This is a great amp and it's sold under Harley Benton as well and the original company that makes it used to produce Laney and the old Kustom diamond tuck amps.

Just so you are aware.....Carbon fibre and epoxy resin expands and contracts more than wood with temperature. Over time the carbon will absorb water and get heavier. Carbon and epoxy resin shrinks very slightly over its life time. I designed a composite aircraft so I have experience with these materials. I would not use these materials in musical instruments. But it sure looks fantastic.

Showing the transient of the note doesn't show any tone difference between the two. You need to do a spectral analysis to show what you're trying to say. From my ears, there's no difference in tone, but obviously in the DAW a slight albeit negligible difference in sustain.

Thicker neck definitely sounded beefier in the low end and mids, but I found that actually worked against it when you started strumming full chords at 3:19. The thinner neck had better articulation and note definition in the low end then.

I give an A+ just for having the courage to make a video on this topic. However, picking cables by price is not a good way to do a comparison. There's nothing objective about it. Try and answer this question. I currently have a $250 guitar. If I spend $1000 on a new guitar, how will my sound quality improve? Its an impossible question to answer. Why? Not all $1000 guitars sound the same. If a $1000 guitar goes on sale for $500, does the sound change? Of course not. If this was a guitar or an amp comparison, you would look at more than just price. What kind of pickups? Tube or solid state? Build quality. And a lot of other, real factors, will go into the comparison. Selecting a product just going on price alone takes none of these factors into consideration. At the end of a typical review, the reviewer usually gives their opinion of whether the product is worth the asking price. Cables are no different. They do sound different, but like any other product, the results you get will vary. If you take the cable that you felt sounded the best in this shootout and give it to a bunch of people to try, you'll be surprised at some of the comments. Some will hear the same thing you did, but others won't hear any difference at all. And of the people that did hear a difference, some will say it sounded worse than the cheap one's they currently use. And that's just the way it goes. Different products respond in different ways, and different people also respond in different ways. This is why so many people think cables are snake oil. They get burned. If you're considering the purchase of expensive cables, there's one rule you need to follow. You have to try them with the gear you will be using them with. Confirm they will make a difference worth paying for, before you buy them. If you can't do that, don't buy the cables. And just to be clear, I'm no cable denier. I own cables that cost ridiculous amounts of money, and have no regrets I bought them. You just have to try them first to make sure its the right decision for you.

Pretty funny how low the bass is set. I did that with mine for a long time. IDK if you are still using this amp, but I've found a better way of doing it is to cut some bass before it hits the amp. This way, the bass gets distorted less and stays tighter but you can get a more even EQ. One of the reason Tube Screamers/SD-1s are so often run with these amps.

I listened to stuff like Metallica but only had a nylon string classical guitar. Regardless, I played it. Then I gained access to an acoustic guitar. The increased string tension initially wasn’t to my liking. Eventually I got an electric and having built up finger strength on the acoustic, it was so fun to play!

I have an older ESP standard eclipse, which in my opinion blows away every Les Paul I’ve ever played. I think they rebranded this to LTD?. I’ve heard a lot of good things about navigator and Edwards guitars made by ESP for the Japanese market. Yeah, but in my opinion, the ESP eclipses are far superior in sound and quality to Les Paul being built today. The USA made eclipses are even nicer, but you’re talking about 5K and up. But these guitars are some of the best made guitars in production right now.

Interesting, but to be very candid, the imperviousness to temperature and humidity can be a little overblown unless you're travelling from Phoenix to the North Pole to Thailand within a week. My wood necks rarely need adjusting anyway. To me, one huge con that Darrell doesn't mention is the lack of a truss rod. Not everybody has the same relief preferences, so this a HUGE con, and is actually a feature that the newer Klos carbon fiber neck has (probably cheaper too). But the con I personally can't get past is the tone. Both the Klos and this one sound very metallic to my ears. Some people may like that, but with all it's twang, even a Tele can sound woody. I'd say this is a novelty, nothing more. A good roasted maple neck from Warmoth, Plekked by your favorite luthier AFTER installation, is going to be a far better genuine investment, in my opinion.
