Small talk with strangers is not "meaningless" even though it may feel so at times. It helps foster a sense of community. Too many people in this generation don't know how to interact with or have a pleasant exchange with someone they don't know and too many people nowadays won't even say hello to their own neighbors.

Absolutely. Define "meaningless" , BTW. It's not meaningless if a stranger smiles and thanks you for brightening their day - and vice versa. It's a pretty arrogant dismissal of making a difference, however small, and you might even learn something. Intelligent people are inquisitive and like learning - fancy that.

Small talk is meaningless by default. Otherwise it would be deep talk. When you are more interested in ideas rather than people, small talk becomes a burden.

Individuals who value intellectual growth often welcome constructive criticism as an opportunity to learn and improve.
Pretty much describes me. I would add that intelligence has multiple forms and what the mostly covered hhere was emotional intelligence. Very rarely I meet people with high IQ and EQ at same time. I know geniuses with an IQ of 140+ and EQ of a brick. I am loner by choice but can perform perfectly in social situations. How wonderful to have accidentally found this video. Thank you for sharing
Intelligent people get out of their own way!
I still struggle with 2 of these pitfalls, but I won't mention which though 😄. I'll walk away from a situation and immediately question, "Why did I say that?'. Life is a work in progress, and I'm still evolving.

Good video and has many inspiring points. Who specifically wrote this? Were any references or sources used to write it?
The one thing I'd say that would actually be affected by intelligence from this entire video was the last one, unnecessary risks, which is the only one here where the outcome is proportional to your intelligence. Here's why many of the rest either don't correlate at all, or do not cause the outcomes on the list at all; intelligence doesn't correlate with reduced ignorance as intelligence can often be used incorrectly, that is to say, it's easier to rationalise bad positions when you're more intelligent. Reduced conformity also doesn't correlate with intelligence, intelligence is not something that makes you follow truth, be more individualistic, etc. Intelligence may help you develop those positions more often than people who are less intelligent, but it doesn't mean you would hold these positions because you are intelligent, this is a causation/correlation fallacy. For example, disgust is a severe illness of the mind, it causes people to develop moral systems based on fallacies and easily refutable claims. Such feeling is common among all people, regardless of intelligence. Feedback also doesn't correlate, as people who are more intelligent tend to also be more disagreeable. It's as though the author of the video watched a few movies where the protagonist was an intellectual and thought "that's how those people think!" when in reality, they're isolationists who are disagreeable. Pertaining to superseding emotion for better decision making, again, not correlated, as well as "mindless media consumption", sorry, intellectuals do it too, it's not based on intelligence.

Finally an intelligent (and informed) comment.
I suppose I must be (semi)-intelligent, then. Excepting #'s 1, 4, and seven, I fit ll of these to a T. In the case of #1, I engage in all sorts of small talk. #4 -I have a bad habit of taking things personally even when it was not intended to be so taken. #7 -I tend to let emotions get in my way too much. By qualification, I have manic-depression and these are all very typical for this illness. On the other hand, I totally disregard societal values and march to the beat of my own drummer. I am exceptional at thinking outside the box.

I cringe at calling myself "gifted" or intelligent., however I am a "neuro divergent" person that is a fixed divergent/convergent thinker. I constantly have intrusive rational creative thoughts even today. I truly think academics or modern IQ tests are not a good gauge for true intelligence. I mean you can ask a child what there interests are and get a better prediction for intelligence. I know I watched adult themed movies like "Kramer vs Kramer" and "Society" and even the 1988 "The Vanishing" when I was 5 and 6. I sat down and followed every bit of them. I suck at academics too. I am a multi instrumentalist and high level darftsman(Art) too. Maybe that says something.

I think intelligent people are not afraid of reality and most of the time they are positive
Our intelligence always misunderstood by ocean of stupid and shallow people. Do we intelligent people have to explain every move we take? Those people do not understand us is not our fault. It is their own shortcomings. I always just avoid and repel those by not responding to their moves. Ignoring is the best. We are not obligated to respond to any moves. If they do not get it, its their problem, not us. I have had enough of nuisance from these people to the point i just ignore them. It reall works 😆

As a member and former officer of Mensa, I can say that a lot of intelligent people do not do these things, and a lot of not-so-intelligent people do. You're redefining intelligence, and basically committing a No True Scotsman fallacy (i.e., claiming that no *truly* intelligent person does these things).
they refuse to admit when their wrong they blame everyone else. they only acknowledge their good points, but what is the difference between smart and arrogance. just because someone has teh gift of talking and manipulation don't make them smart
Just naming the 10 things intelligent people avoid is enough. No explanation or examples of what small talk or willful ignorance is, etc. is required.
