What I like about your way of teaching is the fact that you first show the lick and then play it “in the mix” ! Great video.

Yea you go to their store.
One of my fav vids. I've always been so shy in regards to scales and licks and now I feel much more confident and actually I enjoy my playing big time. Thanks Darrell.
I thought I'd throw this out there to KZread noobs, if you click the settings button on the bottom right of the screen, you can change the playback speed. It really helps to slow this stuff down when we're trying to figure out how to play some of these things. I didn't know this for the longest time.

Darrell, thank you! ...this is BY FAR one of the easiest and most well demonstrated and generally easy lessons for my skill range I've come across in the channel. This explains SO MUCH!
This is by far my favorite Music/Guitar Channel. Every time I watch it, it makes me want to learn more and more on my guitar. Darrel is the kind of instructor you would want as a student, young or old.
damn man, been playing for 15 years, that was the easiest/best tutorial I've found yet. Thank you
Been playing for a very long time and this video is a prime example of why I could never give lessons. Your explanations and level of patience is to be admired. Great vid.
thank you darrell! this really helped me, ive been playing guitar for two years self taught and i’ve never knew any scales or keys, but they were easy to learn once you showed them, i took my about 2 or 3 tries to get it right and i’ve been trying to improve on my soloing so thank you once again !
Of all the videos on learning guitar on KZread, this guy makes it understandable how things work and go together. Great videos. Thank you.
This actually made me improve in five minutes. I've been hesitant to bending since playing Still Got The Blues, but your tip of listening to the note two frets higher is the only thing that actually helped me, even if I used to take classes. Thank you so much!
I have been playing for many years and I find you are a great teacher which is a skill in itself. Excellent. Not too difficult, very well explained and very useful excercises to all.
This is awesome! There are a million videos on playing specific solos and scales, but very few like this that show you what to do with the scales and how to start developing your own improvisations and solos. Next I think I'd like to see how to take these out of "the box" an start working horizontally across the neck. Thank you for this instruction.
10 out of 10 sir ! Great content and excellent teaching. Its so refreshing to see someone break it down simply and take the time to demonstrate at different tempi. Thank you
Love your personality Darrell. Always with the right mood in every lesson and video.
Darrell, how have I lived without you? 😂 Seriously, thanks. You’re my guitar teacher.
Awesome video, EXACTLY what I was looking for! Straight to the point, with tabs, good easy licks. Thank you!!
Hey Thanks Darrell. That is one thing about music, there is always something new to learn and/or create.
Man Darrell -- you're a great teacher! I like the way you walk through it slowly, then a bit faster, but then in a mix too so you can hear what it REALLY sounds like! Your tabs are also easy to read. Thank you!

Man!! This helped me sooo much!! Keep on doing your thing man, appreciate your lessons
Thx Darrel, another high quality video. Teaching people to create their own sounds, linking them together is priceless. I "free play 80% of the time, having the background music transforms a guitar player into a musician. 👍
Thanks so much! I came up with some similar licks just by noodling around, but this just validates my progress. i love your videos !
this is so great for beginners! been looking for good ways to practice all of these things! love the videos man, very genuine 👌🏾
Love these! I am imagining them all in a swing rhythm and cant wait to try them out.
It seems even if I only watch you I improve. I got a lot sorted out in the last few days. Thanks for all that stuff you do. You are an excellent teacher.
Love this! This is EXACTLY what I wanted to learn! I heard guys in guitar shops trying out guitars and I thought "wow I want to do this!" Thanks for this video!
Super cool and useful video for someone who has learnt how to go up and down a minor pentatonic scale, and trying to figure out where to go from there. Thanks a lot Darell. I wished I had come across this few years back.
I m a beginner and wanted to start lead, this is helping a lot. U have given different varieties that's awesome. I m learning it slowly...Thank you
Very pleasing and lively way of teaching ! Loved it ! Thanks !
I like your videos Darrell. You always make them interesting and wide-ranging in topic. Thanks.
I really liked the connecting riffs that you did after the riffs you were teaching! That’s the type of thing I’d like to learn 👍👋
Good stuff ! As inmentioned already, finally a guitar instructor who undestands the problrems of a relative beginner
great tips, thanks! having fun playing around with these doing variations and combos! 🔥🔥🔥
that complex bend one was challenging but great! Love the blues stuff too
Thanks for posting. Very helpful. Was nice to hear the riffs along with the mix.

Thanks again Darrell. Very useful information!!! I really enjoy your videos!
I'm a guitarist and teacher as well and my 9yo nephew that lives 800km from me asked me for some good videos for beginners since i cannot teach him myself. There are lot's of YT teachers, but no matter how much they try to share their knowledge it was always something wrong/missing. Now i found this video and it's perfect for him to start with licks and have some fun in the same time. Thank you for this good video :)

Just what I have been looking for. Great lessons Darrell.
Good stuff man ! Finally not a teacher who wants to show how good he is himself !! Regards from the Netherlands
This is so helpful for someone trying to get into lead playing! Thanks!!
I've been wanting to get back into playing for years. Yesterday I was watching a totally unrelated video when Darrell's $100 guitar video popped up. Now I'm inspired to dive back in. I tell friends that I was once a VERY mediocre guitar player, never could bust out a decent lead. Now with your very easy to follow videos Darrell...and lots of practice...I may break out of mediocrity! Thanks so much!
I'm a total beginner, Thank you sooo much for making that lesson very easy to understand! It has helped me achieve so much in my playing and my understanding of the minor pentatonic scale. Amazing ..... Billy,
This is great!! Thanks for posting. All the licks are great
I found this video very helpful , thanks for sharing your gift.
Completely amazing! Thank you!!
You are so good at what You do keep it up. I just enjoy listening I've been playing for over 50 years. You bring up a lot of good points for people who want to play. Thanks, Man!!!!!!!!!!
This is a great video man 👍 as a intermediate guitarist myself (play lead guitar in a punk rock band) this was actually really helpful and can be to many other guitarist out there beginner or veteran 🎶 great job man
jumping back all the time to learn the good licks you play in between
You're my hero! I've been looking for exactly something like this! 👍👍
Learning pentatonic scale on the fretboard for a while and this fantastic video examples are great to implement the notes of scale to create melodic licks.
Super helpful video Cheers Darrell
Hi Darrell ! Awesome is the word for these wonderful licks !! Thanks a lot for this tutorial !
Cool vid. Liked the double stops a lot. For all of them you simplified it nicely. Cheers dude.

Thank you! Having acquired an electric guitar from a friend, I had no idea where to start. This was just what I needed.
Great lesson!
Another fantastic video Darrell!
Thanks for the vid, just what I was looking for to get started on some solos !! Clear and simple explanations.
Awesome video! Thank you 👍🏼
Great lesson.
Super useful vid, Darrell. One thing you do in this lick video that others on YT don't do often is to play the lick in context. That's super important for beginning lead players like me trying to figure out how to put licks together. My favorite lick here was one you didn't actually tab out, starting at 2:24 -- I used the 1/2 speed setting to slow it down & figure it out. That lick was not only a great lick on it's own, but one that showed a nice way to link positions 1 & 2 of the minor pentatonic scale. I'd love to see more examples from you on linking positions like that!

wish you wrote it down for others so we dont have to do the same :P lick sure is nice. I have trouble with 2nd lick coz it plays 7th fret on 2 strings right after each other and im not sure if I bare it or swap quickly fingers. but im beginner so I just need to figure it out
Darrell, love your videos. Definitely the most insightful guitar content on YT. Thanks for making these vids, really inspired me to get the guitar out the closet.
Need to tab those fills! awesome video
Awesome, many thanks!
Really really cool - thank you!
By far one of the best lick videos I have seen.
Awesome as always.
Super stuff! Great licks ..very lucidly explained
Thanks for the tabular! Makes it so much easier to follow.

Awesome video, of course it's all the in between licks you play between the lesson lick that has me chomping at the bit!
I played an electric guitar today at a shop, first time I ever held one and now I can't wait to have my own one day
Darrell, the greatest! I like your video so much, it's clear and sounds so beautiful and yet easy to follow. You're THE best! Can't thank you enough for a great video!
