How I turned my small Etsy shop into a MULTI-MILLION dollar business!
Many of you know me as the law student who skipped taking the bar to follow her art dreams. But there is so, so much more to the story than that. The early projects. The setbacks. The financial decisions in the face of student loans. The fact that I originally refused to start an Instagram page?! I'm coming up on 9 years of EBD and looking back on the journey is equal parts excitement, relief and disbelief. I'm so thankful for the growth over these 9 years, and I'm excited to see what comes in year 10!!

If you're new here - welcome! I started my business on my 18th birthday selling paintings I made in my free time. I continued to run and grow it throughout college and graduate school, and into law school at Duke University. Now I'm running the business full time, law degree in hand, and I wouldn't have it any other way! I sell my art on my website, wholesale on Faire.com and I license my work to be sold in stores including Home Goods, Marshalls, At Home, and World Market.

Wow, that is so cool! What is your shop called?
You're a huge inspiration to me! I have been running an Etsy shop selling mainly stickers since late 2021, and I've had some success but nothing substantial. I'm super proud of how far I've come, and I have my own website/online shop through Shopify now... I just feel like I'm lacking direction. I love my products and designs and I'm so proud of them, but getting people to see them is the hardest part. I've also been dealing with some pretty severe anxiety and burnout, so I'm just hanging on by a thread. I hope to one day be as successful as you.
Thank you for sharing your journey! It gives insight and hope. Sometimes it feels like it takes too long to see the growth we as small business owners envision. A beautiful reminder that it takes time, enjoy the process and just take it one step at a time and eventually you'll achieve your goals. Congrats on the success!
So inspiring! Congratulations on your success. It's clear you have worked very hard to get where you are!

You go girl! I love how open you are, it's a great quality to have. I have been following you only for a few months now from Australia & I have been buying things that I need to start my own small business. It will be working from out of my garage as I don't have a car. Your art work is beautiful! Though I won't be selling what you are selling, I too love art & gardening so I will have those things mixed within my business. I can't 'work' fulltime as I'm disable but that is just a word to be. I hope you keep getting bigger & better as it's your dream & dreams are very important. More Power to you ☺ PS. I've now watched 1 & 2.
Yes, I am very inspired. Thank you for giving me hope that my business will work❤ can't wait the part 2🙌🏽

Its the transition from making yourself with a cutting machine to out sourcing is, I think, the biggest leap, and sometimes a gamble. So happy for you it has blossomed in to such a successful enterprise.

Thank you, I totally agree! I originally printed my greeting cards and some of my stickers myself, but finding a good manufacturer has definitely been key as I transitioned. And sometimes a manufacturer who is great with one product isn't for another. It's a lot of trial and error.
I LOVE the planner that I got from your website. I’m so proud 🎉!! TikTok sent you to me ❤

I love seeing this. I started following you on TikTok a couple of years ago and have been following your journey ever since. You inspired me to start doing stickers and such and would LOVE to learn more from you. Sales are non existent here, so learning from mistakes and successes can be so beneficial! Also, I love where you are located! The few times I’ve been down that way, that was always a must do area. Love the history, the atmosphere and seeing your shop in the videos, you fit right in! Congratulations on everything. Nice to see videos of folks showing all the HARD work that goes into a business, not just the get rich quick AI generated schemes out there. 😉
