If you continue to like this man...don't let him go. We are all in our "last semester" - please be patient, something will happen that makes everything work out well for both of you (only if you want it to). You know, when I was about five years old, I saw Marilyn Monroe on television and became totally enchanted. I told my mom about the beautiful lady and how much I adored her. For years after that it became a tradition for my mom to gift me some kind of little Marilyn Monroe item here and there. My mom is gone now, but when I see Marilyn I think of my mom also, and that sweet little tradition she kept up for all of those years. Now I think I will gift myself a Marilyn robe this Christmas. :)

Isn't it funny...I think the reason I loved her as a little girl was that she seems like a little girl herself...safe and fun...not mean...innocent. It was very sweet....I never got the feeling from any other actress.

I don't understand why Susan is suppose to be the one who has to move. It's a new day. Woman shouldn't have to give up what they have and follow the man. She has a pretty place where she is and her surroundings outside are beautiful. Her Grandkids are a part of her and her son. She shouldn't have to leave it all behind. He can come visit her if he wants too. This is so new. It needs to be taken slow. Like Susan has said, her goal is to get a nice little house with a yard for her dog Desi and Grandkids. I want what's best for her. And also, it is so early. And what if later things didn't work out. Susan would be down in Florida.

I agree with Melinda! My first inclination was to “say yes,” because it’s what women of our age do! But then Susan answered honestly, and I thought, how refreshing! And why do we, as women, have to take on men’s lives, and incorporate our lives into theirs?! Our lives matter, our lives are meaningful and important as well! Living out-of-state just isn’t the same as living nearby. If my grandmother had lived out of state, we wouldn’t have had the incredibly strong bond we had, we never would have attained the level of intimacy we experienced, and we wouldn’t have been best friends! She was my soulmate and savior. I lived nearby. She had grandchildren that lived out-of-state, they were practically strangers… Much affection from the city of Detroit! Linda

If Susan really cares for him, she'll make it work. Right now they're getting to know each other. Wait for the "honeymoon to be over" that is what will tell how much they care for each other. I drove alone to another state this weekend.. My car broke down. Had to get a taxi and stay in this town until car gets repaired. Watched this video in my hotel. I was feeling very down. To pass the time I went to Walmart and saw the white coat you modeled and I smiled. Thank you for helping us in ways you might not be aware of.

I worked in film and tv production for 25 yrs and did a film with KENNY ROGERS. He was a very kind man and his brother Leland was even nicer and we became friends. Your videos are high quality and I see the work you put in from a production viewpoint. Keep up the great work. Remember Grandchildren grow up and stop having time for the older ones in their life. I came to the part, "And so I'm offering this simple phrase, To kids from one to ninety-two"....I realized as it came out of my mouth.... (she was 96 at the time)...I thought oh-no!...I hope she was not offended, but I beat myself up over that every time I hear that song! ...So that is where MY mind went, when you said that... oops! :-)

Hi Susan Desi in his Christmas cap, It doesn’t get any cuter I have that hair accessory, I also stoped blowing my hair out. I have naturally curly hair, I use a hair mask twice weekly, and after I wash my hair I wrap it up in a soft tee shirt until it is dry, then I use the heated brush. Loved this video and it's so nice to see how you talked about your date. You were smiling so much that I could tell you really liked him. I'm surprised he asked you that question so soon, but it must mean he could be serious about you. As much as you really want to live near your grandchildren, it can be difficult. I am 76 and lived in California for most of my life. I met my forever husband 16 years ago and 11 years ago, we moved to Idaho, because my one daughter, and three grandchildren, moved there a few years before. My other daughter and her three children live in Arizona. So, I have learned that you can't always live near your children and grandchildren your whole life. We take frequent flights to visit them often. Now, four of my grandchildren are old enough to move away to school or just live somewhere else. You're younger than me and you never know what might happen in the next 10 or 20 years. You don't have to make any decisions now and you might feel differently in time 💖

I have to agree with what you said at the beginning of the video. My Birthday is on Dec 14, so Christmas was always special but my mother died on Nov 2019 2 days before Thanksgiving and since that every Xmas is a little sadder.

Every December I feel it. The dread and sadness. My mother was on vacation and she never came home. No body should die on vacation. I try to get in the mood for the season. My grown kid's don't know the dread and sorrow that I feel at the start of this season. So glad I can tell you how I really feel. You've been a godsend to me Susan. I just love your videos! They are so peaceful and honest. You are such a doll and I truly hope this man is a keeper. He’d be a very lucky and a happy man if you made the choice to share your lives. Funny story…that watch just grabbed me. But it was tugging at me in such a strange way. So I got up and looked in my closet and sure enough, I saw an Ann Klein box. I opened it and inside was a beautiful gold and emerald green watch I had bought last year and totally forgot about!!! Oops! Mark sounds wonderful. But my answer would have been the same. My granddaughters are 9,9,6, and 5. I have taken care of them since birth. They are everything to me. I will never leave Minnesota because every minute with them is meaningful and precious. ( Kind of a bummer, though, in January!)

OMG! Kids move, mine went from 40 minutes to 13 hours drive away. Thought I wouldn't survive! My one year old, very first grand cried and cried every time we left. Hubby would ask what was wrong with us, "we will be back!" 24 years later I know he was right. We vacationed together, we stayed in their home for days at a time, we babysat for a week at a time when parent had to travel for work! Mega quality time I didn't have when they were close by. Then her spouse died young and mine, her dad, died. We considered moving closer but life changes. We are very ok with managing the miles. (My relationship with both grands is amazing 24 years later.) I am always welcome..... never does my daughter say, "I will be busy." Distance when there is love is not a problem.

How FUN!! I love all the gift ideas! Every year, at Christmas, several girlfriends of mine get together and share a gift, some laughs and of course, a wonderful dessert!! There is nothing like girlfriends that have been in your life and gone through all the ups and downs with you! I am so glad that your date went well! I stopped wearing makeup 10 years ago. I put a moisturizer on my face a little lipgloss and do my eyebrows and that’s it. I have salt and pepper here mostly pepper and I am 71. I’m all Italian my skin is olive and I’ve been taking care of my skin since I was a teenager and moisturizing my body since I was a teenager. So I guess that helps😀 I am going to look into the natural products that you advertised. I would love to put a bowtie on Otis but he’ll have no part of that thank you very much. I’m so excited for you and your date.. Either way it’ll work out and you’ll be fine as always, Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and may the Lord bless you. This is the time of year where it’s hard for me too I lost my childhood sweetheart 2014, We went to high school together.
