I had a friend who liked to argue for its own sake. He would very often disagree with something I had said simply to pick an argument - and he was much better at arguing than I was, leading me to become exhausted whenever we parted. Suffice it to say, this was only one of several other problems which I had with our relationship. I finally realized that he's a bit of a bully, and I just don't like a huge portion of his personality. And rather than demand that he change it (which I have no right to do), I ended our friendship. I definitely feel more at peace now.

Sounds like a narcissist I once knew...rude, ignorant and greedy...other traits were mediocre grammar correction in inappropriate situations and always trying to put you down in front of other people, in short a conversation blocker.

I have to agree don’t keep people in your life who constantly criticize you and shoot you down weather it’s family or friends. Yes people who encourage bad behaviour s run from them .Yea people who are ashamed of you need to go they want you to be a secret. Yes people who compete with you are not your friends this is really unhealthy. Yes people who bring negativity to your life not healthy .I’ve experienced lots of these .

The first one hits the spot. I had a "friend" like that. I don't have a lot of friends so anyone who showed interest in me are immediately my friends. It took me two years and a few people to make me realize that she never treated me as a friend. Just someone who can be there when she needed something especially someone who can cover her lies for her. When I realized it myself I turned my back on her and never talk to her again. Then I learned that it's better to be alone than to have someone like her in my life.

You can't put a blanket on a friendship. It's not the asking as long as you are paid back. Someone is always better off. There are some valid points so about the one that's always in competition with you or the one that's always criticizing. on those points I agree. But of course, friends do help out friends as opposed to no. 1. That's what friends do. Several of those mentioned friends do not do. Hopefully you're not so desperate for people to be your friends that you submit yourself to all this, and on the flip side sometimes people just need to be told what they're doing or saying is wrong. there are a lot of people that are clueless but still your friends

Hello brainy dose and hello to everyone reading Thank you for taking your time and effort and for making this video , cause it really helped me to understand what kind of people or friends I should stay away from. Most of my friends are constantly needy and always ask me for stuff especially money because they see me as some sort of bank , I'm really tired of being gullible and can't seem to stop giving into their demands . Unfortunately my boyfriend is also one of those people who needs something from me and doesn't give back , can you help me by making another video that could relate to my situation please , if that's not a problem of course and I'd really like to get some advise on commenters out theer as well . Thank you for taking the time to read this , and I hope to get really helpful advise .

A couple of "male friends" I've known over 45 years, both; only want to be friends when they need something and have constantly tried to push it to more than friends . . . As both have repeatedly told me it's because I have my own apartment, vehicle, paid bills etc. i believe that they both just want a "sugar momma" because neither are nor have been very responsible

I would tread carefully on "ending" any friendships as most people will fall at least partially into several of these categories. It's better to remain friends but distance yourself from them but burning too many bridges and having few to no friends after can be a worse situation.
