This was super interesting! I totally agree that it’s not a good look to bounce around instead of sticking to a job for a few years. It’s so hard on hiring managers!

Hi Silvia, thank you so much for the video. Just get hired as a financial advisor in a leading company! One thing I think really matters for a career changer is signing up for the CFP board! HR will see your resume and assume you are serious about an advisory career. Just keep swimming!

Why am I watching this 2 Years after... good video. I am a Lending Product Manager, but have always been keen on Financial advisory. I wonder, if it's the right time to move to switch careers without being impacted financially.

Great content. Because you have the CFA do you find yourself managing most the assets yourself or do you use models and focus on relationships?

sorry but this is a naive viewpoint. if someone has changes careers it shows that they are not a slave to an institution and have confidence in themselves. if they stay it shows that you are a good employer

I am currently working in Accounting and I really want to get my foot into the Finance Industry. How would you suggest I do this? I work for a private media firm that does not have a huge department. I don’t know if I should gain more experience in my position or find a new position at another company.

I would try to get an internship or volunteer experience at a financial advisory firm so you can see if it’s really what you like to do!

Is it possible for career changers to go straight to independent RIA if they have a good knowledge of the industry?
