Hi Marta, your video is, once again, very inspirational. What pains me is that somebody, who is so creative, clever, enthusiastic and with open heart teaches us how to make art, says about herself she is not even an artist! Marta, you teach us, in yours videos, to believe in ourselves, so I beg you to do the same because you ARE AN AMAZING ARTIST! You don't need to have "a certificate" to call yourself artist. That what you produce is matter. And to me it is art and doesn't matter what you say for me you'll always be an Artist!!! Big hug xxx

I agree wholeheartedly. This is the first video I have watched of Marta's and when she said she wasn't an artist, after showing us so much of her wonderful work in this single video, I was agog!

I am new to mixed media and always watched the videos from Gabrielle Pollaco and Finnabair with envy. I thought I could never do anything like it until I started watching your videos Marta. You are a true artist and a fantastic teacher and I'm learning so much from you. Thank you so much xx

You think...??? I thought the Irish part was the easiest to hear! Not just the accent but the way the words are arranged in a sentence. It was the European accent i couldn't place....Mixed together has a kind of Russian twang to it lol. But what also convinced me the Irish seemed correct, is that she uses a lot of UK elements in her art, such as docrafts brand (papermania, Anita's etc ) and items from a shop called the works! (I love the works! It is so cheap and has such a large selection of crafty bits, books, gifts and stationery!) :-D xx

I don't do a lot of art journaling but I enjoy your videos. I was making birthday cards while watching this. Being able to talk abd fussy cut is an AMAZING skill!

I loved your finish product at the end. I love to watch you create and those are the videos I like to watch!

Maremi, you are wonderful. What I love the most about your style is the never-ending "oh I Love that" because you create and experiment such great soul fulfilling emotions as you do so. I need that. Can I imitate you? And maybe it will become a habit to feel great and in ecstasy about art and life. Love ya!

Love the way you used the watercolors. this is a nice alternative to sprays because I only have homemade sprays. also, images from coloring books are good for focal points.

Love seeing your art. This is a handy video to watch. Its easier do a background almost without thinking but when it comes time to do an image nothing comes to mind. I have quite a few backgrounds in my journal with no focal point.Thank you so much, this one's a keeper.

Great video, Marta! You can always scribble the Neocolors onto your mat, then add water, if you want them to be more liquidly like the watercolors you used.

Love your videos! Thanks so much. You're jumpstarting my creativity. I'm just beginning, and looking for cheap things to use. Love your yummy focal points, looking forward to slowly get some. Last night I started my first painting. I use match sticks to light my candles & I've been saving them. I used a few, and I have been saving the metal flat things that hold the wick for the votives. I also saved the plastic hanger things I cut off of the top of things, and paper jewelry hangers I've bought. And this morning I thought of pipe cleaners. They are SO cheap, so colorful, you can size them with pliers and bend the top into a 'flower' circle, tie them together with used dental floss. When some spices get old, sprinkle them over the top of the gesso. I made a big jar of gesso last night, loving it. I added a few more things today & will gesso more this evening & finish. Thank you also for teaching me that less is more, and leaving things uncompleted is a good thing, because one can come back later & finish it with the yummy stuff when it finally comes. Oh! Forgot to include the scraps of textured shelf liner. Great way to add texture. And I am looking for old cloth in my box I use for rags. I have some elastic that lost its stretch and I will add that.

Bubble Wrap. Nylon stocking. Cotton Balls dipped in color. Plastic holding the things on the cards like pens, etc. Jute. I also love the Xmas ribbon that curls. Am going to cut that long strand in narrow lengths & then curl. Old cards I've been saving. Postcards. I've been saving old credit cards. And business cards. Broken necklaces. And my building has a lending library, and it was FULL of hardback books people have put down there that I'd never read, but I grabbed a bunch of them for the binders to make junk journals, and for their pages, and I found a really big book about IRAs with tabs that I painted on the pages last night. It wasn't watercolor paper, and I need a better brush, but it was a good beginning. All free supplies.

You *are* an artist! Most definitely! I always refer to you as a mixed media artist. :-)

Watercolour is my favourite medium. They say it's hard to use but the more you use it the more you get to love the surprises and how it has a mind of its own. I'd love to see another watercolour painting vid. Thanks Marta! x

Love this video! I really enjoy working in adult coloring books. I color or paint the pages and then reduce them on my copier to use in art journaling. Or I can copy the page in black and fussy cut elements , such as flowers, butterflies, faces, etc... to do in many different colors.

i have been finger drawing with heavy modelling paste, it's really easy. sketch an outline of what you want (picture frame, wings etc.) then just dab the paste on with your finger. let it dry then cut it out! x

I'm glad you finished off this background. The stone stencil is one of my favourite and your project came out great.

Maybe your thought processes on how you decide (and why) as to where you choose to put your focal point....like why you put it to the bottom, or the top, or to the right, or left. What is your reasoning as to why you choose that. Balance? Weight? Color? Size? Maybe explain what you're thinking to yourself as you make your decision on 'where' or 'why' you will 'choose your location' for your focal point? Please!!!
