Blown away you’ve scaled CANSLIM (with your own improvements, of course) across your client base. Been studying O’Neil deeply for two years and hadn’t yet seen someone effectively deploy growth techniques like this - this is awesome and an amazing counter to poor value strategies. HUGE fan. I'm sadly not there 😭some family sent the mugs this week so my bf and I could feel like we're there because we weren't able to go last year hahaha one day we'll be able to travel and take vacations and relax and visit our favorite places 🤞🏖

@@EmilyDowgialo You know what helps though sometimes!! I will turn on the TV and put on a KZread Aerial view of Spain // Mexico // some exotic vacation so I can pretend I am there!!! It kind of works sometimes while I am doing some work!!

Nice hearing about your 2021 themes. I also like to think about industries that might take off and use that to narrow my search for investment ideas. Admittedly, lots of my ideas just come from Cathie Wood and seeing what other famous investors are doing and talking about. It's fun when my individual picks work out but it's only a relatively small portion of my portfolio as I'm mostly in index funds. Are you mainly picking your own individual stocks or just a portion of your investments?

I LOVE Cathie Wood. She's amazing I just have no idea about space exploration to be honest. And to answer your question about index funds I have about 50% index funds, 50% single stocks. As I grow my portfolio I am focusing on just buying and holding onto 30 really high quality stocks (mostly growth and innovation) and just diversify my portfolio that way. I just don't like how most index funds today can be highly concentrated into the FANGS and it's hard to find index funds that don't contain them. I think index fund investing works very well especially if you are highly emotional or starting out investing because it's easy but I really enjoy investing and analyzing different companies. Like legit it's Friday night am analyzing different companies so it's a fun hobby and I enjoy it a lot! And yes I focus on Cathie Wood and Denis Lynch from Morgan Stanley--he's great too!

@@SilviaManentFinancialAdvisor Yeah valid point on the FANG concentration and what can come with that. When I first started picking individual stocks (as a quarantine hobby all of 8 months ago haha) it was actually to try to to pick very stable stocks as a bond replacement since I didn't think bonds had a good risk vs return after rates dropped. Since then I've gotten more open to picking riskier things that I hope beat the market - thus following Cathie Wood. I am always impressed by her thoughts in her "in the know" segment and how she just shares them for free each month. I don't know much about space companies either and she may never top her success in 2020 but I have no qualms with deferring to her or other credible experts with good track records. In fact, I wish more people would defer to experts these days, specifically doctors and scientists, but I'm getting off topic now
