"You are the average of your closest 5 friends (or family)" is very true. Saying NO to certain people and things definitely is the key to staying on your OWN track. I tell people I can't go to that restaurant, that trip, buy that NEW car, blah blah blah you get the point. I'm happier living up to my expectations versus other people's expectations.

Yessss 🙌!! You always need to do what’s best for you and if they don’t understand they aren’t real friends! I’ve had friends in the past who just told me they couldn’t make it and it made us closer too! I do like making money more than spending money to be honest 😂

Silvia, I think you should do a video on how to pay for college in the U.S. I went to a community college then transferred to a state school. My jobs pay for my tuition so I keep everything I make from my part-time jobs.

Ohhhh this is a good idea!!! This is amazing that you did that! So smart to do a 2-year at a community college and then go over to a state school! You definitely saved a lot of money there! Thank you so much for the tip! Will definitely do one!

I know I am 3 years late. But if one of you could help guide me through some of this. I’m interested in financial planning. I think I would like to do my CFP And CFA later for my own firm. You recommend going to community college ? For what exactly ? Business or would it be finance? I’m a bit confused by all of this. Thanks in advance.

Good video. I definitely agree and can testify to #9. I've always had a 401k through my work but put off investing my other savings for years, not because of feeling like I don't have enough to invest but due to my risk averse nature. It wasn't until I thought about the risks of not investing like losing money to inflation (which might only get worse given the amount of money being printed) that prompted me to get started. Once I did, my outlook and risk tolerance changed quite a bit. Similar to how others might get excited about going shopping for new clothes or whatever when they get their paycheck, now I get excited about figuring out which investments I want to make and "spending" a portion my paycheck on that. Apparently I'm also the type that spends Friday nights watching finance videos on youtube so that last part may not apply to everyone.

Tim, this is so common and I see it all the time! I definitely agree that the biggest risk is not taking any risk right now (definitely agree that I don't know how the Fed is going to keep inflation low at this rate). I definitely agree with you that I get WAY more excited to invest my money than to spend it! I never got any thrill or dopamine off buying useless depreciating assets like clothes (I do like cars though hahah) but I am glad that you finally started investing! I am planning on giving my future unborn children stocks of companies that they play with instead of toys too!! haha
