in the vase to make them look real. That I don’t want to do! Too much trouble. I can’t believe Wyatt is 4 already. I remember when you talked about the pregnancy. Time does fly. Love you, Lucy

Another beautiful video, thank you. I couldn't sleep with the heat so I got up and found you! I am finding a recognition of my vulnerability as I age, a vulnerability that is very similar to childhood vulnerability, especially around the losses of friends and family. I am more willing to 'go with it ' now, tears are great cleansers and after the tears, good memories and laughter (and chocolate). One of my dearest friends is dying right now, and I can't be with her due to covid, but I think of her all the time and kind of rehearse losing her. I guess one of the hardest things to come to terms with at any age is loss. My greatest comfort is my little grandson. He makes me laugh like no one else and he said the other day 'I know what would make you happy Nanna, going on the slide' - he is right - I might just try it next time I see him! Last time I went on a slide I was 45, so I guess I kind of knew that trick long ago! The last advice I got from a child was to dye my hair - I did and it went purple!! Wasn't there a poem about wearing purple when you get old? I lost the hair pretty quick! I love your flower arrangements, I do them too, and I also like to mix real flowers with artificial ones (in water of course)! It means I can choose some of my favourite flowers that have a scent and mix them with my standby artificial ones. I like the idea of mixing plants with flowers and will give this a try. Have a good week lovely lady, you make a lot of people very happy. xx

Your comment made me cry! You beautiful woman you! I can't tell you how much it touches my heart that you noticed and understood what I was trying to say...connected the dots of our lives....as a young girl I would watch the pretty people gracefully dance across my screen...I wondered what life would have in store for me...and I realize...I am still watching and still wondering what my future holds...that gives me so much happiness and peace. I just love you girl!!!

I’m absolutely so enthralled with your videos! I’m 72 years old with arthritis issues and you encourage me to press on, even with the pain to recreate the beautiful interior of my modest home that I share with my husband of 54 years. Things are not horrible in my home, but just need a woman’s touch to spruce it up a bit. Thank you for sharing your life with your grandchildren. I have 7 grandchildren plus spouses, and 7 great grandchildren. ( Quite a crew from only 2 sons♥️) Unfortunately, they do not live close by. We stay in contact through phone calls and face time. As you say each week, have a safe and wonderful week. Looking forward to your next video.

Susan you summed it up so well at the end, you were right. We ALL WANT the same things. You learn so much from children don’t you. On the florals, one is formal, and one isn’t. I love the informal, the whimsical, the quirky. I don’t care if someone thinks it flows or goes. If I like it,it’s everything. My favorite is DESI. GOD BLESS!

Love your videos. They remind me of an old movie. And you're right, we all seek out a state of comfort. What it takes to achieve that changes throughout the different stages of our lives. Ironically, the very beginning and the later years resemble each other a great deal in that regard - we are the most vulnerable and the least secure at those times. We need to remember that when we feel frustrated with children and the elderly.

I was so glad for you to see that you had spent the day with your grandchildren. That must have been such a blessing to you. I know how important we grandparents are to our grandchildren. Seeing life from two ends of the spectrum. The very young, and the old. We are so vulnerable and yet so strong at both places. After watching your video I thought, we are just like those beautiful flowers. A different beauty in each flower and all needing a little ( maybe a lotta ) love, a little feeding, and some sunshine to get though life. And a faith in God that grows and remains steadfast through the years.

Oh, Susan, spend as much time with your grandchildren as you possibly can. That is what I do, and let me tell you, it is the best joy I have ever known. I also am solely responsible to keep my 99 year old dad in his townhome. Today, that meant cleaning, meeting with a medicare home health care nurse, and six hours later, i was gifted to be able to come home, put on my jammies, and enjoy this spectacular video. I am sooo blessed that you are my friend and have been for so long.

My mom has always seemed to me full of confidence and quelled in any fears i had ( as a young girl and adult) by her way of plunging into any new thing and speaking with confidence. I always felt safe because she seemed so sure of herself. It wasn't until years later when she needed me that i found out she didn't feel confident inside, she, " faked it until she made it" for us kids. She did that so we felt safe.

I have had a love of flowers all my life & gardening has been one of several passions! I have bought both the expensive & inexpensive faux flowers & plants, they bring my rooms to life! I had my daughters & some of my grand kids over the other day. Until covid we got together almost every week! Well that all came to an end for a very long time. When they were leaving my 6 yer old grandson was hugging me goodbye. It was one of the most longest hugs with so much love felt & he said "I'm not going to leave." I cannot tell you what an overwhelming moment that was! Yes...we had missed each other terribly, & I will keep that moment in my heart forever!

One of my ex-husbands and I have started talking. He had surgery, and I said I was here to help him. So, I went and got his medications, etc. And We have become friends again. He realized I cared enough about him to help him during his health problems. I’ll always care. He has a very, very comfortable, financial life, so he doesn’t really need anyone. But he still needed someone to care, when he wasn’t feeling good and not capable of doing everything himself. I feel really good I was able to fill that void. Now, about fake flowers. My family teases me, as I have put fake flowered in with real flowers in my back yard garden. Everyone thought they were real, until someone went to smell one of them!😂😂 Always so happy to see Dezi, he’s adorable! 🥰 About grandchildren…..”If I knew that having grandchildren were so much fun….I would have had them first!” 😂😂 (I wasn’t clever enough to come up with that saying, but I do like it!😉)
