You truly define what it means to be an ARTIST!!!! You teach what I assume isn't taught in art schools and should be... message being you don't need to have the expensive 'products' to do amazing work. I love your video and have gained a lot from it!!! It's so basic but creates incredible depth. I usually am able to fast forward thru videos to see the different steps but I found I both needed and wanted to watch your entire video to see and hear your steps and processing which has allowed me to gain a whole new level of understanding and learning (and hopefully now doing)!!! It's awesome to see someone make such a beautiful piece of art without all the expensive art products because they truly are over my budget (and I end up watching many videos but not making anything because I don't have the $ to buy art supplies so I just watch instead of doing) and I think this is better than if one had and would have used all those 'art products' because they "change" everything and create a completely different image. As the saying goes "sometimes less is more" or "sometimes you can do more with less" (and it's a lot less overwhelming). So..... THANK YOU!!!!!

I have been following your videos for a while now and have learned so much from them. But what I have come to appreciate the most about you is your positive, loving and encouraging nature. There is no doubt you have been gifted with an artistic talent and you are so generously sharing it with us but the genuine love you have makes it all the more pleasurable to be a part of as you create your beautiful art. Thanks Maremi.

Absolutely stunning, Marta! Of course, purple is always stunning, but what you've done with it here .... Wow! I so much appreciate you exploring art with non-traditional materials and supplies. What a wonderful gift that is for those who can't afford all the 'good stuff', as you put it. ~ Elizabeth

I was totally resistant to get involve with art journaling, I really just started watching the mixed media altered projects......20 videos later I’m looking at journal covers and love doing them, then I did the packaging projects. Now I’ve got a list, the envelope journal is one of my absolute favorites, turning an old book into a journal.....anyway, I’m addicted to your channel.😍❤️💋

Hi Marta, I mentioned a week or so ago that I had been binge watching your videos and loving them. I also mentioned how I'd made my first piece and it was horrid. Thing is, I was going through my old art and actually, I was wrong, I had made several mixed media pieces just from scraps of art that I had done and some were quite nice and made me say "ooooo pretty". As for the hideous piece, I went back and adjusted and even though it is not WOW, it is "okay" - meh. You win some, you lose some. I began working on a colorful piece but could not wrap my head around what Id do with it. I teach Psychology in University and one of the things I teach on is sleep and how, during that first 15 minutes of sleep, comes a ton of creativity and in fact, Salvador Dali used this method to break out of creative slumps. So, I went to bed, not with this method on my mind, BUT, when I began to doze, it just came to me and I was so excited, I had to get up and get started! Anyway, I just want you to know how inspiring you are, how much I am loving your videos AND your voice is possibly the most soothing voice i have ever heard! I am also enjoying following you on Insta!

I have been avoiding a mixed media project for ages and you've really given me some bravery. I didn't have gesso, I didn't like the way that the homemade stuff turned out, so I just used some lightweight spackle (the stuff to fill holes and cracks) mixed with some acrylic paint and it seems to be working so far! Thanks again for these videos!

Maremi, I I’m sure glad I found you. I got into crafting last year and love it, I love buying new tools and materials etc. anyway, there’s only so much space to house mason jars and wreaths etc. so what a wonderful way to get my arts and crafts on than in a journal! I love working w paper and gesso and inks etc. but here’s the thing, if I hadn’t really heard yiu when yiu emphasize not to get stuck in making it perfect or like some else’s, I’d still be tearing the house apart looking for eye droppers so I can use it like yiu do. I actually caught myself and stopped. Still created, without the eye dropper and the world didn’t end. I also used string and tissue paper which I would have never thought of. So I’ve started my first art journal today and I have you to thank👍🙃🎼

I have gone to dollar tree store here in the states and bought eye shadows made by LA colors with mica as the first ingredient and made my own homemade water colors that are like pearl ex or twinkling h2o's by adding mod podge for a acrylic paint ( must use as you mix there's no saving, gives enough time to work with right away but it drys in 15 min or so. if you mix with gum Arabic it makes like cakes water color type to put in small containers, to have on hand. all cheap homade art supplies. made my own gesso and mod podge. many recipe for these on u tube. Also made my own modeling paste from spackle you get at any hardware store. . so used all my art supplies I followed along with you. even use same eye shadows to make spray color by adding to 99% alcohol to mini spray bottle, also use dry in container as purchased for $1.00 each. made 4 5 ways to use these. They do have a sparkle and shimmer. haven't added to my modeling paste or gel mediums yet to try. Hope this gives new ideas for these projects. hugs!

Wow! that's what we call a "slam dunk"! I love the colors and boy oh boy... you are the texture guru. :) I saved your video for the evening when everyone else was asleep... like I get to have a nice chat with you, just hanging out creating. Sometimes I use hair spray as a fixative when I'm out of my real stuff...it works great (goes with your theme of no fancy-shhhmancy artsy stuff.) I love to use the pallet knife also, to make mountains, peaks and valleys. When the color touches it, or is magical! I love when you say, " Do you see what I see?" :) It reminds me of my favorite Christmas song by Bing Crosby, "Do you hear what I hear?" It is always such a joy to spend the evening watching you in your element, to hear your thought process, and man! Do I get inspired! Every time, no matter what your subject is, I just ADORE your creations. I know how time consuming all this creating, editing, posting, follow up is and I appreciate your time and sweet spirit. As usual, I'm sending you blessings from the great Pacific Northwest, Lakewood, Washington!

I have just finished watching both of your wonderfully inspirational videos on your 'no art products used' journal pages. I never even thought about using eye make up and because I could never afford the propper blending chalks, but I will be using eye make up from now on... Now all I am missing is the Gesso, I think I may have some white acrylic though. I will have to raid my art draw to find some. Thank you for bringing me back to the world of art journaling as I had lost interest before from other not very well explained videos, I had a go at art journaling along with those ones and my pages kept going a bit wrong. I will enjoy watching and creating along with your tutorials over and over again, I just know that my confidence will fly once I get my first page down. Thank you : )

Tracy Gould There are many DIY gesso videos on KZread and perhaps you have all the ingredients at home. I made mine a couple of days ago and works great using only baby powder, water and glue. Actually What I made was clear gesso, if you prefer heavy gesso, you can add white acrylic paint.
