I feel like you and my wife are in cahoots to ruin my life. Given a choice of only being able to eat one type of food for the rest of my life I would pick fruit every time. She has me mostly carnivore now to fix my blood pressure and weight. This video was the final nail in the coffin of my happiness of ever eating large amounts of fruit again. All kidding aside, you guys have helped save my life. Thanks

Fruits are one the sneakiest foods out there. I ate 5 -6 servings on a daily basis all my life. Started a low-carb diet over 2 years ago and funny enough I didn't suffer from scurvy. On the contrary, every aspect of my health got better. So a few months ago I decided to add fruits again on a daily basis, not donuts just fruits within 2 - 3months Many of the symptoms I had before low carb started to come back i.e. weight gain, swollen bleeding gums, heartburn. etc. Went off the fruits and the symptoms disappeared again Dr. Berry is 100% correct on this one. Life experience is much more compelling than something written in a medical journal.

5/6 servings of fruit every day for years is too much. But it wouldn't be so much if they didn't cultivate our fruit to have such a high sugar index. The fruit we eat today is not the fruit of our ancestors. If it were, there wouldn't be a problem.

It's better to stay away until you lose the weight and get your body fat adapted. Then you can have a handful of blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, or strawberries...and like a small handful. Good with a grass-fed full fat yogurt or a few on a salad...but I mostly stay away. I have a mango tree and eat a few during the season now and give the rest away. A couple of years ago I was introduced to IF via a video by Dr. Jason Fung. Shortly thereafter, I found fatty liver video by Dr. Ken Berry that got me started on a path to healing my liver...#1 culprit was cutting out the almost 2-3 daily servings of fruits (bananas and grapes mostly) in my diet. About 45 lbs later, my liver has shrunk and my kidneys are now working normally. Fruits are natures life-saving mechanism for hard times...our bodies love it and is specially adapted to process it in our liver. It's probably the main reason we love sweets. Problem is none of us have hard times anymore (and I'm talking about lean harsh winters or drought where food is scarce). Now we have year-round fruits. We just don't need it anymore.

It would depend on the soil it’s grown in, the variety and ripeness of watermelon and the amount of rainfall/irrigation it receives. But as a general rule, anything you can make wine or alcohol from has a sugar content. According to what I just looked up, it has 17g sugar per 280g serving. Most of that weight is water (which is why the old adage says don’t eat watermelon at night or you’ll wet the bed). But that is higher sugar content than figs and bananas (according to webmd).

In my honest opinion, its fine eating all of these fruits, but like he said, in small amounts. Especially if someone is dieting and eating fruit to curve their sugar cravings, eating a whole piece of fruit is 100% better than eating a donut with 'added vitamins etc', simply because the fruit will not come with the wheat and other added ingredients comprising a donut, as well as a lot of fruits containing copious amounts of vitamins, fibre etc. The simple thing to do to lose weight (from my own experience), is simply count the calories you consume. I was successful in my weight loss, despite having 1 or 2 pieces of fruit listed in this video every day, whilst taking into account that the fruit is sugar are carbohydrates, and balanced my daily diet accordingly. That and intermittent fasting worked like a charm for me.

Fruit should not be for lunch or dinner. While on paper they contain calories they will not sustain a person for long periods. The odd bit of fruit here and there can be handled by most people. Diet should be based on Cruciferous vegetables, beef, chicken, fish, nuts, avocado and eggs. Fruit should supplement that and not be the basis of energy.

I'm back to my sophomore year college weight. Never dreamed that would happen. But then, I didn't see the heart attack coming either cuz I was eatin' LOW FAT. I didn't know low fat is high carb, or that high carb is high sugar, or that grain is sugar, or that sugar drives insulin drives heart disease, which drives people to poor health and/or an early grave. These days I nibble on sliced strawberries on high fat desserts, and I handpick a pint or so of wild raspberries on my lot in late July. That's it. I think that when our ancient ancestors were living in the wild as hunter gatherers, eating wild fruit in the summer/autumn was no problem. But these cushy days, eating huge frankenfruit and drinking high fructose corn syrup year around is a big problem.

You can trick your tastebuds with those green smoothies by substituting banana extract and stevia. But you’ve still got to limit your eating window. But if you need to lose weight, you can’t do it without making your body think you’re fasting. You have to eat fats to lose fat. And you need lots of fat for your cells and especially your brain. To lose weight you have to burn STORED fat and the only way to burn stored fat is to get into ketosis. You can’t get in ketosis if your body keeps processing sugars and carbs and secreting insulin.

I started my diet 25 days ago and I lost 10 lbs by cutting out processed sugar, red meat, lowering my carbs. I don’t eat out. I’m on a Whole Foods meal plan. I sometimes have fruit. I don’t eat a lot of it but I eat a banana a day cause it keeps me from having leg cramps and muscle spasms. I believe that you can eat fruit in moderation. Moderation for me is having one or two servings a day like berries and bananas. Sometimes watermelon.

That is relatively fine approach. If you want to check your metabolism look into getting a Fibroscan and CAC scan. They both cost about $200 each. Fibroscan can look at liver to tell if there is any damage and the CAC scan can identify if there is any build up in the arteries. Both scans are brilliant cheap predictors of health and can give enough time to turn health around if there are issues.

I was starving awhile back, and lost two inches on my waste. I don't recommend doing this to lose weight. I got very sick. I appreciate your videos. Thanks for sharing this knowledge and wisdoms with me 🇨🇱🧡
